I was researching for a new doctor for my dad and I was checking out Dr. Swedbergs because of a referral he got. When I found out Lynn is managing this practice, I had to warn other people about her. I heard the main doctor is great here, but if she is the helper for the doctor, I would be careful. She talks about things she doesn't know anything about because she thinks she is so smart and above the doctors and will tell you things that are incorrect. She would argue with you because she thinks she knows better than the patient or their family members. It is so dangerous, I had to take my father away from the previous clinic that she worked at because of this assistant. She would say things that would contradict the doctor because she "thought" the doctor was not 100% right about my father's glaucoma care. She even said my father had cataracts before the doctor even said anything! If she is training the people working here, I would be very cautious about the information they give you that isn't from the doctor directly. read more

Dr. Swedberg performed cataract surgery on one of my eyes several months ago and I'm pleased with the results. The office is both efficient and personable at the same time. Dr. Swedberg and his staff are pleasant to deal with and I think that they provide a high level of care. Parking is either right in front of their door or around the corner. read more

I am 72 and have had diabetes for decades. I must have thorough and frequent eye exams and am damn picky about my providers. This office is the best I have been to in years. Very knowledgeable doctors and staff. Kind and never rushing you. Reasonable fees with proper filing of insurance. Comfortable office with great parking. read more

I tried making an appointment for my mother-in-law this morning for an eye exam and was told to go back to her original eye care provider if my mother-in-law was unhappy with her prescription. I was also concerned that my mother-in-law's macular degeneration might be the problem. After ten minutes of practically begging for an appointment, the receptionist said he was not taking new patients which is contrary to what is written on their website. So frustrating. read more

8/15 I had a follow-up appointment with Dr. Swedberg following cataract surgery on my other eye. I can't speak highly enough of Dr. Swedberg and his practice. This is the first time in my life that I see clearly without corrective lenses. I've worn eyeglasses or contact lenses or both since childhood. Cataract surgery exceeded my expectations and is life-changing in that I can function without contact lenses. It's wonderful to open my eyes in the morning and be able to not only see, but see brilliant, beautiful colors. Dr. Swedberg was running 10 minutes late this morning because one of his technicians was absent. This is the first time in 8 visits (4 per eye) that he was running late. It's also the first time that I've ever been advised that a doctor was running late, let alone a time estimate. I don't think I'm the only person to be stranded in a doctor's waiting room wondering why I've been waiting for 10 minutes or more with no explanation. Without exception, everyone in the clinic is friendly and efficient. It's also a diverse group of people, which is important to me. If you're looking for outstanding eye care and a pleasant experience, this is the place to go. read more

I love Dr. Swedberg. He is always really understanding about financial situations with me being a college student and all. He has offered me reduced rates or figuring a repayment plan because I apparently didn't have insurance (a partial fault of the receptionist). Not to mention he is extremely relatable and nice. My only issue with Dr. Swedberg's office is that his receptionist is so ridiculous. I gave her the wrong insurance information a while ago (it had expired recently). However, she made no effort to call me or tell me that I had the wrong insurance, and was all huffy/passive-aggressive when I was trying to figure out my new insurance plan. Boiling it down: get your insurance together, and avoid dealing with the receptionist. read more

I ended up in the ER with some symptoms related to my eyes. This clinic was willing to see me the next day which was really nice and accommodating. One star for the good customer service/empathy for my situation. However, my appointment was extremely disappointing. They did an eye exam before seeing the doctor and the tech told me that I most definitely need glasses (I had acute double vision and complete blurry vision anytime one eye was shut). Some of the lenses made my vision back to normal. When I saw the doctor, he told me that I didn't need glasses which I agreed with because all my symptoms were acute. When I explained my symptoms, he was able to translate them into medical terminology and then explain that he isn't sure what's going on. He then proceeded to GOOGLE my symptoms. In that moment, I knew I was in the wrong office. He also wrote down all the medical terminology so that I could Google them myself at home. The wrap up from this doctor was to go to the neurologist (which I already had scheduled) and follow up with him to share what they said. I'm disappointed that this doctor accepted a case that was beyond his experience. I wasted my time and money with this visit. Likely a good doctor for routine work, but nothing more. read more

I had my first eye exam, ever, here. I had never had my eyes checked out because I have this fear of people touching my eyes. I have nothing to compare my appointment to, but I had a great experience and I will be back for regular eye exams here. The office is nice, big and clean. The staff is great and genuine. Everyone helped me to feel at ease and explained everything they would do step-by-step to ease my fears. (My 23/30 for November) read more

Well, I guess I am not a patient here but I did do my first externship (kinda like internship) here with Dr. Swedberg. I got to see on a daily basis how things work here. First hand internal view of their practice. First off, Dr. Swedberg is one of the nicest doctor out there. It doesn't stop there though. I watched patients after patients, as he unhurriedly listen with patience to their chief complaints. He genuinely wants to help and his medical knowledge with the eye world is great. I watched one mysterious case where he went out of the way to find the problem and resolve it without pulling a sweat. I wish I could go into details but HIPAA wouldn't permit that. He also has a great experienced staff. Bill and Fran are seasoned technicians with many years of experience under their belt. I am sure dr. Swedberg is very appreciative to have them on his staff. Their receptionist is also very helpful bringing her organizational skill with her to their practice. She makes sure things happen smoothly. They also have current sophisticated machines to help take measurements and help see whats going on in the eyes. Plus, where else will you get a present after a successful cataract surgery? You just got to choose which colorful pot you want your flowers in. :) On the side note: I agree with Lilly above. Dr. Swedberg, while not a charity, does go out of the way to help out those who has to pay out of pocket and those with financial difficulties. I've seen it. Not a lot of doctors will do that. Again though, I will emphasize the not being a charity part. It will be shameful for anyone to take advantage of such a nice guy like Dr. Swedberg. read more

My introverted 14 year old daughter just had her second appointment with the very professional and kind Dr. Swedberg. My daughter was worried that her eyes were "changing a lot." Dr. Swedberg and his staff did a very thorough exam and reassured her that everything was fine and her eyes were developing normally. I saw Dr. Swedberg for what turned out to be a serious eye problem. I was able to get an appointment quickly as the staff responded to my concerning symptoms. Dr. Swedberg took a great deal of time with me and explained the situation in ways that a non medical person could understand. He is calm and reassuring in a genuine way. Let's be honest, we are all pretty sensitive when it comes to our eyes! He is smart, kind, and knows his stuff. The office is very comfortable and easy to access. Having worked as an Office Manager in Medical Offices for over 25 yrs, I feel I am qualified to give this review for Dr. Swedberg and his staff. I cannot say enough what a wonderful experience I have had with Dr. Swedberg and his Staff. I had catarac surgery. My first one with another Dr. was a disaster. Pain for over 1 mo. Had to go to another Dr. in Calif. while on vacation to finally get different medication. Found Dr. Swedberg on line and went to meet with him. I was treated like I was the only person he had to see, scheduled surgery. After Surgery and leaving hospital he gave me his home # and cell # and said to call him no matter what time, or for any question. Never before has a Dr. provided that option. The next day at my AM eye ck, There was beautiful plants for each patient to take home to celebrate their new eye site! My husband & I will never go to any other eye dr. I am reading with No eyeglass assistance! His staff are the best! read more

I had an eye doctor I was seeing for several years and he was so so, therefore I decided to try Dr. Swedberg and his team. I was sent all the paper work to fill out to my home prior to my appointment, which I like. The papers indicated that I must provide all insurance information asking for ID#, Group#, etc.. I have VSP and don't have a standard insurance card like outher providers do. With VSP I usually just have to tell the office that I have VSP and they take care of everything. However, since the paperwork requested all the info I went on the VSP website to get the information. When I had my appoinment I was taken to the examine room rather quickly, they did some checks and then dialated my eyes and told me to wait for the doctor. And I waited, and waited, and waited... probably about 45 minutes. I couldn't see well or read because of my eyes being dialated. The doctor came in with a quick, halfhearted appology for the wait, did his work and I was done. I could barely drive home with the dialated eyes even though they told me that if I put on sunglasses I would be ok. Then about 3 weeks later I get a bill for the full amount of the check-up appoinment. None of my insurance was applied. I checked the VSP website and indeed they indicated that they had paid Dr. Swedberg's office for the service. So I called the office and talked to a rather short staff member. When I explained the issue that I got a bill for the full service but my VSP account indicates that they paid their share she at first was confused, then she indicated that it probably overlaped. In an rather snappy tone she said that I owe a co-pay of $20.00, which I knew. I confirmed that I can pay it but asked how. She then snapped at me saying with the stub from the bill. I said that the bill still indicates that I owe $235.00 and she still asked me to send in the stub but with only $20.00 to pay. I made a note on the stub just to make sure there won't be any further follow-ups regarding this. So for the fact that I had to wait super long and hassle with billing I don't think my experience was that great that it is worth it. In addition, they also don't have frames available. So if you do want a new set of glasses you can get your prescription there but you have to buy the glasses somewhere else that offers frames, etc. I think I will be going back to my old doctor next year. read more
