    5,00 Canada dry
    Rai A.

Oh wow, what an absolute nightmare of an evening. felt like watching a slow-motion train wreck. A 5:30 PM reservation turning into a 7:00 PM dinner estimate, dirty floors, a $5 can of Canada Dry, and charging you for drinks that literally never arrived? That is the definition of a dumpster fire. incredibly stressful and chaotic!WARNING: Absolute Highway Robbery - Avoid This Place! Sometimes you really should just listen to the warning signs. We originally had a 5:30 PM reservation. At 4:00 PM, they called to say dinner wouldn't start until 6:00 PM due to a "brunch influx." We appreciated the heads-up, but when we arrived, they told us our table still wouldn't be ready until 6:30 PM. We decided to sit at the bar, and that's when we noticed how filthy the place was. The space is tiny, yet the floors and carpets were visibly dirty. How are you serving food in a place this unhygienic? When we finally ordered, the server informed us our main entrees wouldn't even be ready until 7:00 PM. The service was total chaos, running more like a disorganized soup kitchen than a restaurant. After a virgin mojito we ordered took 20 minutes and *still* never arrived, we decided we'd had enough. We cancelled the main order and asked for the bill. **Then came the ultimate scam: a $90 bill for just deviled eggs, cornbread, and water.** * They charged **$5 for a single can of Canada Dry** seltzer. * The cornbread was a joke--dry, tasted like toasted dry white bread, and was weirdly covered in white powder. * They tried to charge us for the Mojito that **never arrived**. * They charged us for a Lemon Drop shot that tasted like canned lemon juice, which I had rejected and swapped for a Mimosa. They claimed it was a "$14 Happy Hour special"--since when is $14 a happy hour price for a tiny, dirty Brooklyn spot? To top it all off, they slapped a **20% automatic gratuity on a party of TWO**. Automatic 20% for awful service, missing items, and a party that isn't even a large group? Absolute robbery. It took the manager and server another 20 minutes just to sort out the bill because they kept trying to sneak these charges through. This place is a health hazard, the owner is running a textbook scam, and I honestly don't see how they stay in business. Easily the worst restaurant experience in Brooklyn. **Consider yourself warned.**

On a recent trip to Brooklyn, NY for a concert, we stopped at Sweet Catch for brunch. We had a 4pm reservation and we were sat immediately upon arrival. It's a quaint little restaurant and they played great music while we dined. We ordered shrimp and grits, two fish and grits, catch-o-fish sandwich, salmon and Aunt Doll's mac & cheese. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Portions were a good size and the food was delicious!! For cocktails we ordered Sorrel sangria, King Street Punch, and the Kid Creole. Again, very tasty and everyone enjoyed their drinks. Prices were reasonable. Just be aware that the 20% gratuity is automatically added to the bill. We will definitely come back when we are in BK.

We made reservations on resy and I suggest you do the same especially for Sundays where it can get busy. We were greeted by an amazing host who was accommodating. We were seated right away. Our server was very nice. The service I can say is outstanding We ordered the crab meat deviled eggs, the chicken shrimp and waffles. The Asian wings and the pancakes with bacon. To drink we had the mocktails "sorrel ginger beer and lime juice" delicious. The music was great. The DJ had us vibing. Please note that there is a 20 percent gratuity charge for two or more people dining which I've never experienced before but I didn't complain because the service was great. With gratuity it was 143. Located by the train and bus stops easy to get to

Customer service is top tier! We are here now and have to stop what we are eating to write this review! Fresh! Authentic! Original spin on stable dishes! We will be coming back! We ordered the tropical blossom - $25 gives u two drinks each! Sooooo good! The lobster devil eggs and crab cakes were great! The shrimp and catfish and grits top tier flavor! Portions could be a bit more. Like 6 shrimp instead of 4. Maybe two catfish pieces instead of 2 and up charge a little more for the dish. Good prices!

Back here for the Valentine's Day pre fix. Service was a little slow to start but picked up well. Music and vibe was on point. Everyone was enjoying themselves. The short rib deviled eggs and the soul rolls were SO GOOD. Will be coming back for those. Very flavorful. Lobsta pasta was ok but a little on the oily side.

Came here for Valentine's Day recently (my 3rd time here). I had a great time for a solo dinner. I had a reservation and was seated right away. My waiter was attentive and got all of my orders correct. I had the shortrib Devil Eggs as my appetizer; absolutely delicious. My entrée was the Surf and Turf which included braised Oxtails and Grilled Shrimp with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and vegetables. My dessert was the Coquito Lost Borough Ice Cream or Sorbet which I didn't enjoy as much as the food. The Blue Dress cocktail is always a must when dining here. A lovely couple from a nearby table treated me to a complimentary Shots. The music was amazing. Definitely a great Valentine's day night.

Casual atmosphere. Good for big groups. An interesting selection of music is playing on the radio, from country to R&B to rock 'n' roll. $22 CHESAPEAKE CRAB DIP Served with cassava chips was absolutely delicious. So creamy, cheesy and flavorful. Very decadent. 1,000,000 cal. On a salty side, so hydrate well and be aware that you will be drinking a lot of water after this. The plantain chips were light, which was great so that you don't feel guilty for such indulgence. Clam chowder was the night's special so we got that and loved this iteration. It was not like traditional clam chowder, but it was such a flavor bomb that I would return for again and again. Similar spices and seasonings were used in the crab dip. $35 JERK SHORT RIB was a solid dish that could make anyone happy. Very filling. Jerk braised short rib, garlic mashed potatoes , roasted carrots came together in a perfect medley. $36 CURRY RED SNAPPER was the absolute highlight of the night and I would come back for it over and over again. Pan seared whole red snapper, roasted cabbage , black rice finished in a coconut curry sauce. Perfectly crispy skin and delicate fillet were flavor bombs. The curry is on the spicy side so watch out. The cabbage is also spicy. I'm not a huge fan of white fish, but this was masterfully done thanks to all the seasonings. The black rice was superb. Every element of this dish came together like a melody. Huge portion too. Someone ordered a burger and that looked massive and delicious. Definitely will try next time. $10 hot chocolate was the only disappointment of the night. Swiss Miss packet. Skip. I was hoping this would be actual good quality hot chocolate for such price. Should've asked before ordering. Lesson learned. Service was friendly and accommodating. The chefs came out of the kitchen to check on how we were doing and to make sure that we enjoyed the food. That was a nice touch. Great happy hour deals for drinks and oysters. Would return to try other items on the menu.

    Chesapeake Crab Dip

Decent spot in Brooklyn for brunch and seafood. The place was not too busy when we got there (around 11am on a Saturday) and hadn't particularly picked up speed when we left, so I personally don't think there is much use in making a reservation. They keep it VERY warm in there, I'll tell you that - but it is much appreciated in the colder winter months. Service was great. The staff are super friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Split a large carafe of Bellini with a friend and wow did that do the job. Very tasty too and just the perfect amount of alcohol for the meal. We started with the Chesapeake crab dip which comes with cassava chips. I do not understand their ratios. A whole lot of dip (which I love, don't get me wrong) served with like, five chips. We did request more and that was an additional charge. The dip and chips were delicious, but I definitely do wish it was served with more chips. For my main, I went with the peaches and cream pancake breakfast. I do wish they had more of that peach topping on the pancakes because it was super tasty. I did also ask for candied bacon, which is always such a treat - but I must confess I did get overwhelmed by it after a while. Outside of the eggs, there weren't any savory elements to the meal, so I didn't love it as much as I wanted, but that is very much a personal problem. All in all, I think this spot is good if you're looking for a chill and solid brunch experience. Can't say it is my favorite place I've been to, but I was not regretful in the slightest when I left.

Sweet catch was a fantastic experience. The music was great. The service was attentive, and the vibes were lovely although they were backed up because of Juneteenth they more than made up with it with extra customer service and ensuring that we got all of our food that we ordered I can't wait to come back, especially for the deviled eggs. You must get the short rib, deviled eggs

Cornbread waffle w/ shrimp and a lobster tail
    Lora R.

I recently revisited Sweet Catch and was disappointed with waffle menu item, as well as the grilled oysters. The fried lobster tail was delicious and well executed when I had it during the first few months of this establishment existence. It has been replaced with fried chicken, but the pieces of chicken are not thoughtfully or skillfully butchered. The oysters were extremely small, and there was a lot of grit which can be very unpleasant. The cornbread and the drinks that I shared with my friend were really good. The backyard space is really cute, but the weight staff seemed a bit disorganized. Hoping that this establishment will review and make changes as necessary.

This was a great place if you love a party vibe for brunch. Bottomless brunch was great. Kept the drinks coming. Server was so sweet. Her name was Prince. She definitely made sure we were taken care of. So did the manager. Food was great.

    Blackened catfish and grits.

Finally experienced brunch at the one-and-only Sweet Catch. We arrived hungry and in the mood for fried fish. Miles, our sever was warm and attentive. We took his suggestion and ordered the blackened catfish over grits, fried catfish with grits and a skillet of mac and cheese. The food was delicious! Best Mac and cheese I have had in years. The cat fish was perfectly fresh, seasoned to perfection, light and crisp. The grits were creamy and savory and our cocktails topped off the meal. Everyone was welcoming at the restaurant from our host, to the manager and even the chef who stopped to say hello to our table. Can't wait to return!

I came here for with my friend for an event they were having to celebrate their 3 year anniversary. They were serving lite bites and drinks samples. The decor is really nice and chic. I like tge old school shots and the little plants; as well as the hand sanitizer on the table. The meatballs were very tasty, the spring rolls were good, and the chicken n waffel bites were delicious. I ordered the catfish n fries, the catfish was really good: good seasoning and fried well. My friend had the catfish and grits; she said it was really tasty she tore it up. For drinks I had the blacker the berry which I liked very much. I would definitely reccomend this place for dinner, drinks, and brunch. Meeting with friends, a date, or just a good time.

We had stir-fried snails, jellyfish, Dungeness crab, live steamed fish, braised eggplant with fish fillet, stir-fried cauliflower with preserved meats, coral shrimp, sliced conch with crispy tofu, beef with string beans, seasonal vegetables, and fish maw soup. Everything came out hot, delicious, and well seasoned. The Dungeness crab was a standout, and it was refreshing to enjoy such a wide variety of seafood and traditional dishes. My wife was pleasantly surprised by the entire meal. The interior was nicely done and felt different from many other Chinese restaurants in Brooklyn. Service was attentive, and they seated us in a corner where we could enjoy our family conversation without constant interruption. The food came out very quickly, maybe a little too quickly, but we were fine with it. They were unfortunately out of a few fish and clam options, as well as several wines, but it did not take away from a great dinner. Before we ordered the Mother's Day special, I specifically asked the waitress if she would like her tip in cash and she said of course! The special was $95/person plus a 20% TIP ($38) which was $228! See photo below! We ordered some other items and the waitress gave me my bill for $252.86. We then drove 10 blocks to Chase to get out cash for her. I then noticed that I was charged $298.86. It was the $252.86 plus a TIP of $45.20! I immediately returned to discuss the discrepancies. The tip that was supposed to be $38 was now $45.20! The waitress then said she would credit my account. My question was how did this happen! All three waitresses stated it was not them and that the machine did this! How was this possible? Not one of them took responsibility for the discrepancies! Had I not looked at my bank statement then I would never have known that I would be tipping her twice! I then decided to leave to explain to my mom! Then the short Indian (I think) than sarcastically stated "Oh so now you're not going to tip us" Really! I drove 10 blocks and I NEVER ONCE STATED THAT I WAS NOT GOING TO TIP HER! I merely was going to let my mom know what happened and then TIP her! Note* I was going to give her a $100 cash TIP! Had she given me the REAL receipt with the $45 TIP then I would have given her $50 CASH but since she only produced the REAL receipt after I came back (how ironic) and told her she charged the wrong amount, she would have received $100 TIP. But since the short Indian waitress made that slick remark, she did not receive anything! After the disrespect and blaming the machine and giving me a fake receipt? I decided to leave! If this is how you conduct business then you just lost a great customer! PS! The food was great!

It's got a solid, nautical feel that gives you enough brass and wood to feel like a real lobster shack. They've got a generous stretch of outdoor seating for when the weather is nice, and inside, the music sits at a good volume. Then comes the food. I started with the clam chowder. It's good ...comforting, rich, well-made ......even if it's a little light on the minced clams. I caught myself digging around with my spoon, searching for a few more chunks of clam in the creamy broth, but I forgave it because the flavor was fantastic. Main event: the Maine lobster roll. Now look, I've eaten lobster rolls all over the Northeast..and a few other places. When you order a lobster roll, you're looking for flavor and simplicity. Red Hook's roll is good. The lobster is fresh. But here's the thing: at an overall tab running around $80 a head, you expect a top-tier entry into the culinary lobster roll pantheon. Instead, it lands on the smaller side of the spectrum. Worse, the kitchen holds back on the seasoning. Lobster is sweet and rich, sure, but it needs a little help...... a hint of herbs, or just a generous hand with the salt/pepper to elevate it from good to great. It's a good roll, but when the check landed, I couldn't help feeling a bit let down. To finish, I looked at the dessert choices. Options were slim, but I ordered the flourless chocolate cake and it did the job. I'll definitely give this place a second visit and possibly try some of the other items on their menu. The smoked trout and saltine crackers were extremely salty that I couldn't finish it. The basket of dried hushpuppies, and salty fried green tomato and fried shrimp were no bueno! Couldn't finish that either. I'm unsure if me placing my plates with the two courses to the opposite end of my table was an indication that I was still eating because my server passed me several times without bringing my 3rd course. I waited, and waited and waited until I was tired of waiting. It wasn't until AFTER I asked for the check that the server brought my 3rd course stating that the kitchen just sent it out. He then proceeded to ask if I would like to take it to go - of course I said yes. Just like my previous visit, he offered a complimentary shot which of course I declined. Just give me my check and let me go! This place is Strange and Undelightful. Never again! *** Came hope to open my take away 3rd course Salty!! (Whyyyyyyyyy)? The complimentary bread pudding had hair (looks like an eyelash) in the box. You CAN'T make this stuff up!

I went there the other night & when I tell you I had an amazing night, I truly did. From the vibes,…read morethe ambiance, service, music, location & food, it was all so incredible. Everyone was very sweet & welcoming. The outdoor seating is very nice & had a wonderful view of the water with nice lighting at night. They do however, have indoor seating as well. I also have to commend the staff for being so kind. Our server was very friendly, sweet, attentive & provided an exceptional service that added points to such a wonderful birthday dinner celebration. The drinks, appetizers, entrees & the birthday cake were all so beautifully made & seasoned perfectly. The food was definitely fresh & cooked perfectly. I find the prices pretty good considering the quality in the food & service. Yes a gratuity is already added but we don't care about that since we added more to the tip anyway. It was all worth it & will definitely be coming back. This would be a place I highly recommend. There was also a photographer there who was such a sweetheart. We took pictures & bought a few that were framed in a glass picture frame. Definitely one for the books! Sorry about the lack of photos, I took quick ones but I really just love to live in the moment so I didn't really take my time with it

Attended a birthday party at this restaurant, first ever time being there after driving by it for…read moremany years. Let's keep it simple. Food is very good! Flavors are there in the dishes served. Shrimp with pasta Alfredo - excellent flavor, shrimp cooked well (not overcooked). Pasta is great. Shrimp in garlic sauce - maybe scampi. Also excellently made. Fried calamari- not the best ever, but well cooked. Has that crisp that you expect. Marinara is yummy. What I'm not thrilled about, service. Got a table of 14 people. Waiter comes by asks maybe half the table for drink orders and disappears. Bussing empty plates is very slow. Checking on the table is occasional. Far from ideal. They brought dessert but no coffee or tea without requests. A big table needs more attention than a table of 2. Would I come back? Yea probably. Their outdoor deck is nice. Except for the mosquitos. Citronella candles on the table don't exactly set the mood
