I've never seen her ask for milk with cupcakes, let alone take a sip after every bite. That's when it hit me -- maybe the mistake was trusting the pre-order to be fresh. I probably would've been better off just picking 6 straight from the display case. Very disappointing, especially for a birthday treat. Not sure I'd recommend pre-ordering from here again.

The refrigerated section has a variety of whole cakes, cupcakes, and cheesecakes among others things. If you don't want to buy a whole cake, they have a selection of slices at the register. Even the fondant icing was better than any fondant I've ever tasted and the buttercream filling was just superb. While the cake ordering process was seamless, the cake was not ready at the time we were told to pick it up. We were waiting close to an hour for it to be given to us and when it was ready, it seemed rushed in some areas of decoration. The decorative bow we requested had fallen off. The number toppers were not glittered as we requested. Some of the stripes were broken and the cake seemed to be melting in some areas as though there hadn't been enough time between the cake cooling and being decorated. Our cake was delicious, but it was aesthetically unsatisfactory and we felt a little ripped off. Having seen so much of their other work on IG & FB, it appears this was not a demonstration of Little Cupcakery's best work. I would give 3 stars for how delicious the cake was.

I ordered a birthday cake for my mom's birthday celebration, and it started from seeing a post on Instagram. I spoke with the owner on the phone to discuss my vision for the cake, and after seeing the outcome, I have to say it was executed well! The cake had four layers, and we had the option to choose two flavors - so we went with vanilla and lemon. Both tasted so good! I'm usually not a fan of lemon anything, but I was really impressed with this one. Unfortunately, I didn't like the outer red icing. It wasn't edible and had a very bitter taste. I understand that darker icings require more food coloring, but this was to the point where it couldn't even be eaten. Because the actual cake itself was really good, it was easy to overlook the frosting. I usually don't eat too much icing anyway, but we chose this color because of the theme of my mom's party. I'm sure a lighter frosting that doesn't require much food coloring wouldn't have such a bitter taste. Cedars Cakes also sells cupcakes and other baked goods, such as cookies and macaroons in the store. If this bake shop was here ten years ago when I was attending college in the area, I know I would've frequented so often! The cake was absolutely delicious and my mom was very happy with it.
