Love this place picked up a new truck radio also a sweet keyboard that actually works it was awesome

My mom and I stopped by for Mother's Day, thrift shopping is her favorite downtime hobby. As soon as we walked in we approached the jewelry counter and I watched three employees play "noes goes" to see who had to help us. It was kind of sad, either they really don't like working the jewelry counter or I felt like they had some kind of preconception or stereotype about my mom (or me, who knows.). It definitely put a damper on the shopping experience. This is one of the cleaner goodwills I've been too. The racks are sorted nicely and almost color coded. All the sizes are separated well without being mixed up. There wasn't a lot of things cluttered on the shelves or on the floors. They keep the bathrooms locked and they were fairly clean. I can appreciate them having a sharps container so if sharps are being used they don't end up on the floor or anywhere else. Overall we found some good stuff. I just wish the employees were nicer. The lady that did end up helping us was kind and helpful. Maybe everyone was just having a rough day. read more

Before I talk about the good things, I want to mention that this place does not have changing rooms, so you cannot try on the clothes. This is a bit thing to me. But this might not matter to other people. I did however try some things on over my clothing, and I noticed that I wasn't the only one doing that. They do have a couple mirrors on the side... They at least had a nice clothing selection and were an average size for a goodwill. I'm not sure why they had to get rid of the dressing rooms, but I hope they bring them back sometime. The staff were okay. They were not exactly friendly, but kind of working with a "blah" energy. Still they were helpful and at least nice. So over priced, I found a cute little shelf, the tag said $2.99 and when I got to the register she scanned a different tag that did not have the goodwill logo on it and said it was $6.99. A BROKEN cart was $14.99 definitely will not come back way too over priced for the things they have. read more

Please PLEASE. Lower your "specialty" book prices. It's getting so extremely ridiculous. I used to love coming here, but about 2 or 3 months ago they started severely upcharging their book prices based on popularity. They no longer have dressing rooms (was a mess since people never put items on the return rack), so I understand why they removed it. Prices have risen drastically, jackets priced like new ($9-$24 depending on brand). Saw a Kirkland jacket $14, and another jacket same price but had a massive rip. Service is normal - went on a Sunday and, although long lines and lots of people, the cashiers seem to enjoy working with each other. They do have 50% off certain tag colors on select days, but haven't made it to those yet. read more

I like coming here because I have a few good memories of thrifting here. It is always a hit or miss when searching for something good at goodwill. . I have found some awesome clothes here before for work, like name brand work shirts. . I also have found a real fur lether jacket here and I was stunned when it fit me perfectly . . Loved the good finds for cups and kitchenware unexpected when I come browse here. . The service here is good and patient with helping or questions. The value of the items is reasonably priced. I've been going to this Goodwill for several years now. It only deserves three stars because of the small size of the store and the overinflated eBay prices that Goodwill puts on their merchandise. With persistence of shopping here I do come up with some great finds for very little money. Most of the employees they are extremely nice, friendly, and you could tell they enjoy their job. The two main cashiers are amazing and I always look forward to seeing their faces. The big down side is one of the current female managers either hates her job or angry at her life choices. She has the worst attitude to both customers and employees. A simple question from a friendly customer, she's give disgusting attitudes and this is constant. I've seen her talked to employees, talking down to other employees in the store. She walks away from employees shaking her head and talking crap about them under breath. It's on the smaller side compared to other stores I've been to but I've gotten some nice dresses and clothing here from great brands. All in great condition and priced as I expected. Dresses $5.99 or $8.99. The purse selection was picked over and bare bones, not much good stuff. Shoes were decent but just like any thrift store hunting, you get lucky or not sometimes. The clothing and especially dress section is packed so tight on the racks that it's hard to look through sometimes. Aisles to browse clothing is very narrow, one person at a time is ideal. The homeware section was also small and picked over compared to other locations. No issues with staff as I didn't interact with anyone but I've gone here a handful of times now because I've gotten lucky finding vintage clothing I like and also just overall unique and well made pieces. read more

I am new to the area and found several Goodwill Donation Express locations closed. Happily, this store is open and has a well organized drop off. Located behind the store, queue up and you can have an attendant help you with your donation. Quick and easy. The store itself is large, but I didn't make it in this time. read more

I came here yesterday looking for work pants and I see the Halloween sign says 25% off and I was like ok cool deal so I mention this to the young thin girl working register she than leaves her register un attended and I show the other employee the sign the cashier than comes over and says it on selected items I told them how it looks you guys should honor the price she gets a rude attitude with me and I tell her I can always put a review on Yelp and she then doesn't even bother her than little miss cashier rolls her eyes at me and I tell them I would like to speak to a manager she is rude she than muffles under her breath wow and continued rolling her eyes I tell her ya keep rolling your eyes a few minutes later the manager comes up and I explain how rude the cashier was and explain how the price shows it and he does not honor it I hate when managers act like it is coming out of there pocket such bs I did end up finding a pair of jeans and the other cashier was friendly given the fact with my experience they should have honored the advertise price I hope the higher up management will see this not happy at all not sure if I will come back again given my experience very disappointed read more

The prices are getting ridiculous. There is always tons of thick dust bunnies in and on the top of the dividing walls in dressing rooms. So gross and tough fir those if us with asthma. If they want to charge boutique prices they should keep it t organized and clean.was at the Fairway one in Roseville on Sunday the 50% off color was red.Mention to the worker in the dress aisle that I have searched through the dresses and didn't see one red tag ,her reply was that she had just gone through them and pulled all the red tags ! It was 10 in the morning. This does not make sense to me why would you pull the days colors at the beginning of the day or for that matter on the day of the sale at all. So discouraged with Goodwill anymore its high prices and low service ,cleanliness, or organization. read more

This was just one of many thrift stores my sisters and I visited in one day**** This one was much better than the Goodwill on Douglas Blvd. They had a lot of cute shoes in my size and the shoes were close to new! The prices were fair and I found the perfect addition to my son's Halloween costume. The service was good and the manager was nice. He took the time to hear me out about the text I received from Goodwill and my frustration with the other location. He gave me useful information and apologized for the confusion. I usually don't come to this one because it is the HIGHEST priced Goodwill in the Sac area. Even Folsom isn't as expensive. Came by on Memorial Day for the sale and it still rang true. I should have taken a pic but they wanted $20.99 for a pair of mens Levis. All Nike items were $7.99 regardless of condition. You cannot charge that much for free donated goods unless you turn into a boutique like the GW in downtown. This store also utilizes double tiered racks for their tops. I get it for space saving but it really looks awful being front and center. It is also not good for safety and shrinkage reasons. It greatly obstructs view. Heard a few customers complain about it. Employees are not any friendlier either. No greeting. No saying thank you either. Eh, next time I will skip Fairway. read more

Great amount of inventory, store is quite crowded with it. Staff not so friendly, feel like they have to work rather than want to work and some even are irritated that they have not had their break or were supposed to clock out 10 minutes ago. Items seem a bit over priced. floors are littered with items falling off the shelf, many stuffed animals are pretty dirty compared to other stores i have been to. I am a big fan of purchasing from thrift stores, so none of these things will deter me from returning. read more

I just wanted to write a review for my favorite goodwill! This goodwill has great service, with very fun and nice employees. I have found some of my best items here so that is one thing that keeps me coming back once a week. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars right now is because the prices are going UP LIKE CRAZY i understand that more recent items that are from like A&F or lulu are priced more but not reg old brands, hoping the prices go down so i can buy more instead of having to leave half of my stuff due to it being 10 dollar each. read more

We all know that teachers are under paid, but as a teacher's assistant, your pay pay is significantly less than the teacher. With my budget, I'm always on the lookout for toys or educational items we could use in the classroom for our kids. I stop by from time to time and today was a good day. I was able to find some electronic toys, which I would probably pay more than ten dollars for at a yard sale at less than two dollars! To my surprise, the toys were in great working condition. It's a, "hit or miss," like any thrift store and I've had more "hits" here. This is the most horrible drip off location and the worst place . To be called good will is more than a joke . I have had nothing but issues here . The people working here are disrespectful-and act like you disrespect them . Go to salvation army . I have really nice things and they always hassle me every time i came here i will never donate here or to the company again . This company serious should be shut down . Take your donations to a place that will appreciate you and the quality of items. No kidding they question every single item i drop off. It's not inflation, it's price gouging when the inventory is donated. What is the incentive to buying secondhand when it is only marginally cheaper? I saw a dog bowl for seven dollars. Nothing special, ceramic dog bowl. The CEOs Make how much? Sickening. Service is great. Cashiers are wonderful. I've been coming for a long, long time. I would've given this location a five about a year ago. Something changed. I can only assume corporate or new management. Prices are way higher than they used to be, especially electronics. Not everything is a Rembrandt. If what other people are saying here on Yelp is true, if this goodwill allows select pickers first, or any Goodwill for that matter, then that's just bad business and they should post this information so customers don't have their time wasted. Very over priced. I recommend supporting compassionate planet in Rocklin at 55505 Whitney Blvd. the proceeds go to Youth at high-risk. kids are working there learning valuable job skills, creating resumes for their future. They are all really sweet and i've found some really great deals there. It's a huge two building area so don't accidentally miss one. read more

I have been giving to Goodwill since I was a child. After many years of donating, I recently decided to go into the store to see what the store looked like. The store is clean and organized. It looks just as organized as consignment stores in the area that sell brands that are more expensive name brands than this store. I could see that many of the things people donate at the donation Xpress probably don't make it into the store. I donate things that are in good condition, so if they don't make it into the store, I would hope someone can use them because I don't like to be wasteful. Years ago, I called the store and asked to speak to a manager to ask what happens to the things that aren't good enough quality for the store. She said we don't want peoples junk. I told her I don't donate junk. She said they give things to other charities. I was relieved because if I donate things that would be thrown away, I would just have kept them myself. Women's clothes: I was surprised to see name brands like Macy's INC, Forever 21, Banana Republic, Old Navy and other brands you would see in a mall or outlet. The prices are good at $4.99-$7.99. Purses and make up bags: I originally went to the store to look for purses, checkbooks and make up bags for a purse charity that collects new or gently used purses for women in need. I found multiple Estee Lauder and Clinique bags that looked brand new for $2.49, That was a good deal. I kept a few for myself and donated some to the charity. The purses I think are too overpriced for the worn condition many of them are in and are unknown brands. Many are not leather but a cheaper man made material. The purses are priced at $10.49-$13.49 which I think is too high for the quality and condition. A lot of the purses are on the ground, or have four purses on one hook, or are twisted around other purses. Seems lie they don't have the staff organizing the purses. Other Goodwill stores have the purses organized better. It makes it easier to find things. read more

My wife purchased a park bench and was told she had 24 hours to pick it up. The very next day we drove from Carmichael arrived at 8:30 AM and they laughed as they announced it had been sold and was no longer available. The manager told my wife that kind of mistake happens all the time. We got our money refunded. What a waste of time and gas money. And I'll double underline the hard feeling and disappointment. It isn't often anymore that an employee goes over and above their job to help a customer and that goes for anywhere I had an experience that I must share at this Goodwill Store. I thought I had lost my wallet when I was in there looking around. When I realized it was gone it had been almost 1/2 hour. Judy was the employee that looked around and helped me. As you can imagine I was concerned, she was supportive and calming. Took all my info and promised she would not stop looking. I found my wallet and went back to tell Judy. The experience was stressful BUT she treated me with kindness and respect. I am grateful and will definitely go back to shop. I will however hang on to my WALLET read more

I was surprised to find out that they allow "pickers" first shot to go through items before they are put out on the floor: I spoke to a lady that came out of the back room, thinking she was an employee and she told me she didn't work for Goodwill, she was employed at a thrift shop in downtown Sac. No wonder it's hard to come across good finds at this location, they give others an opportunity to go through items and pull them out (for a price I am sure) before regular customers see the merchandise. I notice also this store does not use a color tag system like sone other stores that discount different color tags on different days. read more

I always like coming here. They have a nice drive-through line for you to bring the items you no longer want for donations. This is a very wide is establishment with several different items to choose from. they don't just sell stuff that you no longer want. They sell new items too. I have seen stuff with tags still on it that somebody just didn't get around to using or wanting which is very nice. Definitely a very fordable place. The staff is very friendly here very helpful. I like the fact that the items are very well stocked and you can find everything for such a great deal, what more could you ask for saving money is always great in my opinion and they have such a wide selection to choose from very clean establishment. Very friendly staff very nice establishment in general. I highly recommend this establishment anybody looking for a great deal it's a great place to shop if you're on a budget or just want a little something might end up with more lol I will definitely be coming back here again very soon for more future visit and more great experiences to come thank you goodwill for all of your hard work I appreciate it.
