The first guy took one look at my mask and then chose to help me the absolute minimum he could - he even stopped looking directly at me, kept turning away and mumbling (I was exposed to someone with covid the day before and wanted to protect anyone I came into contact with!). the second guy mansplained the process of making plywood when I asked about the grades and quality, and then proceeded to tell me to go find a build plan to work from, after I told him I build furniture. Was so excited they had what i needed in stock. Terrible customer service. Rude. No apology ever or even a hint of responsibility for not ordering an item that was supposed to be ordered and that was to replace an item so damaged it could not be used that they sold me to begin with as new. I was hung up on, not shopping here ever again. A couple of employees were nice, but the senior folks are really not who I will spend money with again. read more

I went to Sutherlands for the first time yesterday to get another gallon of some Dutch Boy paint, and I didn't want to drive all the way to Menards to get it. I also needed some custom mixed paint. I was waiting at the paint counter while one of their employees, his shirt said "Steve" on it, was helping another customer. Instead of coming over to me when he was done, he went over to their service counter area. After a few minutes I went over to the service counter, and asked if anyone who works there could mix up some paint for me. Still being ignored by Steve, someone got someone else to come mix the paint for me. The guy who did it was very helpful, and I got exactly what I needed. Despite the poor customer service, especially on the part of Steve, I will likely go back there. It's close to my house, and a fairly small store that still has what's needed in the way of hardware. read more

Very poor customer service. They currently have a barn-style shed on sale in their brochure: 8x12 for $799. We drive all the way out there and they refuse to honor it because it was a typo and it should've been 8x10. When asked if there is any kind of discount they can give us since that's their own error and it's in print, they bluntly told us no and it's not their responsibility. The way they handled it was extremely rude and the worst kind of customer service. Honor your mistakes and at least give some kind of discount or acknowledgement that you messed up. Probably one of the most unfriendly places I shop. This store is close to my work, so go there once a month or so. Never been asked if I need help, even when I have a staff member pass me in an aisle. When I check out, I'm just handed the receipt. No thank you, have nice day, screw you, nothing. If there was a Home Depot close I would definitely go there. read more

This Sutherlands is twice as large as the other one in Columbus, so shop here if you can. In the land of competing small discount hardware stores, this one shines over the other bargain outlets and such places in Columbus. You can get almost anything cheaper than you could at home depot or lowes, and given their size for a small chain, there is a huge selection here. I've gotten anything from drywall to doors to mulch, and all of it has been as good as what you would get elsewhere, just not as pricey. read more

The best prices for starter plants for your vegetable garden. Reasonable selection too. Great bargain sales on plants and other stuffs. We got a floor model discontinued stainless dishwasher there for only $200! Some stuff is more $$ than Lowes and some not. Worth a visit for sure! read more

I enjoy my trips to Sutherlands (Clime Road Store), as I get great prices on very good quality black mulch ( that stays black), my tomato plants, and other items. I love the dollar racks. Great place to get little tools very inexpensively. They are only giving 5% off for military discounts, whereas Lowes and Home Depot give me 10%, but I still shop for my short list of must haves for the yard and garden. I look forward to their fruit shipments in the fall. read more
