No problem with the eye doctor (very good). However, the lady that handed out my glasses showed no interest in adjusting my new frames. I asked her to, but she put it back on me. Rather than argue, I simply accepted the glasses out of the box with no adjustments. I simply planned to return in a week to have one of the other very skilled people fix any problems. Of course they don't fit, they hurt my nose and I'm mostly wearing my old glasses. This is nonsense. The same thing happened with my last pair of glasses. My bifocals were too high because the nose rests and frames were not adjusted out of the box. I returned and found that my nose rests and fames were completely wrong. I had an extremely frustrating experience today, March 27 2026 I booked my appointment online and showed up on time, only to be told--after driving all the way there--that my appointment had been canceled. No call, no email, no notification whatsoever. When I asked why it was canceled, the receptionist said, "I don't know." Then it somehow got worse--she claimed that I had called and canceled my own appointment, which is completely false. Why would I go out of my way to drive there if I had canceled it? When I asked whether they notify patients when appointments are canceled, she again responded with, "I don't know if it notifies you or not." That level of confusion and lack of accountability is unacceptable. And then the only "solution" offered was to reschedule me for next Thursday morning. Why would I come back here after my appointment was canceled without any notification, only to be told it was somehow my fault? That's not a solution--that's doubling down on poor service. This was incredibly unprofessional from start to finish. Poor communication, inaccurate information, and zero accountability. I would strongly recommend going somewhere else. read more

they were amazing, and i didn't even get the glasses from there office. I did the exam and bought the glasses from another SVS vision in Wixom, but had them shipped the this SVS vision in Brighton. I only live 5 minutes for this location. For what ever reason i didn't get them from the Brighton location, it won't happen again. I was treated like there very best customer, they offered me all kinds of supplies. I was told to make sure to make regular visits for refittings and to even replace worn parts. I'm so glad i pickup my glasses from them and my whole family will get there glasses and contacts from the Brighton SVS vision from now on!!! Thank you for such great service! MEH read more

Had a very unpleasant experience here. The doctor was 15 minutes late for my appointment because he took a late lunch. Then, the receptionist were very rude and unwelcoming. The whole appointment was mostly just lights being shined in my eyes rather than checking my vision. Also did not like that the doctor touched my face and was close enough were his nose brushed my cheek. Felt pressured to pick glasses. Upon pickup the lady was very rude when I told her the prescription felt off and didn't believe me. I do not recommend and will not be back. Gave 2 stars because I like the Frame options. read more

The doctor is very friendly. He listened to my concerns and made adjustments to my prescription. However there seemed to be a little disagreement between office staff. The office manager seemed to be reprimanding another worker while myself and other patients were in the lobby. This seemed very unprofessional and was embarrassing to over hear. read more

Called to make an appointment and verify my insurance was accepted, the woman who answered was most unhelpful and said my insurance was not accepted, called my insurance provided and they informed me they do accept and all they would need to to is call. I called SVS back and got same woman that looked up my insurance on a web site for a second time and was unwilling to call the provider to verify. Again everyone was great but I made my appointment 2 days before, I received a few calls I wasn't able to get to them and when I called back it took me straight to a automated voice and it said it was just a reminder for my appointment so I didn't bother to reach a actual front desk employee. But when I came in for my appointment they said it got canceled because they need verbal confirmation. They were kind and able to me an appointment an hour later. i do not blame the workers! I have been wearing glasses for 40 years. This is the worst pair of glasses I have ever purchased. The people were nice & the frames are nice & lightweight but the doctor did not measure my eye distance correctly. I have to turn my head sideways to find the sweet spot. I was really impressed with this SVS location! I have gone to others and had good experiences, but this one was above and beyond to the point where I called all of my family to tell them how great my time there was. The appointment for my contacts and glasses was quick, easy, and stress-free. When picking out my glasses, the woman helping me told me to take a seat, asked what kinds of glasses I was looking for, and then picked a whole basket of options for me to try. I have purchased many pair of glasses at SVS, so in other words have contributed to their revenue. I purchased three pair of glasses prior to Covid for over one thousand dollars. One of the pair was way to big, and after trying to adjust them, the clerk said try them and I could return them if I was not happy. Covid hit and the business was obviously closed for months. I never wore the glasses because they were falling off of my face. I waited awhile to contact SVS because I, like most people, did not feel I needed unnecessary contact. I had a great experience at SVS! The reception was very friendly and accommodating. The eye doctor was very professional, yet had a dry sense of humor I got a kick out of. He's a delight! My eye exam was very thorough and the doc was able to answer any questions or concerns I came up with to my satisfaction. Checkout was a breeze, also handled by a friendly and professional lady. This is an updated review. I purchased frames at another location and they were the display pair and the associate assured me they would be okay. After wearing them a few days they stretched out and would not stay on my face. I had them adjusted and again, they continued to fall off. Came back to Brighton and the manager let me pick a whole new frame out. I am so satisfied with the interaction and assistance I received in picking a new pair out too. Do not go here... Doctors are good but the help not so good... They sell sub standard material/glasses. When I picked up my new glasses and was trying them on the lens fell out due to a missing screw/no quality. The girl tried to install an over sized screw and thought they were okay to wear, the screw was very visible. I requested a new pair. Took another week to get them but the lens fell out again a few days later. I called back to turn them in for a refund. I was told they had to talk with the manager/director and that they would call me back. It has now been 2 and a half months and still have had no call back. I will not be returning business here. I had a pair of safety glasses for 3 months, barely used. They fell off an end table while open and the right arm of the frames broke right off. I went back to get it fixed and apparently it didn't fall under warranty. They covered part of the cost, but charged me for the replacement frames. If you still decide to bring your business here don't but any of the Hudson frames. They are garbage. read more

Happy with the initial appointment/exam and help in picking out new frames. At the appointment to pick up my glasses I was unhappy with the frames that were delivered as the color was much different from those tried on in the store. The staff was willing and able to swap out the frames with one in the store for me. I would suggest that staff notify customers in advance that there may be a difference color for certain frames. Customers may steer clear of ordering those frames if notified upfront. Regardless I walked out the door with a pair of frames and lenses that I was satisfied with. read more

I must confirm that the front office employees are RUDE. I had to remind the lady abt exactly what my prescription was. Distance vision was ok, but when I got home and got on my computer I couldn't read it.Had to put on my old glasses to see the screen! Since this was through my insurance ending in Dec, I am screwed! These people have no idea what they are doing and I am not going to reorder a 5th time, ugh... When I can afford it, I'll take the frames to Costco and see if I can Have new lenses put in them. For the past two years this is the only place that will accept my vision insurance. The first pair of glasses I bought was heavily scratched 6 months later. I returned, they claimed it was a bad batch of scratch-resistant coatings, so I bought a temporary pair online and they sent them back free of charge. After being returned to me that pair was equally scratched in another 6 months. I have been buying glasses for YEARS from other companies and NEVER had this problem. This year I decided to give them a second chance and buy another pair through them. Now 6 months later I'm replacing them for the same reason. I'm also fairly certain their eye exam gave me conjunctivitis because it was the only thing I did out of the ordinary 2-3 days before my first eye went pink to be followed by the other eye several days later. My appointment was on a Saturday with a nice black gentleman who might need a refresher on how to clean and disinfect the equipment! I tried explaining this to the staff when first diagnosed only to be politely told it was a problem for an ophthalmologist and NOT an optometrist thereby disregarding my complaint entirely. My advice? Stick to Tomz Optical (great guy and local business) or get a cheap eye exam at Meijer and purchase your frames and lenses online. read more

The employees were polite, my son really liked the optometrist who did his exam, but the optician went for the jugular, she just threw the order together and presented me with a $320 bill over and above what the insurance was paying. We brought in a frame from elsewhere, knowing it was better quality and less expensive than the SVS selection. To be fair, they only charged $4.50 to make the lens pattern, where others have quoted me $30 or just refused to do it when I brought my own frames. I called back in a slight panic with severe buyer's remorse, I know I can get them cheaper at Costco. The woman who answered the phone, turns out she was the manager, snickered when I said I wanted to cancel because I can get them cheaper. She refused to cancel the order but said she'd put it on hold. Then she said if I could bring her proof that Costco is cheaper, she'd match their price. Costco gladly gave the the pricing information, now we'll see if they will really match it or not. If they don't, I will cancel the order come hell or high water. Even without the insurance discount, I'll still be saving $150. I'll write another review after I speak to them again. Part 2: So, my dealings with SVS today went like this: I got a refund of $100 on the down payment of $159 that I made for the glasses, they refused to meet Costco's prices and then proceeded to bash Costco, saying they outsource their glasses to a lab in China and that's how they get their contacts too. All SO not true!! The contacts are exactly the the same brand and type. They could never outsource the glasses to China and get them back in 7 days. She just had to try to pressure me some more but I stood firm. So I did pay the extra $55 to cover the contact lens exam, and since she was dithering about backing out the insurance claim, I had her just get two boxes of lenses on the insurance. Oh, and when I told her that Costco accepts that insurance too, she said, "well, they are out of network, so they wouldn't pay as much." Liar. Also, even if they didn't pay as much, I'd get way more for the money that they did pay. For instance, the brand and type of contacts my son gets are $30 for 6 pairs at Costco; SVS charges $54! Lesson learned. NO MORE SVS!! Forgot to say that she didn't give me the frames back because even though I asked her to place the order on hold last night, she sent the frames to the lab already, said they'll be returned next week. Guess she thought she could still get the sale. read more

I don't buy glasses and don't have insurance. So I don't know if I was taken advantage of. I paid $1000 for four pairs of special glasses. I do know a good examiner when I meet one and The Optometrist, Mr. Rudic is the best. Optometrists don't get any better than this angel with 30 years of experience. My vision needed a slight correction because it was too difficult to read traffic signs at night. I ordered single focal, coated lens. One pair was basic military style with black frames and exposed rivets. One pair had a yellow tint to help see at night. One pair had no tint. Both were small lens run of the mill wire frame. One pair was fancy tortoise shell Ray Bans with Green tinted polarized lens and extra large size. I was told the prices were about $500 a pair but I was getting roughly half off the price. The staff treated me very nicely. Is that because I was a dumb sheep getting sheared? I don't know. I don't mind too much. Over spending on my eyesight is worth the price. I do mind not knowing if I overpaid. The quality, service and professional examination was first rate. I would rather b!^@# than switch. read more
