Wow, all 5 star reviews for Sweep's Luck! As someone who depends heavily on reviews, that would ordinarily give me pause but I can see why Sweep's Luck is rated so well after working with Dan. I had never previously given too much thought about fireplaces but all of a sudden I had a lot to learn and decisions to make. Dan was incredibly patient, knowledgable, and answered all my questions. He made the chimney safe to use again, and gave suggestions as to how to make it more clean and modern. He swept the chimney, painted it, put in a fireback, and did a gas conversion. Honestly, there isn't much to add to all of Daniel's already stellar reviews. This guy is the best! Happy to support his business. We moved in to our current place over a year ago. Prior to moving in I was told the gas fireplace hadn't been used in at least 7 years or so. We wanted to be able to use it this year so I contacted Daniel via the website. He responded quickly. We reached out in September before the depths of winter because we knew he must already be busy, and he was! Anyway, he came for the appointment a few days ago. Inspected the chimney said it didn't need to be swept. Explained my options for improving the state of the fireplace. Gave me a great price to get it up and running good as new. I have had the GOOD LUCK to know Daniel, owner of Sweeps Luck, for several years. He is one of the most honest, experienced, and reasonable contractors I have ever met. I had a serious leak in my bedroom ceiling. Both plumbers and AC contractors could not discover the source. I called Daniel to clean the dryer vent, and he discovered that the leak was was caused by a seriously clogged dryer vent. Heavy, wet, blue (?) sopping, soggy, wet messes just kept coming out of that vent~! Daniel worked his magic to clean the vent, then strapped the vent pipe, which ran 30 feet over the bedroom, up, so it wouldn't collapse again, and voila~ leak problem solved~!! I've asked him back many times. When cleaning the rental dryer vent this year, 2021, he noticed my fireplace on his way out. "This looks funny", he said, even thought the mesh curtains were pulled shut. The previous tenant had removed all the sand and material in the bottom of the fireplace and continued turning on the gas fire~! The logs were an inch thick with heavy, greasy, soot ~ foul~! Dangerous and toxic. He cleaned the filthy logs, vacuumed the entire interior, changed out some fittings, which were no longer to code, repainted the black surround, and my little fireplace looks like new~!! Believe the reviews...they are awesome! I have a gas fireplace that had been neglected for years. Cobwebs, soot on the logs, mesh screen dusty...Daniel came out and told me no need to clean the chimney, so he cleaned out the fireplace box, added new sand, spray painted the box and grill, vacuumed the screen, and rearranged the gas logs so the fire would be more even. It looks amazing! When I went to pay him, I felt he didn't charge me enough and he told me he wish he could charge less. What an honest guy!
