Large selection of yarns
Jessica L.

Changing ownership soon. Hope the new owners are just as nice as the previous ones. I love this store and the employees are friendly and very helpful. My teen daughter made a crochet blanket and they custom ordered colors for her and ordered more of the colors she was low on and offered her encouragement and tips on her work. When she finished her blanket she gave me her left over yarn and I've been making an ombré scarf. I went in to buy a roll of dark blue and the sales lady helped me with picking the best color for my project and offered to order a different shade if I needed it. They offer classes for all levels, and times when you can go in and work on your project and employees will help if you get stuck. Prices for these classes are very reasonable. As soon as I finish my blue ombré scarf I will be back for red yarns to make a scarf for a friend. Winters a good time to stay in and get crafty and crocheting brings me back to my childhood sitting next to my grandma watching her and learning from her as she crocheted beautiful blankets. Love this place and some time soon I'm going to sign up for one of their many fun classes.

Very friendly staff that was very helpful. They even balled up my yarn and printed off a free pattern for me!

A good selection of yarn. Nice store. The customer service seems to be lacking. I kind of wanted a tour of all their yarn selection.

FYI - they've closed for renovations and other changes due to change in ownership. Hopefully when they re-open they'll be better than ever.

Great classes, great (high quality) selection of fiber/yearn. Jackie (the owner) is always friendly and available for advice and/or help.

In the summer of 2013 I moved from the UK to Washington DC. In an effort to make friends and get…read moreout the house when I knew I would not be working for a while I decided to look for classes on groupon. For the insanely cheap price of $130 dollars or so i got to have two official knitting lessons and as much sit and knit as I could possibly want. I started in September when classes started again after the summer and pretty much went to every sit and knit I was entitled too go to every sat and sun from then untill I left DC to move to Cali in June 2014. I miss sit and knit and the expertise and friendships I made at this class. I not only got my monies worth but gained even more in friendship and life long skills. I made fingerless gloves, scarves (5 in total) a bear and am now working on a bedside mat. I believe some people have had some issues below which quite frankly leave me perplexed - How can something be a scam if you get your money back from groupon? This is a one woman show, which pretty much means if something comes up then things might not happen. Thats just the way it is when you run a small business by yourself. The number of times I witnessed people coming to class not reading what they needed to bring or where they needed to meet were so numerous and somehow this was never their fault. Take responsibility for yourselves please people. You are an adult!

I was given a Groupon ad a gift for 101,102 & 201 by a friend who knew that I wanted to make a…read moresweater, but was very intimidated by the idea. I'm a self-taught knitter using books and the Internet. When I went to class explain what I want to do to Terri, and she helped me and I have been making much more complicated patterns since then. I go every Sunday when I can and I always have a great time & I met a great group of women in the process. I can't wait for the next project. Terri was very patient with my questions, sometimes the same one multiple times. If you forget your stitch markers, don't worry someone will have them.
