Outdoor seating area - super cute!
    Anna S.

It's not that easy to find Trinidadian food in general throughout the states, so we're so blessed to be in New York where you can access a wide range of food from other countries. (And authentic as well!) Everyday feels like a food tour of finding unique places with food we haven't indulged. The shop is small, consisting of just a counter inside for ordering. No indoor seating, but there is a small display of premade patties and pastries you can grab as well as drink options. They do have a nice extensive outdoor seating to the right of the entrance. We got the: - chickpea double 10/10 - currant roll 9/10 - Suzy's Bacchanal Roti 11/10. WOW! - Suzy's special Sorrel 8/10 - Suzy's special Mauby 1/10 acquired taste The chickpea double might sound simple and not look visually appealing when packed to go but it's so flavorful! I was amazed by the seasoning and for $3 it's a fun snack to try. My favorite was the Suzy's Bacchanal Roti platter. You get a mix of different meats (oxtail, chicken, goat) and veggies (spinach, squash, potatoes) I might have missed some other items, but the stew sauce was so tasty. I wanted to cook some rice to clearly taste the contract of a simple unflavored rice with the flavorful sauce. The dish does come with a roti on the side, you can choose between dhalpuri (ground split peas inside) and buss-up-shut (plain). If you don't want roti, they also have the rice & bean option. For the home made drinks, I like the sorrel - which was mostly hibiscus based with hint of star anise. It was a very refreshing drink for the summer. The Mauby took me by surprise. My partner and I both agree our first reaction when we took our first sip was that it tasted like shampoo. I would say if you're a first timer, the Mauby is definitely an acquired taste. I think the ingredient in the drink comes with health benefits - but I just can't get over the strange after taste. The currant roll is a nice pastry at the end to satisfy your sweet craving after the delicious savory meal. I highly recommend to give this place a try and spread the words! Can't wait to come back again and bring friends to tryout this place.

So delicious!!! This local roti shop is such a joy, it's small and doesn't have inside seating but pre-ordering and picking up is just as good! My beef patty, curry chicken roti, and curry goat roti were ready to pick up within minutes. Food was well packaged and steaming hot. I love how homey and warm the curry was, the taste is familiar and very seasoned. Pepper sauce was my favorite thing to pour onto the roti. And I WILL be getting the beef patty again. My girlfriend and I enjoyed our take out meal so much, we'll be back!

Still consistently good. Great portion size, great taste. Pick up or order delivery directly from them to save 3rd party fees.

This food makes me do a happy dance! I swear it feeds my soul. The veggie options are so flavorful, and I dream of the tamarind balls baby. Thank you Suzy.

This place was a staple when I was in highschool and decided to get it again recently. Suzy's does not disappoint. The food is so flavorful and is always packed to the brim. The service is friendly and quick. 1. Oxtail roti with Dhalpuri (8/10): The roti was very large and had a lot of meat inside it. It was perfectly paired with the roti. Watch out for the bones inside! The meat was soft and tender. 2. Mom's Mac Pie (7/10): This was delicious but was missing some flavor and definitely not as good as I remember it to be. 3. Stew Chicken Rice & Beans (8.5/10): The meat was soft and tender and was super flavorful. The rice and beans were delicious. This was definitely one of my favorite things to get from here. Definitely a place I would go back to! It was a more pricey than I remember but they really try to give you as much as they can.

The food is very flavorful and the prices aren't bad. They don't have indoor seating anymore, but there are a few tables and a bench outside. There's a small counter by the entryway and they bring your order out to you once it's ready. The outdoor seating is cute and great in the spring/summer if you want to eat there. On my last visit I had the stewed chicken roti, oxtail double, and the mac pie. The meats were very tender and juicy and the mac pie was pretty good, too.

Came for the Vegan Doubles. Tried both the veggie $5 and the chickpea $3, then had to order two more they were so good. The spicing is sweet and full of flavor with a hint of herb and curry. Also tried the house Sorrel tea / juice $5 and it was a perfect compliment. Service was friendly and fast, and food was ready in less than 5min. The indoor section is just a kitchen and take out order counter, but there are tables outside on the side of the building with a little bit of green astroturf and fun flare to make it worth staying to eat if the weather allows. Lots of delivery people picking up during the afternoon visit- so see if they deliver to you too!

Once upon a time I loved this place, but man oh man how times have changed. Where do I begin... The bake and salt fish was a huge disappointment. The bake itself was flavorless and pale. The only saving grace was the salt fish, but they were stingy with it. The roti was wrapped like a burrito. The flavor was ok but it wasn't anything special. Pholourie: was good, but they forgot my tamarind sauce and pepper Current roll: the only thing that made me happy. I'm not sure what happened to this place, but it's a hard pass for me.

Very busy. No one out front so ring that bell.

Lomein was great very tasty! Boneless roti was not. Very bland and very small Bake and saltfish were tasty but the bake was as white as wonder bread.

Why did I wait so long to come here?!…read more I mean, I know why. It's a bit of a trek from where I live. But I'll happily travel for good food, and Trinciti absolutely justified the journey. As an Indian, I don't say this lightly. I know my Indian food. I was already aware of the historical overlap between Indian and Caribbean cuisines, but Trinidadian food fascinated me. The familiar spices and flavors are there, yet they've evolved into something entirely their own. You can taste the migration story, the adaptation, and the creativity in every bite. A quick practical note because Instagram reels had me misinformed. They do take cards. You don't need cash. Also, parking isn't exactly abundant, and there aren't many nearby places to sit with your takeaway. My advice is to grab a table and eat there. The space itself is small and pretty no-frills, so if you're coming for ambiance, this isn't that kind of place. But if you're coming for flavor, you're in exactly the right place. The setup is simple. You line up, order when it's your turn, and move things along. It's a busy spot, so a little menu reconnaissance goes a long way. The staff are efficient and patient, but they're not mind readers. Asking them whether shrimp or chicken is "better" feels like asking someone whether you should prefer chocolate or vanilla. Both are good. It depends on what you like. We ordered the dhalpuri roti, which is a soft flatbread stuffed with seasoned ground lentils. If you're sharing, ask for it not to be wrapped. Otherwise, it comes rolled up like a wrap. We filled ours with both the curried goat and the oxtail because we weren't there to play it safe. Both were excellent, paired with those comforting, home-style potatoes that soak up all the flavor without overwhelming you with spice. I also couldn't leave without trying the doubles, and we kept it plain. Oh. My. God. Flavor bomb. At its heart, it reminded me of chole bhature's distant cousin. The same comforting chickpea soul, but interpreted through Trinidad's lens with pepper sauces and chutneys that make it unmistakably its own. I honestly think the chutneys are what take it over the top. For the bake and shark though Pay first, take your number, and when they call you up, tell them how you'd like it dressed. Personally, I have a "trust the chef and give me everything" philosophy, so I said yes to it all. The result was a glorious mess of crispy fried shark piled high with pineapple, lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, and an array of vibrant chutneys that I am still thinking about. They do not skimp on the fish. Watching them assemble it from the front row is part of the fun. Before you leave, do not skip the cassava cake. The raisin dessert was a bit too sweet for my taste, but that's entirely personal and worth trying if you have a sweeter tooth than I do. They also sell plenty of snacks and hot sauces, so take a look around before heading out. One final thing I appreciated. They have a restroom and a sink stocked with soap. Trust me, you are going to get messy. That's part of the joy of eating here. If you're the kind of person who side-eyes people for eating with their hands, this might not be your scene. If you're willing to embrace the delicious chaos, Trinciti will reward you generously. I left full, happy, and wondering why I had let distance keep me away for so long. Some places are worth the drive. Trinciti is absolutely one of them.

My Trini friend was shocked that I;ve never had doubles and so this day was my lucky day. When you reach, the servers take your order along with as many toppings and additions. They also had bake and shark, bake and saltfish, and other items to choose from such as dhal puri roti, pholourie with tamarind sauce, it was my first time so I didn't go too crazy and wanted to appreciate the essence of the doubles. I would go back again. It is takeout, so don't get too comfy. Make sure you're ready to grab your order and take that first bite after you leave or reach your destination!
