This place has been open for a bit now and my daughter had been trying to get me to take her, but I had not been in until today. That was a mistake on my part, because I should've been eating here the whole time. Inside is nice and clean. Lots of two-tops and a couple fours. Not a huge place but plenty of seating. Ordering is done at the counter and they bring it out to your table. Food was amazing, truly loved my meal. It's the best meal I've had in a good while. Everything is very fresh tasting, my salad was awesome, the empanadas were perfect. Restaurant staff is very friendly as well, and I was able to sample their house soup, which was so amazingly good that I am 100% getting it next time I come here. Which will be very soon. read more

All of the selections were severely lacking in flavor. And Jesus H. Christ were they dry. I went through 2 large glasses of water to get it all down. Awfully pricey for the "meal" portions, too. You'll get 2 little empanadas and a small cup of soup for $12. I have owned a restaurant, and that is not a very good deal (at all) for the ingredient and labor costs. The menu was so big and everything sounded delicious so I did the American thing and got a burger. It was absolutely delicious and I really enjoyed the different bread for the bun! It's hard to imagine how a place can get such high reviews until you try it and then it all makes sense. Stopped by recently and immediately knew it would be a favorite of ours. Pastrami sandwich is one of the best sandwiches in all of Portland, definitely one of my favorite meals in town. We've also had the tri-tip and the prime rib, both were amazing too but the tri-tip had a nice bright flavor with the delicious aioli and peppers. Everything is always fresh and house made, all of it super flavorful. Beef empanadas are incredible with a fresh chimichurri. On top of all that, they're always super nice with great service. This is the 2nd time we've eaten at Empanada Stop. The food is fantastic! The 1st time we were given a sample of the house soup (cauliflower & cashew) and also the baklava. After that sample, I knew I would order it this time. It is so creamy & smooth, and tastes like a light cheese soup. So yummy on a cold PNW day. The beef empanadas are so good, lightly seasoned and not at all greasy. The chimichurri sauce adds a little herby spicy kick to it. They now have a butternut squash soup which we tried. Also smooth & creamy and mildly spiced. The owner is very warm and friendly. Service is very fast and the dining area is bright and clean. Restroom is clean as well. Far exceeded our expectations, so pleasantly surprised! We were traveling and beleaguered and stopped in with a 5 year old not expecting much and we were all delighted at how good everything was. My daughter loved some cheese and beef empanadas. They're flaky and thin with really flavorful and robust fillings. We've been meaning to come here for a while. Because the place looks intriguing and well organized. We finally made it in and it's as clean and organized on the inside as it is on the outside. There is enough seating that you shouldn't have an issue finding a seat, and plenty of parking outside.
