However the facility does do a good job of utilizing the space effectively, given its narrow footprint. Sasquash Pumpkin Lager: Milwaukee (MKE) Brewing Company brewed their first beer in October of 1997…read more Although it's the appropriate time of year, it was not the pumpkin lager I have today. I've become less of a beer guy since my college days, but I couldn't resist the urge to pick this up. Even though I find them to be real hit or miss, I like to try at least one new pumpkin beer each fall. What caught my attention was the interesting looking design on the can of a sasquatch-like creature with a jack-o'-lantern head. It didn't even occur to me until much later that the name of the beer was not Sasquatch, but Sasquash. If you're as slow as me, it's a nice play on words that combines squash (pumpkin) with sasquatch (as in the mythical creature) into the name of this brew. I had a difficult time finding background information on this specific beer, but sources indicate it is made with both pumpkin and pumpkin spice. It is a Viena style lager that comes in at 6% ABV. Personally, I found it to have a light pumpkin flavor and it was a tad too bitter for my preference. The Sasquatch/Bigfoot may have achieved a legendary status, but this pumpkin lager is just okay .
