Had a really nice lunch at Sweet Betty's today. The food and the service was good and we enjoyed our time there. The only problem I had was that they use "single use" plastic for all cold drinks including for water. Our table was crowded with all the plastic and then they brought us to go containers that were also heavy plastic. Unless they recycle it all, it is clogging up our landfills and will be a problem for future generations. There are so many better options. I would give this restaurant 5 stars if they would fix this problem. read more

Cute and roomy little place. Excellent service, friendly, accommodating and genuine. Our breakfasts were surprisingly good. My husband always gets steak and eggs and often the steak is just.. a slab of meat with no taste. This was seasoned and cooked perfectly. I had the omelette with a side of veggies and hash browns. Coming back into town from a hike in the gorge we opted to try Sweet Betty's. On a Saturday at around 1pm, there was no wait and we were sat immediately. The restaurant has an eclectic feel with a safari/popart/neon sign vibe. The staff was friendly and helpful. I ordered the Bity Mae's which included a slice of their cinnamon swirl french toast, two eggs, sausage or bacon, and home fries. Despite being starving after our hike, the food really was just okay. The eggs and home fries weren't seasoned and the chicken apple sausage was a bit dry (though maybe that's how chicken sausage is supposed to be? It was my first time having it). I will say that the french toast was good. I normally shy away from french toast, because so often in just takes like fried egg. But the cinnamon swirl really did come through. read more

My girlfriend and I went to this breakfast place wanting to try spots in Gresham (We are new to the area)! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was fantastic as well. I knew upon entering that I felt safe as a queer & trans person! I will add photos as well, but they had a shirt apart of their merchandise that read "The future is inclusive", with an inclusive tea bow design behind the text. They also had a pride flag with the raised-fist symbol highlighting different shades of skin, more-so representing people of color, and the fight for justice within the LGBTQ+ community. Upon multiple things that I read as safe and fun, they had a wall where they put up an artistic piece of Chadwick Boseman. I thought it was lovely. Was in the area and stopped in for breakfast. What a treat I was in for. When you first walk in, you're greeted by a rooster. No, not a real one. The decor is out there. Very fun. Just be opened minded. Was seated at a high top table. Nothing fancy. Ordered the cinnamon French toast. Holy cow. It was thick and delicious. Asked for my hash brown crispy and they were cooked to perfection. Now while the decor was very fun to look at and the food was delicious, the service was just ok. The waitress was nice but not all that good. Didn't check on how the food was and trying to get the check was another ordeal. But would I come back? Of course. Love Sweet Betty's if it hadn't been for another local breakfast place being so horrid, I may never have discovered SB. I kind of blew it off thinking SB was just a bakery. Very mistaken! Every time I have dined /taken out here has been delicious. I try something new always. From chilaquiles to biscuits and gravy - always yummy. Don't forget a cocktail. Huckleberry cocktails - yes please. Flavored ice cubes so drinks aren't watered down. Very friendly staff with kind of a hipster ambiance (forgiven because the food and service are great!). Only draw back is they are only open for breakfast and lunch, but worth the wait to the weekend. read more

A more than satisfactory classic breakfast spot. On the one hand the dishes are uninspired: prefab chicken fried steak patty, frozen hash browns; think Elmer's, but better. On the other, the gravy was excellent, it had that "semi-greasiness" to it like a roux. The value is super: a hefty portion for a good price (unlike at many inner Portland venues.) Service was A+. Yummm! We had a great experience here. The vibe the restaurant gave off was so cool. The price is super reasonable, food is great and service is A1. There's ample parking in the plaza and a gift shop (?) right next door. It was unexpected but they had pretty cool stuff XD. We checked in with a host and was seated after about 15 minutes. We ordered the BLT with fries and Turkey Melt with soup instead of fries. Both were delicious! They were able to accommodate with our requests and food came out quickly. There were also no drink menu but there was a bar... so I just got a mimosa. They had a bunch of flavors like OJ, Pineapple, Apple,... Our server was so nice and friendly. We live in SE Portland and any time we're in this part of town for whatever reason, we find ourselves choosing this place as our default brunch/lunch spot. We have never had a dish we haven't liked. I personally recommend the house fries. So many flavors that all work very well together. This is, used to be my favorite breakfast place in Portland Metro area. Don't get me wrong, the food here is still great, but they've priced themselves out of my price range I used to come in here 2 or 3 times a week. Eggs Benedict with cup of coffee was ~$15.75, I always just left a $20. My sister died end of Feb so on Mar 1, I went to Arizona to settle her affairs. Today (May 3) was my first day back, couldn't wait to get back in here. Order the Eggs Bennie snd cup of coffee. They were GREAT, just like I remembered. Bill came and as I pulled out my $20, I was shocked to find the total was $19.75. $15.75 for the eggs and $4 for cup of regular brewed coffee; nothing fancy, just a cup of coffee, not even cream or sugar. So now I paid $24. I understand times are hard, and prices are going to go up, and I really try to support local small businesses, but this is my last time in here and it makes me sad. Food is good, service is usually pretty fast, and wait staff are fun and friendly. They deserve everything they get, but I just can't afford it read more

I have been wanting to try this place for a while. Finally went today-perhaps the worst meal I have ever been served. It looked normal but the taste was horrible. I don't know if the sausage was rotten or the oil was rancid, but everything on the plate was inedible. This was true for others I went with too. I hope we don't get sick. read more

Arrived around 11:30am on a Sunday and there was a wait (as expected). I went in and told the fellow we had a party of 3. He said it would be around 20 min. No problem. We waited outside and did not pay attention to how long we had been waiting and then I kept watching people go in and not come out (which I assumed meant they had gotten tables) and went to check on our table. I asked if he needed our name for the table and he said..."you didn't give me your name?" I told him that he didn't ask for it and the he was all...oh, this blank spot for 3 must be yours, your table is up next. I stepped outside (5 feet from the door) to tell my two people that our table was ready and when we all got back to host table it was confusing, because he was talking to a different group of two fellows and placed two menus on a table for two. It was just really confusing because we were a table of three. I mentioned my confusion (to the people I was with) and he heard it and snapped his reply to me, which still didn't make any sense to is. He seemed to get irritated by what I had said, which was not directed to him). I tried to make a lighthearted comment about him "multitasking" and I'm not sure he understood how I was trying to be gracious towards him, as I deeply understand great customer service. We finally got to our table and were handed three menus. The wait for our server was long...but, fine, we needed to all catch up and we are chill. Side note: my menu was FILTHY. Not new filth, many hands had touched this menu. It was pretty gross. ALLLLLLL of that being said, our server was cheery (clearly busy, we totally got it) and the food was delicious! Cool place to grab a meal and catch that vibe! Totally tucked away inside Gresham Station, next to the Max tracks. Best burger I've had in a minute! I added avocado & cheddar cheese to the Betty's Burger and it was delicious. Cooked perfectly. Speaking of perfectly..their FRYS! Yummy. Nice and crisp on the outside with fluffy goodness inside. The hubby was pretty impressed with their Taco Omelet that was a speciality menu item today. It came with a lovely, powdered sugar dusted pancake. Our waiter was a darling. My wife and I stopped in here for brunch. I ordered the biscuit breakfast and a virgin Bloody Mary, she ordered the French toast special and a side of house potatoes. The biscuit was moist and fluffy but the gravy fell a little flat. Our eggs were cooked perfectly (over easy) as was the bacon. My virgin bloody had a little kick to it, but seemed devoid of other flavors. The house potatoes were also in need of seasoning, although they had some lovely crispness without being greasy. Yes, with COVID protocols there will be a wait on the weekends. You can be seated indoors our out if you choose. The time it takes from seating to food being served takes quite a long time as well. They are aware; just be patient. $20 Mimosa buckets - cheap sparkling but gets the job done Spicy bloody mary - pretty decent Huevos Rancheros - wish this came with protein like a carnitas or chicken? Was overall tasty but too many black beans. Home Frys - yum...thick, crispy, cut potatos Chicken Fried Steak w/gravy - so, so. Meat was tender but it was pretty average. Hash browns...tasted like your average frozen kind. Op for the home frys. Overall, for Gresham, this is a brunch hot spot. Food overall is decent, staff is friendly, and service good. Sweet Betty's is located in Gresham station by the max station. I believe they just relocated from downtown Gresham. The place inside is very 'loud'. They even have a sign warning guests that this is more of a have a good time and not so quiet kind of place. They have inside and outside seating. Nice little bar area. Looks like it's a beach theme. We ordered breakfast to go- bacon egg sandwich, an order of cinnamon French toast, and an order of raspberry French toast. . I think we got only cinnamon for both orders French toast and no syrup. The biscuits and gravy were inedible. When the waitress came by I told her to take the plate away as it was so very bad. She confessed that the biscuits and gravy were from Sisco, a company that delivers industrial food for facilities that care for the elderly, etc. and prisons. In other words, cheap food full of additives, preservatives and who knows what else that their customers are paying top dollar for. One of the hosts was seen every 15 minutes outside the front of the building, pacing and smoking his vape pen (not tobacco). Our waitress was great though. read more
