Don't be discouraged if you see a long line! It goes by pretty fast. This cute shop offers a wide variety of selections but is also a fusion of Trinidad and Chinese cuisines. We wanted to get the currant roll an sea moss drink but they were both out. The items we got were beef patty, cassava pone, shrimp roti, and pan bread. They were all tasty but I wasn't mind blown by any of them. The staff were friendly and efficient. This place is cash only!

Trinidad Chinese is the type of Chinese food I grew up eating, so this spot is wildly nostalgic for me. The Asian flavors amplified but still its a very unique twist. It's not that they've tried to change the original Chinese recipes but more with having a major Chinese population in the Caribbean and back then having had to use local spices/ingredients that were more abundant than than the traditional ones. It's a mash up of culture just like everyone in the Caribbean. Anyway.. food now - history you can Google. The line is ALWAYS out the door. This is they way it is, and the way it will stay. It does move along but that's to place orders and they you wait again for your food. Thisbis take out, the space is not too big but the staff moves quickly . Food is prepared when you order no hot tables with food displayed , so again if you dont know what's in what Google the items on the menu before you go and be ready to order ( also have a back up of other options because its likely that one or 2 of your items have been sold out ,especially depending on the time of day you go. On display is the bread and bakery items. Even if you didn't intend of getting those the smell of freshly baked items with rope you in. Often the inside line is customers waiting for certain items like the Currants Rolls in the oven. The staff is really good at giving you the end baking time , so you can pay and come back to pick up bakery items . Come back in the time they give you ,not hours later, that's not how it works . The food is fresh as it is prepared when you order. Typically 10 to 15 mins . The food is piping hot - I'm not kidding. My hubby had the chicken lo mein and it was still hot when he finished the last bites. Prices are good and I think the bakery prices are really on the low end . Get the cake , get the currants roll, coconut rolls- get any sweet treat . The bread and coconut bakes are honestly expensive elsewhere and the quality and prices here are a steal. I always get the house special- its fried rice, lo mein, chow mein and quarter chicken - $14 . Shrimp wantons are a favorite (fried) Theyre so good, eat them hot. They have some weekends special curried crab and dumplings, roti etc and say a pray that it won't be sold out before you head over. Cause for every minute you plan on going earlier there's 30 people with that same plan lol. Also - CASH ONLY

The house special's a delicious Trini Chinese indulgence of a kind I haven't permitted myself since Sylvia's on Church Avenue closed. Generously and cheerfully served.

Food is soo good. Unbeatable prices Highly recommend the doubles with tamarind sauce! Cash only

I've seen this place for YEARS and the line was always long so never been. Saw one video of the famous Nicolas come try and I just had to stand on the line to see myself! My father being from Trinidad, Idk how I waited so long but I'm glad I finally gave it a try. Now I think about it way too often. From the baked goods to the hot food?! They got it! I haven't tried a roti yet because I love the house special. It gets me right EVERYTIME! Next time maybe I'll get a roti. But every visit I pick up a few beef patties because it's hard finding good patties in the neighborhood. They ALWAYS have them too ; they're crispy with the perfect amount of filling and alil spice to it. The house special comes with rice lomein veggies and chicken with the brown sauce on top and alil on the side, with some peppaaaa lawd. It's soo good ! I tried their chicken soup before too. 10's across the board! Like nic said, they current roll not dry! They just come out after 3 :/ Just prepare yourself to stand on a long line. Some times you'll get lucky and it's not all the way outside or wrapped around inside.

    Tasty beef pie.

Bit of a placeholder review for me, don't want to forget to try this place again. The reason it's a placeholder is because we showed up a bit after 8 and they were sold out of nearly all of their savory items. We were able to grab two beef pies for $3. They were very tasty and let me know that the rest of the stuff must be delicious also. Still kicking myself for not grabbing a few of their sweet items that were available. Will certainly have to return.

Some of the best doubles I've had in Brooklyn! This restaurant is always busy with a line out the door. They are CASH ONLY, so be prepared! Everything is super affordable and tasty. They have savory food items as well as their own bakery and sweet things. It's quite busy and can be loud once you enter the restaurant so be sure to figure out what you want ahead of time. Even when there's a line though, it moves. And the food is well worth the wait!

Greeted with a warm smile at the very clean counter with fresh aroma of baked good as soon as you open the door!! Ordered the chicken lo-mein, curry chicken with rice and peas, a chicken and beef patty. . Absolutely mouth watering delightful entrees . Topped it with the following: cupcake, raisin bun, and out of the oven bread pudding! You will not be disappointed. A must try!!!

Why did I wait so long to come here?!…read more I mean, I know why. It's a bit of a trek from where I live. But I'll happily travel for good food, and Trinciti absolutely justified the journey. As an Indian, I don't say this lightly. I know my Indian food. I was already aware of the historical overlap between Indian and Caribbean cuisines, but Trinidadian food fascinated me. The familiar spices and flavors are there, yet they've evolved into something entirely their own. You can taste the migration story, the adaptation, and the creativity in every bite. A quick practical note because Instagram reels had me misinformed. They do take cards. You don't need cash. Also, parking isn't exactly abundant, and there aren't many nearby places to sit with your takeaway. My advice is to grab a table and eat there. The space itself is small and pretty no-frills, so if you're coming for ambiance, this isn't that kind of place. But if you're coming for flavor, you're in exactly the right place. The setup is simple. You line up, order when it's your turn, and move things along. It's a busy spot, so a little menu reconnaissance goes a long way. The staff are efficient and patient, but they're not mind readers. Asking them whether shrimp or chicken is "better" feels like asking someone whether you should prefer chocolate or vanilla. Both are good. It depends on what you like. We ordered the dhalpuri roti, which is a soft flatbread stuffed with seasoned ground lentils. If you're sharing, ask for it not to be wrapped. Otherwise, it comes rolled up like a wrap. We filled ours with both the curried goat and the oxtail because we weren't there to play it safe. Both were excellent, paired with those comforting, home-style potatoes that soak up all the flavor without overwhelming you with spice. I also couldn't leave without trying the doubles, and we kept it plain. Oh. My. God. Flavor bomb. At its heart, it reminded me of chole bhature's distant cousin. The same comforting chickpea soul, but interpreted through Trinidad's lens with pepper sauces and chutneys that make it unmistakably its own. I honestly think the chutneys are what take it over the top. For the bake and shark though Pay first, take your number, and when they call you up, tell them how you'd like it dressed. Personally, I have a "trust the chef and give me everything" philosophy, so I said yes to it all. The result was a glorious mess of crispy fried shark piled high with pineapple, lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, and an array of vibrant chutneys that I am still thinking about. They do not skimp on the fish. Watching them assemble it from the front row is part of the fun. Before you leave, do not skip the cassava cake. The raisin dessert was a bit too sweet for my taste, but that's entirely personal and worth trying if you have a sweeter tooth than I do. They also sell plenty of snacks and hot sauces, so take a look around before heading out. One final thing I appreciated. They have a restroom and a sink stocked with soap. Trust me, you are going to get messy. That's part of the joy of eating here. If you're the kind of person who side-eyes people for eating with their hands, this might not be your scene. If you're willing to embrace the delicious chaos, Trinciti will reward you generously. I left full, happy, and wondering why I had let distance keep me away for so long. Some places are worth the drive. Trinciti is absolutely one of them.

My Trini friend was shocked that I;ve never had doubles and so this day was my lucky day. When you reach, the servers take your order along with as many toppings and additions. They also had bake and shark, bake and saltfish, and other items to choose from such as dhal puri roti, pholourie with tamarind sauce, it was my first time so I didn't go too crazy and wanted to appreciate the essence of the doubles. I would go back again. It is takeout, so don't get too comfy. Make sure you're ready to grab your order and take that first bite after you leave or reach your destination!
