Very creative and interesting selection of pastry. Had some delicious gluten free options which is the reason I stopped by.

Saturday night dinner at Belle Vie Bistro was very nice! I honestly would give it about 4.5 stars,…read morenot a 5, as that implies perfection. But they are definitely making the effort to deserve respect. First, we were seated promptly and our server was very responsive, so much so that we hadn't even had a moment to peruse the wine menu before she arrived. I would recommend that the servers be trained to bring water and the bread and butter without asking in order to offer the guests a chance to settle in for a moment. (Fresh french bread and good butter, by the way. I don't usually indulge in that, but I had 2 slices.) And if a guest asks to sample a wine, the answer is always "Yes." They are going to order wine, they just don't know if it will be that one. Both my wife and I started with side salads, which were great. Very fresh greens, and dressings that were obviously made in-house and delicious (awesome lemon vinaigrette on the bistro salad and a truly great Caesar dressing.) I should mention that their wine selection is made up of good labels you probably drink regularly, with a few neat additions that are worth a try. My wife ordered the grilled salmon cooked to her preference, and it was served that way. She really liked the lemon sauce with which it was served, along with risotto and al dente veggies including squash, zucchini and carrots (well seasoned.) I had the duck confit, and it too, was very good. Mashed potatoes made in house (again, well seasoned) with the same grilled vegetables. I appreciate many things about this restaurant. Frankly, I don't understand why it wasn't packed. The lighting is nice, the music is just perceptible so as not to be intrusive. The service is very attentive, and the food is really good. The price point is reasonable. The most expensive meal on the menu is about $35, but they offer plenty of great options for less. Having written a brunch review for this restaurant before on Google, I noticed that they take the input from their clients seriously, and I appreciate that. This is a place that is putting in the work, and it shows. I forgot to mention that they have a barista on staff even in the evenings, and pastries that are made by an actual French pastry chef (I indulged in the Croissant Aux Aumandes on our previous visit, and it is absolutely legit.) Parking on the square in Rockwall can be an issue, and Belle Vie is in the middle of the block, so maybe it is somewhat overlooked, but it is definitely worth a visit. I'll be going back pretty soon for the lamb at dinner time. I also want to try their French onion soup and French dip. You should go. You won't be disappointed.

When the door opened, it smelled absolutely delicious! When you venture in there are cute decorations. You are greeted by displays of beautiful allergy friendly baked treats. Coffee is available also. The service was prompt and friendly. We had difficulty deciding what to buy but all the treats we chose were delicious. Try the cinnamon rolls!! They are the best GF cinnamon rolls that I have ever eaten!

I've eaten, ordered, and visited more times than I can count (seriously, I've lost track... and maybe my self-control too). The moment you walk in, you're hit with the most AMAZING smell--like a warm, sweet cloud of freshly baked heaven. Honestly, if they bottled that scent, I'd wear it as perfume. It's impossible to leave empty-handed when the air itself is practically whispering, "Just one more treat..." Let's talk about the Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls--they're like a warm hug from a strawberry in pastry form. And don't get me started on the Red Velvet Donuts... soft, rich, and they'll make you question every other donut you've ever loved. The Raspberry Lemon Loaf? Basically, summer in a slice. Even the "regular" cinnamon roll is anything but regular. The vibes? Immaculate. It's the kind of place where you walk in for "just one treat" and leave with a box full of goodies and a heart full of happiness after a lil' chat with Chelsea. She's the type of person who remembers your name, your favorite treat, and probably your life story if you visit as much as I do. Bottom line: if you haven't been yet, what are you even doing with your life? *I would have more pictures but I eat all my treats before remembering to snap a picture.

Good setup that has a nice dining lounge with 6 small tables, also a long counter with tall chairs. Power outlets near all of the seating. The Tom Thumb restrooms are nearby, very convenient. Yes, there actually is a (faux) fireplace here! Along with a small flatscreen television stuck on 1960's sit-com classics. And bonus throwback photos of Rockwall back in the 40's, 50's, 60's. Mini museum! Usually 1 barista on-duty at this indoor walk-up location, but all have been good. Today, being 102° outside, , the crisp cold Tom Thumb air-conditioning revives your overheated body. An Ice Tea Refresher from Starbucks is what I was thinking. Green tea, Passion Fruit, and 1 other. I got the Passion Fruit with Peach flavor infusion for a tart & fruity on-the-rocks heat beater! Well, "I Dream Of Jeanie" classic show is starting on the time machine TV here, must end this review. Give this spot a try if you are in the area!
