I'm actually surprised the rating isn't better. I had a WONDERFUL experience here. I was having a horrible reaction to something for weeks and finally couldn't take it anymore as nothing was working. I developed a rash all over my body, and I decided urgent care was the next step. I went in, and I was checked in immediately by a wonderfully kind and helpful woman, I went to the waiting room and before I could even sit down I was called back. Had my vitals done and waited in the room maybe 5 minutes before a doctor came in. He listened to my concerns, checked me out and prescribed me meds that worked immediately and within a week I was finally better after a month of suffering. read more

I had been a Kaiser patient for over 20 years but had to switch plans a year ago and was concerned that the care wouldn't be as good. I have been very pleased with the care I've received at Sutter and the Urgent Care department is no exception. While working in the garden last fall I slipped on some shade cloth and went down hard on my wrist. At first I brushed it off and went about my business and about two hours later I was in excruciating pain (this coming from someone with a high pain threshold). I was afraid I had broken my wrist and wanted to get it attended to quickly before bones set wrong. It was Saturday afternoon and there were about 3-4 patients ahead of me. After about 45 min I was seen by the dr and he sent me over to radiology for X-rays. They promptly took the X-rays and I headed back to wait for results. They could not definitively tell if it was a break because the suspected bone was behind others. Dr. said that if it was broken I'd know if I was still in pain. They put me in a wrist brace and sent me on my way. TL;DR they were prompt, friendly and professional and had me in and out of there in under 3 hours. Oh and no break! Just a bad sprain. I know everyone's experiences are different but wanted to share that mine was good. read more

Took our 3 year old in to be seen and while the in office experience was good at the time, we went to pick up our prescription ordered by the doctor and it wasn't there. Called the office 4 separate times through the day to get it called in just to be told it would be sent. Never was. All day. Then they closed. Our daughter had to continue being sick all day and we ended up in the ER at 2am to get the meds because she was so dehydrated and sick. Absolute garbage. Note: The staff were super nice while we were there. I'm guessing they're super understaffed which is not their fault but definitely on the administration. read more

being close to sutter health care in auburn we went to the urgent care clinic on sunday for a minor but urgent problem only to be told being on medicare and having united health care for insurance they wouldn't see us. to go to the higher priced er option on the other side of the parking lot. that they would only see us in urgent care if we were seeing one of their primary care doctors regularly. this is all totally fine if they made it clear on their website. they don't. they say nothing about if it is urgent and you are on medicare/united healthcare they want to only see you in the high-priced er where they make the best profit. shame on sutter for not at least giving honest info on their urgent care limitations. read more

Showed up over two hours before they closed. Only one other person in the waiting area. Was told they were at capacity for how many patients they've seen for the day. So what, everyone just gets to go home 2 hours early when I drove 30 mins to the only urgent care in Auburn? Don't advertise to be open until 8:30pm if you decide to close whenever you want. read more

Went to Sutter Karen Auburn yesterday because one of my ear hearing aid tips came off in my ear and it's too far down. My ear doctor could not get it out and another ear doctor could not get it out. They recommended that I go to the Sutter urgent care which I did. filled out the paperwork. There was like three other people in in the room in the waiting room and they said it'd be about 2 and 1/2 to 3 hours. Well I don't have the patience for that. I take a ride when I can get a ride. They said come back so I decided to treat my friend that brought me for lunch and we took quite a while doing that and then we went back couple hours later. She said to be another three maybe four hours. I thought what the heck I mean there was nobody in the waiting room this is too much . I said let's just go home so because I have that thing in my ear I can't put my other hearing aid in so I can't hear anything at all. So I called Sutter to see if I could make an appointment and I called them at 11:00 this morning they said they were closed. Call back at 2:00 so it's now 3:30 and I called and it rings and rings and rings. Nobody answers. Do I recommend setter urgent care? I am a Sutter member. Do recommend them? No, not if it's urgent which I don't consider mine urgent but I considered that it would take about 5 minutes for them to pull that thing out of my ear 5 minutes. I feel that they could have got me in. What do they have? One doctor in there? In waiting room there was not over maybe 5 people and most of them were one lady with a couple of kids. I LOVE this office. Im 65yrs old and I have never been to an 'Urgent Care' office in my life. Yes, I had to wait several hours before I was seen, but it was worth it and they were just doing their job. When I was leaving, I left with a thought of relief. I went there because in the past I had to take my husband there for many reasons and many times and found that they are a good place to go get help. Apparently you can't go in to an urgent care anymore if you have had a fever. I took my one year old son here to get his ear checked in hopes we can nip a possible ear infection in the butt. I was honest and mentioned he had a slight fever hours prior (Which is common with an ear infection and normal). She insisted I can't be in there at all if he has had a fever and I must take him to the EMERGENCY ROOM. So I'm lieu of getting antibiotics to get this ear infection under control, I am told to subject my young child to all the other numerous illnesses people are waiting around to get seen for. LVN Ethan Barrientos sure needs to learn a little bedside manner. Was short and rude. He acted perturbed that he had to look up the dosage size of my wife's headache medication. Was rude and acted frustrated with the answers my wife was giving to the questions he was asking. When someone is having a major migraine, sometimes it's a little hard to think and speak. Some much needed sensitivity training is needed here. Next time I'll drive the extra 10 minutes to go to the urgent care in Roseville and I highly suggest you do too. It's worth the extra drive time to not be treated like $hi#. By the way, I'm writing this as we sit in the room waiting for the nurse practitioner to see my wife. Can't see my review changing much but we'll see. After seeing the NP... Nurse Practitioner Glennie Trestler (5 stars for her), however, was very friendly and had amazing bedside manor. Very thorough in her examination. It's too bad that the LVN had an attitude otherwise this would be a much better review. read more

First of all, they wouldn't answer our phone call to see if we could receive care. So when we finally got there and walked in, they were extremely rude and unhelpful. They need to work on their bedside manner and have empathy because they literally are supposed to care for their patients but they clearly don't. I do not recommend coming here. read more

Turned my three year old away because she had a fever the day prior. Saying she had "Covid symptoms" so she would have to go to the ER. She had an ear infection. So this is where we are at...sending kids to the ER or denying care for ear infections? If you can't go to an urgent care with a fever or a cough, then what DO you go for? read more

I've been there on a few occasions and have been very well taken care of. Yes,it takes a while but Urgent Care takes everyone that walks in the door and that's many of us that can't get into primary offices anymore without waiting weeks. I'm very Thankful for them and drive down from Grass Valley because we have only 1 that doesn't take a lot of insurances. Went in for a Covid test... not easy to get since we are not a big city( I thought testing was important) ( apparently not to Sutter).... Doctor (Brian S.)was professional during the test and said he would call back at 1 pm the next day since he would be working then... Made plans to be a available the next day.... No call so I called at 2pm... Lady on the phone said my results wouldn't be ready until 3pm.... Called back at 3pm and the lady on the phone said my results may not be ready until 3pm tomorrow... Wasted two days due to their incompetence! Feel like billing them for my time! Would give them a lower score if I could! read more

My 91-year old father-in law needed an appointment with his doctor today, and there were none. We went to Sutter Urgent care, and I couldn't be happier. Dr. Michele was wonderfully caring, respectful, and has a great sense of humor! Ann Marie, the medical assistant is an angel. She listened well, really helped us both, and was such a joy! My father-in-law received excellent care, and another wonderful person wheeled him up to our car-in the102degree heat! What a fantastic bunch of people! Like a close family! Went in to get stitches on my finger. Was seen quickly and was in and out in about 1.5 hours. Kids were with me and it was dinner time, the doctors assistance grabbed granola bars and water for the kids. Friendly place and great job on the stitches. read more

Very disappointed in the behavior and attitude I faced at the front desk on Saturday 1/20, I arrived at about 2:30'ish. The girl behind the desk (young dirty-blond), was shockingly unhelpful and condescending the entire time. Very apparent she had no idea what she was doing, even said she's "not too familiar with the front desk", but, nobody but me paid the price for her lack of training and knowledge and manners. I did not have my ins card with me, however I did have my medical record number. She kept asking me what insurance I had, I told her Sutter Ins, she very condescendingly told me that doesn't help her. She told me that the department who verifies insurance is closed, which left me with no options apparently, so I told her to go ahead and bill me and I'd deal with getting the ins to pay for it, she then informed me of the new policy.... I would need to pay a deposit on the visit. I left. Inconveniently (since I live in Auburn), I went to Roseville Urgent Care and gave them the exact same info, my medical record number, No problem! No questions asked! Much More professional behavior and atmosphere in Roseville. ***** 5 STARS FOR SUTTER ROSEVILLE! Just some info for the manager, if you read this.... This same front desk person was also condescending toward an older man who came in asking about the lab, as he needed to get blood work. He asked what the hours were, she said they closed at 12 on Saturdays. He mentioned that the website states that it closes at 5. She just snickered, sitting back in her chair and said "ya, ok". I am so grateful for Sutter Urgent Care. My medical complexities can be incredibly challenging, but despite them all, I know when I am in a bind and need to be seen urgently, I can get the care needed by those at the office. Three times this year they have saved me from visiting the ER. Each time I have walked away listened to, believed, cared for, and treated appropriately. Last weekend I got a bite that became infected, I went to Med 7 in Sacramento and was brushed off in 3 minutes and prescribed antibiotics by a dr who didn't seem interested. As you'd expect, the infection got much worse, and I tried this Urgent Care. Dr. Hobel and staff were amazing, professional and courteous. The quality of care was spectacular, minor surgery was performed in house, and despite, a very busy schedule, they took the time to perform the right medical treatment, and made sure that I was aware of everything that was happening. There is nothing URGENT about this office. After waiting an hour to be seen we were put into an exam room where I waited for another hour and a half with my very ill 4 year old. After the nurse came in to take his blood pressure, oxygen level test, etc. we waited for another 40 minutes and then had to find someone to ask how much longer it would be. No one came in to apologize for the wait or to keep us updated on the wait time. From a human kindness perspective, regardless of how busy the doctor is, this should be part of the public relations practice of the office. After asking a nurse 3 times and having her tell us each time that she could not give any time frame of how much longer it would be we left after 2 1/2 hours of waiting. I went to the Urgent Care at 10:00am and was feeling very low. It was my first time ever going to an urgent care facility. I felt like no one understood how I was feeling. I hadn't slept in 3 days and had a UTI infection. I was greeted by Ann Marie H. and she was so compassionate and guided me through all the forms and helped me through the process. I was shaking and at first I thought she would judge me when I told her everything. She was great! She was very professional and really cared about me as a human being! She put me at ease and so very grateful that I met her. I really believe the Sutter Urgent Care is very fortunate to have her as an employee! I believe This will not be my last time going there! A big fat "0". They wouldn't see me & sent me to the ER at Auburn Faith. I believe it was because my primare care physician is in Grass Valley. It certainly wasn't an insurance issue since I have Medicare & Anthem Blue Cross PPO. It was ridiculous without a proper explanation! 2nd time I have walked out. Really sick and waited out in the waiting room for an hour (there was 1 person in and 1 person ahead of me that make 2 people) then was put in a room for ANOTHER HOUR. Still no help and getting sicker by the minute. The PA is a really really nice guy but dang he can talk someones ear off I could hear him chit chatting and chatting about random things for the entire time through the walls. I've seen him before and my ears practically fell off from chatting. When sick people are waiting STOP CHATTING! Soo off I went to the Emergency room which got me right in and treated me quickly...there is no quick at this urgent care. read more

Unethical practices. The care was fine and doctors professional but when it came to billing, I had to ask them twice to bill my in network insurance. That went through fine once they billed it, but then I found out the wrist splint for a sprain they provided me was from their preferred medical supply provider who is not in network. At no time was I informed that their supplier wouldn't be covered by my insurance. Researching their supplier Pacific Medical Inc. indicates most insurance companies treat them as out of network. So my in-network visit cost me $225 for an out of network splint I could have gotten anywhere else for $25. Sutter Urgent Care must get a huge kick back for using such a questionable supplier. read more

Terrible facility. Front desk staff is very unsupportive. I went there in extreme pain and was turned away because they said they would not accept my United Health Care insurance. When I called United Health Care, they said Sutter Urgent Care in Auburn, Ca is covered by United Health Care. So the front desk staff at Sutter Urgent Care in Auburn are very untrained and are only there to draw a paycheck. read more
