There is also a resident albino squirrel that we've been in search of but haven't seen ourselves. Father Baker is buried here so you can see his grave. There is also a beautiful little chapel on the property. You can access this from Ridge Rd on bike/foot/scooter or by South Park via car.

Finally we get a call back from "Mike" and he's drunk at a bar yelling at us for being upset. Not professional at all. This added so much more stress on top of our grief. We flew all the way from Florida to burry my mom here. She deserved so much better. Our whole family is disappointed.

St. Stanislaus cemetery was established in 1889, serving Buffalo's large Polish community that immigrated to our city. You must have Eastern European blood flowing through your veins to pronounce all of the complex surnames, like my cousins' that contains no vowels - unless "sometimes y" is considered one! Lacking knowledge of this site and having left the map at home from the last time I visited, it took quite some time to find my Grammy's headstone to lay flowers. Sweetly, she and her husband are buried in the Polanka section of the cemetery.

It shows in the upkeep of the cemetery. A slow walk amongst the headstones and trees can bring a sensual spirit of peace. Amazing how in a well conceived resting place for the dead we can again find life. This two hundred year old cemetery may have its full contingent of resting souls but if you are feeling rushed in life ... you may find rest by walking in its peacefulness.

From coordinating church service, military honors with flag presentation and a bronze plaque at his gravesite for Veterans to the flowers on my father's casket (gorgeous white lilies and ranunculus) it was beautiful and understated. Our family didn't feel rushed or pressured at the wake or the service and burial. The personal service set it apart from other funeral homes: I'd been to two services for my grandmother and stepfather 10 and 15 years ago and they were cold and impersonal compared to John E Roberts Funeral Home.

Just pick up body and cremation, No service, No pictures just a simple collection and service. We don't want our only son to wonder what to do, just like I faced when my father passed. We would appreciate getting this done in a timely manner. They and their staff provided a comforting, personalized wake at the West Seneca location. My husband, who was a Viet Nam vet and later went on to work at and retire from VA in Buffalo, had what I'm sure he would have loved. The veteran and national honor provided was wonderful. I mentioned(and others agreed) that this was the perfect place for him to be remembered. The staff took care of everything down to the smallest detail to make this difficult time manageable and as stress free as was possible under the circumstances. They made sure every detail was done to our satisfaction and answered any questions we may have had. They offered advice and suggestions when requested, and we were unsure as to what to do but never pushed anything on us . Planning the final remembrance for a loved one is never easy but Lakeside showed compassion and professionalism throughout the entire time. I would not hesitate to recommend Lakeside in West Seneca to anyone who wants their final wishes for loved ones done perfectly. They could not have done anything better.

Mark's death was hard and Charles and the team were tentative to our needs, made us feel like family and welcomed us with open arms. As the youngest, it's hard to have to deal with loosing half of your family within 3 yrs of each other. I wish death would never happened, but Hamburg is blessed to have this funeral home to assist in your darkest hours.
