Service was quick and ramen was good and flavorful! More of a fusion place than typical traditional ramen but not against it! Had a lot of fun arcade games, pool, and a bar and then having live music was great for the weekend. Overall good vibe.

I was craving soup so to see Ramen Noodle on the menu was awesome! They have several different types. I was happy with the flavor and variety of ingredients. The noodles could have been a bit more authentic but I would order it again. I enjoyed the game room connected to the bar. Yay for some foosball! The most memorable part of the night was the one man band who apparently comes out weekly! He is very talented and has fun with the audience. I would also come back for his entertainment. The service is the only draw back. The female bartender who is known for the Trucker Hats she wears was extremely rude and offensive. The male bartender seemed like he was ready to be anywhere but behind the bar but he did make a good drink. I hate to end a review on a negative note but the service needs to be addressed before I add another star to this review.

Always a great time at Suttree's. Excellent beer and liquor selection, half the bar has pinball and old school arcade games, pool and foosball. Great music, awesome bands and a very friendly staff. The food is top notch. Best ramen in town, and other unique food options! Can't go wrong with the Sutt's Dog and a cold pint! Thanks y'all!

Loved this ramen spot! The atmosphere is fun and lively, with a huge bar perfect for big groups. We stopped by after brewfest and it was just what we needed. The Shin Black ramen was delicious! As a ramen aficionado who's had it in Tokyo and all over the US, I wouldn't say this was the best I've ever had, but it's a tasty fusion twist. If you're in the area and craving great ramen and craft beer, this is the place to go.

MY VERY FAVORITE KNOXVILLE RAMEN!!!!! It might deceive you as just a fun bar, but this place has the best ramen you can find downtown!!!! Quick service, order at the counter, and enjoy a beer while you have the most amazing ramen ever! Love the fun atmosphere, and sometimes there is a band!

Fun, low-key vibes in this no-frills bar. Great beer and booze selection and a fun combination of a bar with arcade games on one side and a bar with food and tables/seating on the other. We went to the bar (where you go to order all drinks and food) and were greeted fairly quickly. The menu is pretty straight forward and we had come to try out the ramen. My friend and I both opted for the Matt's Ramen, which had smoked pork, pickled carrots, poached egg, scallions, and kimchi, reg, not spicy. Our buzzer went off, letting us know our order was ready, but we had no clue where to go to snag it. I had to go to the other side to ask a random worker and they brought out 1 of 2 ramen bowls and walked away before I could ask about the other. We waited another 15 minutes for the second bowl to come out. It seemed that other nearby tables had the same timing issue. If you're not in a rush and don't mind one person eating while the other sits awkwardly, have at it! ;-) The ramen itself was great. Even the regular was pretty spicy, with both of us having runny noses from the heat. The broth was really complex and tasty, the meat fall-apart tender, and the egg perfectly poached. It was a sizable portion and I couldn't even eat the whole bowl. I probably would have brought the rest home but didn't want to go on the treasure hunt to find staff again. It was hoppin' on a Sunday evening, as was Gay St. in general. Great ramen and beer spot, but don't expect 5-star service when it's busy or a sparkling clean interior. I would come back again when we have time to spare and try out the game side.

If you want beer, they got it. They also serve ramen but I passed just having ramen over the weekend. Instead I opted for royale with cheese - short rib sandwich and was very pleased. Just the kind of place I want to visit when out of town working

Nothing to think about if you like Ramen. After eating here, you will love their Ramen. Don't second guess it. We come here every time we visit Knox. Better than any ramen we've had in our hometown of Atlanta. And a plethora of craft beers on tap.

We also had the drunken noodles and the spicy chicken steamed buns. I will say that the portions feel small for the apps and buns. Entrées are filling. Some of the meat in the drunken noodles were tough, others was nice and soft. Service was good. Ambiance is small and feels quaint, they have a patio outside in the back. 8/10

There are several nearby lots also pay-to-park but some may be free on weekends. Kaizen appears to me to be more akin to an Izakaya than a noodle hosue, where you basically go for drinks and they supply some food to keep things going - it has a more expansive menu than an Izakaya (which tends to be yakitori and sushi) - Kaizen's menu features several noodle dishes which all looked very interesting. We started with the appetizers and ordered some mixed steamed buns and soup. All of the buns that I tried I liked quite a bit - some strong, distinctive flavors. For an entree I ordered the Koji-Cured Ribeye medium-rare - 12 oz sliced ribeye, gai lan, broad bean paste, steamed rice. The steak was cooked perfectly. The service was exceptional - the next night we tried Fin-Two Japanese Ale House across the street - this restaurant was my preference - the flavors seemed more authentic and the quality of the dishes better in my opinion.

We reluctantly ordered, against our better judgment, and I'll say up front that it was a mistake. Service was weird. The guy just stared at us with a blank expression. There was no greeting, small talk, or chitchat. I wasn't sure where to order, so I just walked back and forth around the counter, depending on where on the menu I was looking. He didn't make a peep until telling me the total. I've never had the silent treatment from someone on customer service before, lol. I ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen with Chashu Pork protein. The broth was lukewarm, flavorless, and didn't taste like any tonkatsu I've ever had. Was very disappointed. The egg was cold, and overly salty. It's as if they used preserved eggs, soaked them in soy sauce for years, then slated it again before adding it to the broth straight from the fridge. The other toppings didn't seem fresh at all. Half the bowl was spinach, but is wasn't fresh, and was extremely bitter. This is the first time I've ever seen spinach as a ramen ingredient, and it ruined this dish (note: I love spinach, but this was obviously bad). Overall, the did was bad. Nothing seemed to work together, and it seemed to be ill prepared. Lots of flying bugs, and with the majority the food open air... not gonna try the poke. We were the only customers during the entire lunch "rush". That was the final red flag that determines we will not return. I don't think this was an off-day, I think this place is just not good. Our experience was terrible.
