Seriously a hidden gem! We attempted to go to breakfast across the street and it was mobbed, so we went across the street here. It's hidden in the plaza and was not crowded at all. They have scones and muffins on display, as well as quiche and some pies, and a few other savory breakfast and lunch items. They also have a huge cheesecake listing that gives the Cheesecake Factory a run for its money. I got the bacon Swiss quiche. It was delicious! Sweet Bliss Bakery is located down a little alley besides the IGA. It isn't easy to find, and it is easy to miss in the plazas sign. But, it's worth it. I wandered in here because of the excessive lines across the street on Mother's day. It is a smaller bakery, though they have an amazing selection of cheesecake. I grabbed a muffin and a tea, while my wife got a quiche. The muffin was good. They've got an interesting selection of teas, which was fun -- I got a black tea, Scottish breakfast, which tasted just like English breakfast. Had a lovely day yesterday with dear friends, stopped by this very charming establishment for some sweet treats. The owner is a very personable lady. I really liked how she had her bakery decorated with family photos that are dear to her. On the gorgeous day we were here. There was a pleasant outdoor seating area. Now, getting down to the main event... The desserts were out of this world we had flourless, chocolate cake, turtle cake, and tiramisu cake they were all just wonderful. Was in town for work. Stopped by shop before getting few things from local grocery store. The triple berry muffin is amazing tastebud orgasm. And so was the lemon berry cheesecake. Small cozy establishment, the help is willing to answer any questions. Cute display case to see all the goodies available for that day. No seating inside due to size. But there are areas outside along shopping center. Wished could've tried more things but had leave town as time for job was up. read more

A wonderful raspberry, white chocolate scone. Actually, the best one my wife and I have ever tasted. It was more like a Top of the Muffin texture (like in Seinfeld)--moist and yummy. 5 stars! But the coffee was sub-par. 3 starts at best. read more

One of the sweetest owners I've ever met. I called in to get a platter for a family reunion. Coming from out of town, I didn't know what to expect but she put me at ease and her chocolate peanut butter bars were amazing. We also picked up some chocolate mousse and peanut butter cheesecake. We stopped by Sweet Bliss Bakery 2 days before Thanksgiving because we forgot to get some pies for the special day. The owner was super cool and told us that it was no problem to get two pies ready for us for Thanksgiving Day! We purchased a pumpkin pie and a coconut chess pie. Both were outstanding, the best pumpkin pie we have every had. I look forward to making Sweet Bliss a normal stop when we come to Nellysford VA. Tip, they have great coffee and breakfast pastries, breakfast options are somewhat slim in Nellysford. read more

I live in nearby Wintergreen and want to support all of our local talent and venues. I have stopped by Sweet Bliss for a bite of this or that or the occasional baguette. Last week I needed a cake for a visiting friend's 70th birthday. I just asked for something elegant and tasty. What I got was a white chocolate and raspberry taste delight. Sweet (of course) and so moist and interesting. I served it with dark chocolate gelato, but it was an outstanding stand alone dessert. read more

This place was such a sweet little find! My boyfriend and I were driving around Nellysford ISO breakfast and could not find anything. We went to the IGA to find something to hold us over and saw the sign for sweet bliss. GREAT decision to come here! We got two ham and cheese sandwiches on a delicious croissant, with tomato and greens. Also coffee and muffins with several berries. The lady...I presume the owner...was so cheerful and pleasant with our order and chatting to us while we waited. I would love to see this bakery stay busy because this area needs a good little cafe such as this! Definitely worth a stop and we will be coming back for more pastries and maybe some pies in the future. read more

Just had lunch here with a group of hiking ladies. We pretty much took over the small cafe/bakery but the owner, Lisa Swinson, handled us all with aplomb! We ordered quiche, soup, spinach lasagne with foccccia bread, and a tasty smoked turkey sandwich on a croissant (my order). Everything was delicious!!!.
