It was a big win going to Sveta. I had been waiting till closer to our trip to set a fun Saturday night dinner reservation. When we were a couple weeks out, all the spots I had earmarked were booked. So I scrambled. I found a few other interesting dinner spots but My gal and I already had Sveta tagged, so I went with that. It was our friends first time to New York so I was trying to make it memorable. Sveta was a great call as its definity memorable. Us 2 couples walked in for our reservation and us guys felt a little funny. It was a million pink flowers everywhere. It was pretty cool, and I knew rthe girls were liking it. We took a few pics before we even had our table. Their drinks are definitely interesting, and photographic. Our friend won best drink as it was literally the magic box from the movie "Big". crazy. The dinner was very good as well, and the pics they took of us for a small charge was a nice bonus. If you want a fun time, you will here.
Very Alice in wonderland vibes and serving size is pretty good but very showy and expensive for the price. Service is okay and decor is all over the place which looks good but makes the table feel cluttered. Good to go once for images but wouldn't go again.
My friend and I came across videos of these beautiful Disney inspired cocktail displays at Sveta on Instagram so we definitely wanted to check it out. I had a reservation for a Sunday afternoon at 1:00pm. My friend and I arrived and were seated right away. The tables were pretty close to each other, so prepare to get cozy and not have much room to wander around. Sveta was beautifully decorated from the outside to the inside to the bathroom with decorations. I got the Beauty & the Beast cocktail and my friend got Cinderella's Crown. WOW! The displays were very charming and certainly elevated our experience. The Beauty & the Beast cocktail was in Mrs. Potts and came on a tray with Lumière, Chip, and a blue rose. My friend's Cinderella's Crown came with a glass slipper and a huge crown. The drinks were good. We also got a pineapple lychee mimosa with a candy cane which was also very good. For food, I had the New York Breakfast with no bacon. The New York Breakfast was a toasted croissant, two eggs, bacon aged white cheddar, chipotle mayo served with house fries. The croissant was toasted perfectly and flaky. The house fries were crispy. Service was great and friendly. We stayed here for about 2 hours catching up and had a great time. There is only 1 bathroom for all the guests so be prepared to wait in line if the restaurant is busy. The check comes in a book storage box which is really cool since I'm a book reader and not very common. On the check, it indicates a cash discount if you pay cash and an automatic 18% gratuity and operating fee added. I'm definitely interested in seeing what other drinks Sveta will come up next!
Sveta on Carmine Street is an absolute gem in the West Village! From the moment you step inside you feel as if you are in an enchanted garden, you're greeted with a warm, vibrant atmosphere that makes you feel instantly welcomed. The décor is very next level, it piqued my curiosity to check out this amazing restaurant! This is a great spot for a date night, a girls' night out, or a fun dinner with friends. The food looks amazing, I enjoyed various drinks with my friend. Every dish that passed by our table was packed with bold, creative plating and beautifully presented. You can tell the chefs put real thought and passion into the menu. The cocktails are just as impressive--unique, well-balanced, and dangerously delicious! What really makes Sveta stand out is the service. The staff is genuinely friendly, attentive, and always ready with great recommendations. They make you feel like a valued guest from start to finish. If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience in NYC, Sveta on Carmine Street should absolutely be at the top of your list. Highly recommended!
Sveta has done it again. I really enjoyed this month's circus theme, as the entire space was beautifully decorated. They are detail-oriented and absolutely take pride in their food and service. Our waiter, Constantine, had an awesome personality and was extremely helpful throughout our time there. As this is my third visit, I've been meaning to try the Ukrainian Borscht, which was delicious, especially with the addition of sour cream! Everything was great; their food is always consistent, the prices are reasonable and the overall experience always has us leaving with smiles!
Drinks were fantastic and worth the hype. The ambiance was also very cool. The food was just ok. I had the breakfast sandwich and the eggs looked like and tasted like they were from a basic diner. The eggs did not look fresh. The avocado toast was descent just not flavorful. It was just avocado and toast with a tasty salad on the side.
Sveta definitely has the most innovative and fun cocktails out of any bar. We had multiple cocktails and each were served with a unique presentation. I loved the Cinderella's crown drink the most! The restaurant is not that large but has several tables and tons of decor. When we arrived at 6pm, the restaurant was quiet but by 7:30pm it has gotten completely full. We also had some food - dips and pita, cauliflower, chicken and shrimp - the food was all very good as well. We also had the devils kiss dessert which was yummy. The drinks are expensive $22 and up - but it's because of the time intensive work that goes into preparing them. Service started out very good but as the restaurant became full, it definitely became less attentive as they only had two servers (one of which was also the bartender). I didn't see this disclosed on the menu but when we received the check, there was a $10 "operating fee" charged. Not sure the point of this - they should simply just increase the price of some items. Nonetheless, this was a fun and enjoyable experience. Will definitely be back. Note - their menu online is not updated and may be different when you arrive in person.
This is a such magical spot in Manhattan! The restaurant is fully decked out in flowers - autumn colors for the season I came here for the vibes and drinks only because I saw these Disney inspired cocktails on social media and I wanted to get myself some of these drinks as a Disney fan! I got both drinks as mocktails (because I read reviews that the drinks were pretty strong!) and they tasted fruity and delicious! The Beauty and the Beast cocktail ($22) was this peach flavored drink and the Paint a Perfect Picture cocktail ($22) was this watermelon drink although I thought I tasted lychee?? (Not complaining because I love lychee!) I took a hundred photos in there and had a super fun time! The painting drink was super cute - you can take the canvas home too! Finally, the service was great - I felt bad getting a table because i was just ordering drinks but the server insisted on me sitting at a table because they had room which was nice!
Came here for a friend's bridal shower to have brunch, take photos, meet the girls and have a great time. This place has beautiful floral decor hung above their ceilings and their plating styles are also quite whimsical. It's a cute place for an impromptu celebration! If you come on the weekend, you are also likely to find parking if you're early enough near the school if you'd like to drive out to the city as well. Anyway, once seated, we were given waters and menus. The wait staff gave us a bit of time to decide on drinks first as we waited for the other girls to arrive. Once ordered, as stated above, the drinks came in some beautiful glassware (coffee/tea) or even a treasure box! If photos and instagram are your thing, it's definitely worth a few shots. I stuck with water so I can't comment on the taste of the drinks. We ordered some fries and dumplings (both veal and potato since someone on our table could not eat veal) to share and the fries hit the spot! I ordered a chicken and waffles and the presentation was stunning. I loved the taste and it was surprisingly filling despite not looking like a lot of food. Overall, if you like a whimsical atmosphere, hit up this spot. It gives me Alice's Tea Cup vibes if you've ever been. If you have a celebration, they do have this fun sparkler of a candle that's going to bring the WOW factor as well. Deducted a star because one of the wait staff accidentally spilled a drink (it wasn't the drink-able portion, but blue water + dry ice). I get it, accidents happen but I think it's the wait staff's attitude that was a bit flippant as opposed to attentive (I'm also being a bit more nit-picky).
You can't help but feel the love when you walk in the door. They were very much still celebrating love- with flowers and hearts everywhere- which was fun. They have an entire menu of very creatively presented drinks. I've never seen anything like it. We shared the avocado salad, and landed on borscht - which was perfectly prepared and the braised short rib with polenta cakes was melt in your mouth delicious. Our server brought a lovely shot to round out our dinner. Everything was fabulous.
My wife and mother in law were dying to try this place. With the way I look and how the restaurant was portrayed. I knew I came to the wrong place. Flowers all over the place and I was wearing a second amendment shirt. Felt a bit out of place but I didn't pick this spot. So I was just a bystander. Also need to mention we arrived on a Friday around 1-2pm. Upon entry a group of girls entered;also can't tell what they were celebrating but it was very loud inside. The single bathroom had a line so long not even regular customers had a chance to use. And when I say loud, the group just kept showing up and up and up. It was hectic inside. I'm sure it's not like this everyday but we were the chosen ones that day. I could even see the chaotic responses from the waiter. Yikes! Once the food was ordered it didn't take that long for it to arrive. After the food hit the table and the first bite was taken I have to admit, I've had better versions from companies that sell frozen options at my local grocery store. I was not impressed. 18 dollars can buy you an entire bag of pilmeni or vareniki where I'm from. Better quality as well. The dough wrapped around it had no flavor. I get it, it's just dough but even the meat or potato's inside were extremely bland as well. Nothing special, Definitely needed salt. Definitely did not feel homemade.m either. My babushka would not be impressed, I guarantee it.

Since we were coming from outside of town, we really wanted to experience it. All the fancy drinks come in alcohol or mocktail versions. So adult or kid friendly. They are pricey, but we planned for it ($15-$25 a specialty drink) The food was good portions and priced well (same as any other breakfast place so pretty fair) The place is clean, very photo worthy, so cute!!!! The waiter we had was great! Hassaan I believe was his name, he was amazing. Gave recommendations, made sure our table was taken care of and had great customer service. Thank you! The food wasnt just pretty, it was good too. Its great for those visiting, date nights, special occasions, or girls brunch. I would highly recommend. They did great in presentation of food, drinks, overall resturant, taste is amazing and the waiter was great.

An amazing brunch experience especially on holidays. This place goes above and beyond in terms of decor, service, and ambiance. The cocktails are amazing and very clever, you will take alot of pictures for Instagram. The food is just above average, but you really are there for the decor and drinks! We went during Halloween 2025 and had an amazing time. Special thanks to the staff who served us at the bar while waiting for our table. Ambiance: 5/5. Although a little small, it's more cozy than crowded. There are decorations wall to wall (and ceilings) during the holidays. The bar is not really meant for kids but they will enjoy the spectacle as much as adults. Drinks: 5/5. Each drink is creative, well mixed, and STRONG. Worth the higher price tag for the artistry. Food: 4/5. Good but not amazing. Solid brunch options and portion sizes, and solid for the price. Service: 4.5/5. Attentive, polite and efficient despite the large crowds coming into this place. read more

Lovely brunch spot in West Village. My friends put our names down at a different restaurant down the street, but we couldn't get seated by 11am and ended up at Sveta instead. This was my secret hope because they post their menu outside, and it got me daydreaming about trying all their delicious European cuisine. The interior is gorgeous! SO MANY FLOWERS. Would love to come back for dinner someday. For my entrée, I got the steak, potatoes, and eggs. Our table shared the Traditional Borscht, and I got a Bloody Mary. I'm surprised at how empty this place was, but maybe it's more poppin' at dinnertime. I look forward to trying more of their menu! read more

Good food, mediocre service. I went to Sveta for brunch to celebrate a friend's birthday. The interior design was definitely eye-catching: vibrant, colorful, and fun but a bit more saturated and cluttered than I expected. I ordered the avocado toast with egg and lox, which was tasty, and the drinks came in very cute and creative cups that added a playful touch to the meal. Unfortunately, the experience with our waitress left something to be desired. The birthday girl had hoped to get one of the prettier cups for a photo and even offered to buy another drink just for it, but the waitress repeatedly said no without much explanation. It felt unnecessarily rigid and disappointing, especially since the request was simple and festive. On top of that, the waitress seemed a bit moody and distant, barely checking on us after pouring water. On a brighter note, the photographer on site was absolutely lovely. He was friendly, warm, and even Russian-speaking, which made for a pleasant conversation. For dessert, we had donuts served on a mini Ferris wheel, which was a really charming touch. Even the bathroom had cute decor, which matched the whimsical vibe of the place. Overall, the food and atmosphere were solid, but the service brought the experience down a notch. read more
Been wanting to try this restaurant out for quite sometime and it did not disappoint. As soon as you enter you're greeted with flowers all over the walls and beautiful interior walls. Absolutely stunning! Whoever designed this restaurant deserves all the guests that walk in and out. Going in for just a drink- thinking it would be just a regular drink. When she brings me this tray with all the beauty and beast characters my mouth dropped. Smoke was coming out the teapot, blinking all sorts of colors. All i can think to myself at that moment was " wow, i absolutely feel like a true Queen. " Everyone was so kind, patient & friendly. As time kept passing they convinced me to eat. Once she told me they had coconut shrimp i said " oh yeah let me get that". And wow, wow, wow! Yummmy !!! Honestly that touch of avocado was brilliant, different, & tasting. 10/10. Apparently they make their tarter sauce from scratch, which was also tasteful. Bathroom were exquisitely decorated, clean, & just beautiful. If you're looking for a fancy cute date night I highly recommend this Restaurant. read more
First time here, the inside was very touristy trap/Instagramy. The food was okay, glad I tried it but I wouldn't go back, it's a bit too tacky and the food wasn't anything special. I especially didn't appreciate the full Christmas ornament in my drink, there is no way those things are being cleaned properly. read more

I loved Sveta! The GM contacted me before my reservation and was so nice and friendly when i told him me and my friends were running late, he didint mind accommodating. The food portions were very small. this place is nice for a quick (small) bite and drinks for the rest of the day. one of the girls food took over 20 min to arrive and we were a little upset about it but a worker came by and brought us free shot cups for each of the girls (in the house fr) as an apology. they were so sweet i seriously would come again for the amazing customer service and drinks read more
I can't speak about the food here but the drinks and service were great! We stopped here to grab a drink before heading to Nami Nori. Fair price for the drinks and the bartender was very pleasant and gave good service! The drinks were also so so good! read more

Love to have brunch at Sveta!!! Honestly feels like stepping into a fairytale. The moment you walk in, you're surrounded by gorgeous floral décor that makes the whole space feel romantic and cozy. The cocktails are truly the star here - whimsical, creative, and presented like something out of a storybook. Not only do they look stunning, but they taste amazing too. The food was just as impressive: flavorful, beautifully plated, and portions that left us perfectly satisfied. Service was warm and attentive, and the overall vibe is a perfect mix of classy and fun. Whether you're planning a date, celebrating with friends, or just want to treat yourself, this spot is a must in the West Village. I really enjoyed the holiday decor for Sveta during our visit. The seasonal cocktails were all artfully done, however it looked to be more for show than for taste (the mojito was good though). For appetizers, the borscht was delicious and a massive portion. For entrees, the steak frites were a little over cooked but the chicken Tabaka was incredibly tasty, the sauce was fantastic and the chicken was cooked well. read more

Sveta is a huge no for me! Four of us made a reservation for this last Saturday night and we were all so excited for the holiday cheer and cocktails! What we got was not much cheer and a terrible experience. The reservation was at 7:15 and we showed up on time, the line was literally out the door and when we checked in for the reservation the person could not find it until we showed the confirmation email (something about the reservation moving over to Resy). Anyway the person told us to wait outside and he would bring champagne, no champagne ever arrived and we watched the person continue to seat people who came after us (along with a group of guys who were friends with the restaurant staff). We asked if we could sit at the bar and order drinks, which an exception was made... we ordered a round of drinks and the person who checked us in told us that he would comp the first round... we also ordered French fries which we never got and had to ask where they were. Anyway, I complained a few times and was told that the table in the corner was ours, however, it was only set for three people, so we marched over to the table and sat ourselves down (it was already 8:45 at this point) Finally the server came over and took our drink/appetizer order. We had a number of appetizers everything from the Burrata Mozzarella Crostini, to the savory dips. We then ordered our main courses, I had the Black Linguine Tiger Shrimp and my boyfriend had the Beef Stroganoff (all the food was really good, however, I woke up this morning with a horrible case of food poisoning from the Shrimp) We were given our bills and we noticed that we were charged for the initial round of drinks, which I pointed out to the server and she said "oh right, the Saturday special" not sure what that means but it sounds like horrible service is a common issue! Sveta: A Cozy Gem with a Few Growing Pains I recently visited Sveta for a belated birthday dinner with my best friend after seeing it raved about on TikTok. Let me just say, the experience didn't disappoint! When we arrived, the restaurant was already decked out in Christmas decorations, which I absolutely loved since Christmas is my favorite holiday. It added such a festive and magical touch to the atmosphere. Thankfully, we didn't have to wait for our table--something I had been worried about since I'd read reviews about long delays. The owner himself greeted us, and we learned the restaurant was named after his mom, which was such a sweet and personal detail. He even seated us, which made us feel extra special. For appetizers, we ordered the chicken shish kebab and shrimp dish. Both were flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and left us without a single complaint. For our entrées, my friend went with the black pasta linguine, and I opted for the steak with fries. My steak was cooked exactly as requested and tasted delicious, while my friend's pasta was equally satisfying. While Sveta is known for its extravagant drink presentations, we decided to keep it simple. My friend got a mojito, and I ordered a cocktail (I can't remember the name!) that came with a light-up ornament--a fun and festive touch. Both drinks were refreshing and well-made. For dessert, we shared the chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream, which was absolutely to die for. It was the perfect ending to an already great meal. While the food and service were excellent, the restaurant's small size is a bit of a drawback. The space can feel tight, especially with the buzz it's getting. I think the owner could make some changes to elevate the experience--perhaps making it more exclusive and stricter with reservations, similar to how Carbone operates. This would add to its allure and also help manage the space better. Another small con was the draft from the front door. People waiting for tables kept leaving the door open, and it made everyone seated near the front, including us, a bit cold. Having someone stationed to manage this would be a big improvement. As we were leaving, the owner surprised us with complimentary shots, which was such a kind and thoughtful gesture. It left a lasting impression and capped off a wonderful evening. I'd love to return for brunch if I can snag a reservation! Overall, I highly recommend Sveta for its delicious food, warm service, and festive vibe--just be prepared for a cozy (and sometimes tight) dining experience. read more
It's so cute inside and they have tables outside if you want to dine with dogs (we did!) The brunch food was good and so were the cocktails. Had a hard time getting the server to pay the bill but that was our sole complaint. Would definitely return. read more

Booked this place for a girl's Christmas getaway and it did not disappoint! We loved the Christmas decorations, but the drink presentation was on point! We wanted to order all the drinks just to see the presentation and bonus, they were good! The food was amazing! I had the chicken kebab-excellent! Randomly came upon this place when we had some spare time before our dinner reservation in Greenwich village. We were all so happy we stopped. We only had drinks but they were so innovative and fun! We sat outside or try any food. But I'd love to go back and try more than just drinks. It's such a fun place! read more

Located in West Village, this place is such a vibe! I had been following them on IG and glad I experienced it. The decor alone gets 5 stars easily! Made a reservation for two for dinner on a Friday night. Reservations are recommended. There were almost no available seats. We were seated right away. I had looked at the menu ahead of time so I knew what I wanted. I got the "Pretty Woman" cocktail - vodka based and delicious. The presentation itself was amazing. I want another one! For food, I got the braised short rib, and even though it's under the starters, it was filling for me. It was so good. The service was excellent, and I would be excited to visit again! read more

Highly recommend to make a reservation on the weekend as this place is absolutely beautiful inside with amazing decorations and delicious food. The restaurant's interior, adorned with daisy decorations looks like a garden mixed with their outrageous drinks served in very creative fashions created a whimsical and inviting ambiance. A bit pricy, but the drinks are so unbelievably fabulous that it's worth coming. I got the Dove of Ukraine which came with a glass shaped like a dove, cotton candy, and feathers. It was so cute. On top of that, I saw other people's drinks come in containers shaped like purses, treasure chests, piggy banks, and perfume bottles. It's adorable and a great spot for a girls night. We had the pelmeni as well, which were very tasty. Love the decor - it's like spring exploded in the restaurant. The service, however, was just ok. Is there music and/or dancing on Saturday nights?
No there was no dancing. Music was playing but the place is not really set up for dancing as is small and the tables are somewhat close together. There is dancing going in on 3 blocks away tho
