The team explained that they called multiple times ahead of the appointment to explain the condition, what exactly would be needed and ensure it was an appropriate setting. The doctor scheduled to conduct the procedure had already evaluated the patient in-person and personally referred them to this center for her to complete it. Patient did absolutely nothing wrong, other than needing some assistance from their team, and a full team was present to work with them to ensure the Sutter staff didn't have to worry about anything. The RN immediately complained and was openly talking negatively about the patient in the hallway so the team denied service without even trying or consulting the patients team. Even after the reiteration that the procedure was urgent due to life threatening concerns and having a history of successful procedures with no issues, they refused service based on the fact they had disabilities that they were well aware of ahead of time. Very disheartening to see professionals in a field meant to help others be so discriminatory and hateful.

I warned the nurse drawing my blood that I have small veins but after a couple minutes she was able to find it and get what was needed. She was very patient and used 100% care taking my blood which I appreciate. I've been a Kaiser member for almost 10 years and always experience quality care from the staff.

I said well may you manage your dehydration the same way with the same results. She then said she is going to call security and have me whisked away. I asked why and it took her a few seconds to come up with I was harassing her. I asked how was that? If she believes what she is doing is right then she will be well taken care of with her idea of comfort care. She simply gets the same solution she is assigning to my dad. She believes it's a solid solution so why not for her also? She said again I'm harassing her and I said that's a lie I'm just standing here calmly having a conversation with you. She told the nurse not to talk to me and wait for my sister and continued to refuse basic human needs to my dad. I immediately reported her to member services she is abusing her power trying to call security on someone who strongly opposes her methods for treatment We are shocked at this inhumane protocol. Extremely Disappointing Experience With the LASIK Department…read more I am extremely disappointed with the way my LASIK surgery process was handled. As a soldier, I understand that medical procedures have strict eligibility requirements and that a patient can ultimately be found ineligible. What I do not understand is the way this situation was communicated and handled from beginning to end. Prior to my appointment, I was informed that the slight deviation in my eye could potentially result in disqualification. I understood that this was a possibility and was prepared for the procedure to be denied if the medical evaluation determined that I was not a candidate. However, after traveling approximately seven hours to the facility based on being told that my surgical packet had been approved, I was given a completely different explanation. Upon arrival, I was told that the deviation was not simply a potential disqualifying factor--it was apparently too severe for them to operate on. I was then informed that I would never be able to have eye surgery. That is an extremely significant conclusion to give a patient, especially after previously communicating something substantially different. If the condition was severe enough to make me permanently ineligible for eye surgery, that should have been clearly communicated before I was told my packet was approved and before I made a seven-hour trip. The only additional communication I received was an abrupt phone call from an optometrist who identified herself as Ms. Wang. The only instruction I was given was essentially, "Stop rubbing your eyes." I was not provided with a clear explanation of what had changed, why my previous information was different, or why I was suddenly being considered permanently ineligible. What was particularly frustrating was that the surgeon would not even speak with me directly to explain the decision. Instead, I was left dealing with an individual who was extremely argumentative and disrespectful in the way they communicated with me. Rather than treating me like a patient who was simply asking legitimate questions about a major medical decision, I was spoken to in a condescending manner, almost as if I did not understand the most basic concepts being discussed. I was not asking anyone to perform a procedure that was medically unsafe. I was asking for a reasonable explanation of why I was previously told my packet was approved, why the determination changed upon arrival, and why I was now being told that I could never have eye surgery. Those are completely reasonable questions for a patient to ask. The seven-hour drive made the situation even more unacceptable. This was not a minor inconvenience. I spent significant time, fuel, and effort traveling based on information provided to me by the department. If there were unresolved medical concerns that could result in permanent disqualification, those concerns should have been addressed before I was told I was approved and instructed to report for surgery. The biggest issue here is not that I was ultimately found to be a poor candidate for surgery. Medical professionals have every right to determine that a procedure is unsafe. The issue is the lack of consistent communication, the apparent change in explanation, the absence of a meaningful solution, and the disrespectful manner in which my questions were handled. I would strongly encourage the LASIK department to reevaluate how it communicates surgical approvals and disqualifications to soldiers. Patients deserve accurate information before traveling significant distances, and they deserve to have major medical decisions explained to them by qualified medical professionals--not dismissed, talked down to, or left without answers

My only complaints are: the small ED lobby that feels like a bubble of germs with the circle of seats to cough onto each other. The lack of communication with wait times in between information given once you're in a room in the ED... and bedside with some ER doctors. But that's par the course for most hospitals.

I had blank checks from me inside the vehicle for purchase. I was arrested for vehicle theft and placed in Auburn jail for a day and then released in Pleasanton at 2 am with nothing. I couldn't even access my bank without photo ID. I went to a church and was given a gift card for groceries which I used. I was sitting on a park bench eating when an officer pushed me down and arrested me even though I had a receipt. I was driven back to Auburn jail and locked in for six months and then labeled incompetent. I was then taken to Napa State Hospital and locked in there for 11 months. They had a forensic team evaluate me and state I am competent in which they sent me back to Auburn jail. I was never sentenced, never been in trouble with the law and I was convicted of two felonies. I have my own money and no reason to steal a vehicle. The whole situation has caused me ptsd and I am unable to get credit,a loan, rental and some hotels due to the incident. I was released with nothing and shelters were full. I had to sleep outside for 3 weeks until I got my ID back to access my bank account.
