First time there when visiting and it was not very good. We ordered a caesar salad. It was gross. Very generic. Lettuce, store bough croutons and swimming in store bought caesar dressing. We also ordered a Calzone. I have no idea why they call what they served us that because it was like no calzone I have ever seen or had. It was more like stuffed pizza but with barely any stuffing. One a few pieces had a crust the rest were like lasagna in the middle. Hard to describe but I would suggest if you are looking, and craving, a Calzone you don't order. My favorite pizza style is New York risen dough pizza. This isn't anywhere near that. This is thin crust pizza and by thin I mean it's thin and it's not fluffy in any way; it's that card board style thin pizza. If you're used to NY style risen dough pizza this isn't that and you may be disheartened. I took the Amtrak up the gorge for a couple days of sightseeing. Stayed in Kennewick but went over to Walla Walla the first day. My dining plan was find a pizza place with good reviews, get a big pizza, and eat leftovers the rest of the trip. I chose Sweet Basil. I got an 18 inch pesto pizza. It was the best pizza i ever had. Part of that is the ingredients. Black olives that have a little of the flavor of green olives. I have always wanted to cook with olives like that but I was only aware of such an olive when a fluke of an olive from a can of normal black olives happens to taste that way. The artichoke hearts tasted far better than the ones I have ever bought. The garlic was in little crisp chunks- delicious. The crust was very thin and rich. Tried this for the first time. As someone who grew up on Chicago style pizza and other Midwest style pizzas I was interested to try what a local pizza out here was like. We were happy and enjoyed the pizza. However there were some caveats. We went on Thursday specifically to try the chicken Thai pizza. It's flavor was ok but it had no spice and if not told it was a Thai pizza that is not how I would describe it. It could have used some Siracusa hot sauce or maybe some fish sauce in with whatever sauce they already had on there and due to the pizza being pre made the chicken on the pizza was dried out. Then we also got what they called a calzone. It was good. The crust was soft and flavorful however it was a weird rendition of a calzone. They put the sauce on top of it then the cheese. Because of this the crush didn't get to a nice golden brown as I'd expect from a calzone. If they would have just put the cheese inside and the sauce on the side like a traditional calzone probably would have gotten another star. Would still recommend for the Walla Walla area. read more

Came here for a quick bite. Not my first choice but the wife wanted to. Rather chaotic inside. Had to finally ask if we sit or wait to be seated. We were told to order first. Then select drinks and pay. Then sit. My wife had two slices of pizza which she loved. Her bestie had the Pesto Calzone. She loved it too. I had the Super Combo Calzone. One of our favorite places to go every week. Hand tossed pizza crust with a variety of flavorful fresh toppings. Pizza doesn't get better than this. Love the Italian, and the Barbeque (who would have thought it could be so good in a pizza, but you have to try it to believe it!). The place has atmophere, right in the down town. The service and staff are always great. They're doing something right as employers too, because a lot of their staff have stayed around for the long haul (very unusual for this industry). There is no other place in a 100 mile radius that makes pizza like this place! Wow. The thin crust, the traditional sauce and the flavors make this pizza the best!!! Having grown up on real New York pizza's, I can honestly say this place rivals some of the best pizza joints in New York! I don't want to forget the calzone's or salads or other great flavor experiences here. The establishment is clean, a bit eclactic and a great place to dine with the family. I would rate this place a 0, if Yelp had the option to. If you want to go to a place where you get judged and looked at with a judgmental place, as soon as you walk in then this is the place for you. The pizza we got was deliberately different from what I saw and compared it to others food and pictures on here. As a hispanic, i felt very out of place and unwelcomed. The guy who took our order had an attitude and looked at my wife, her sister and I as if we were in the wrong resturaunt. The pizza was as thin as paper. The cheese, well there was hardly any cheese, I felt as if i was eating a tiny bit of sauce with paper thin crust. The toppings were very poorly portioned out on the pizza. It was a 1 topping Pepperoni pizza. As a cook at another Pizzeria, this is very disrespectful to those who actually like to admire their pizza's presentation. This place honestly needs a new atmosphere or change of staff. I wish that I could come back to give it another chance, but I honestly cannot be in a place with the worst atomsphere for any racial heritage who steps,into this place. You are looked at as if you came from a different planet. Simply pathetic. Sweet Basil's Pizza is a five star place. Their single slice pizzas are great as a grab-and-go meal, and their big pizzas are great for family events. They have a nice atmosphere and a good selection of drinks. read more

Awkward service. Ordered a wine... it came in a can? The cashier was clearly laughing at us when we were suprised. I know its a tourist town and by the end of the day you're pretty over it, but it's still rude. He even checked both of our ids before handing us a small can of wine. They consistently have a great selection of by-the-slice pies along with quick tasty salads. They are always accommodating to kids and large groups (if seating is available). We visited during the Gentleman of the Road festival. Suuuuuper busy, but still got our delish inferno pizza within minutes. Cool atmosphere, great view of the band, clean restrooms.
