I called Mashel, the baker/business owner to place my order for a dozen of the classic vanilla. She was very friendly and professional via our call and exchanging texts. I believe she bakes from her home. We coordinated a delivery time and I met her at a local elementary school. Alternatively she will deliver to Columbia, Ellicott City, Clarksville, Elkridge, & North Laurel for orders of 2 dozen or more, per her website. She arrived on time for my pickup for an event the following day. I put the cupcakes in the fridge overnight. The following day the cupcakes were taken out of the fridge around 9:30 am and eaten around noon. I loved the cake itself as it was moist. The icing and cake were both flavorful, however, the icing was too soft. The texture was not what I am accustomed to and not sure if being in the fridge had something to do with it. Presentation wise the cupcake looked simple with sprinkles on top. It looked cupcakes you would find at the grocery store including the plastic packaging. I was surprised when I saw the cupcakes how small they were. I was expecting them to be bigger if they are normally valued at $30. Other bakeries may charge $3-$4 more for a dozen but they are considerably bigger. Also, if I go to other brick and mortar bakeries, for a comparable price I am able to choose different flavors whereas here I am limited to a dozen of the same flavor. read more

When I contacted Rosebud Cupcakes I was looking for cupcakes for my wedding. Mashel came to my house for the tasting and had so many options, but everything tasted good. We ended up going with half chocolate cupcakes and the other half raspberry, some with lemon and others with raspberry flavored icing. I thought they would taste good and was most happy with the price that was a bargain compared to other companies. When I saw the display at my wedding I couldn't believe my eyes. They looked beautiful with dark chocolate icing, delicate pink icing and and white icing, each with little silver edible balls to accent. They were elegantly placed on a tiered stand provided by Rosebud. There was, also, a cake provided on top so that we could do the traditional cutting up the cake. The cake and the cupcakes were better than expected. They were so moist and the icing was unbelievable. It was butter cream and way better than any store bought icing I have had. So, I love to bake, but don't always have the time. And I'm am very particular about my cakes in general. I have this thing against store-bought cupcakes and cake.. They are plain nasty. The color, the oily taste-who really eats them anyway? And have you seen the laundry list of ingredients on those things? What's a mom to do with a one year old's birthday on the horizon? Rosebud Groumet-that's what! I mean c'mon folks- this is as good as it gets: home-delivered made from scratch cupcakes with really, wholesome ingredients, not partially hydrogenated whatchmacallits. With Rosebud, you get your cake-and eat it too! No compromises here-looks AND tastes good, at a price that won't make you scrambling for fallen crumbs. Mashel was so accommodating and helpful considering I was in a time-crunch. And the personal home-delivery an hour before my daughter's birthday? Golden. Be advised though that if you want any fondant work or decorations like shown in many of the pictures, you need to give her 3 weeks advance notice-something I was not aware of. And/or provide her with your own toppers. The cake was delivered on time and to my specifications. The taste and flavor of the cake just wasn't my cup of tea, however. I've definitely had better. Although I wasn't impressed with the cake itself, I was definitely impressed with the quick turnaround and customer service. I placed the order on Saturday, and it was ready on Tuesday when I needed it. It was delivered to my home at no extra charge. The owner was courteous and professional whenever I corresponded with her. Additionally, when the owner learned that I was dissatisfied with the cake, she contacted me and offered to rectify the order to my satisfaction. It truly made a difference when you walked in and saw the display that fit the theme of a little girl's first birthday. The pictures turned out perfect!
