The Americano was good as was the chocolate croissant. The downside was the chocolate chip cookie. I don't know if it was frozen after baking or just old. It was horrible. How to use the restroom and they hadn't cleaned the toilet and at least a week or two. Yuck... anytime the bathroom is not clean I wonder about the kitchen. read more

Stopped in for a quick coffee after taking a walk on the riverfront. This place is so cuuute! I'd call it a real coffee place, a good selection and they know what you're asking for. I like that they make a dirty chai, a real one without all that sugar. The people inside look like regulars and the staff even greeted some customers by name. The woman at the counter was so kind and even asked if I wanted regular milk. Dear, kind woman, whatever your name is, You have saved me from a day of feeling awful. As someone who has recently become lactose intolerant, and often forgets, because well, it's morning and I'm sans coffee. I just can't thank you enough! The cafe has a ton of interesting pies small and large, sweet and savory. While I'm not someone who can eat gluten any longer, they were so cute! The pies looked authentic and delicious, I could totally see one of these being a perfect option for a birthday instead of cake. Adorable! read more

We were nearby waiting for Jen's pastry to open, looking for a coffee shop. We are very happy this one showed up, right across the street. The black sesame latte is what caught my attention, and that is what I ordered. It was very good, and my wife had a mocha and it was also very good. Two things really stood out. Black sesame croissant. And the owner, being so friendly and chatting with us. We had a very nice conversation, you can tell this is not a starbucks. He also said bye to customers by name.... wow. We learned they named the shop after their toy poodle, that's a sign of a loving person, right? The croissant was different than most others, in a very good way. I do recall tasting something similar one other place. Seattle bakery nouveau twice baked croissant, damn! Most croissants are light and puffy, this was very crispy and buttery. It was warm still, with the black sesame inside and on top.... . I'm never tasted this before. Go check them out and give them some support. read more

Amazing! thank goodness they only had a few pies when we went, otherwise, I would have gone broke! Beef curry pie alone earned them a spot on "must eat when in Portland" list. Marion berry pie and key lime pie were fantastic too! so was the sesame latte., chill spot. friendly service. gave us instructions on how to best serve the pies. remember, don't heat the key lime pie :P ugh im drooling just thinking about this place read more

I am a longtime pie baker and owned my own bakery for several years. I make a super flaky crust and excellent fillings and I enjoy the process. This Thanksgiving I had to prioritize what I cooked, so I let go of the pies and asked someone to order here. This was our first time trying Sweet Coco G. We enjoyed a phenomenal Maple Pumpkin pie that was so good, I may order next year too! Everyone loved the spiced pumpkin filling, which was set perfectly and the crust too, which was tender and flaky. Good job! We really enjoyed this pie. read more

Without a doubt, my favorite bakery. Everything we've had here, from sweet to savory, has been spectacular. Their cinnamon rolls are the best I've ever had. So moist, with the exact right amount of frosting and the perfect level of sweetness. Their pies, cookies, bars, and sandwiches all are delicious and freshly made. Adorable and delicious neighborhood bakery right on SW Macadam. Everything is made in house. While they offer stellar breakfast sandwiches and lunches, it's the bakery items that call my name! Their cinnamon rolls are legendary so get there early. Today I stopped in just before 11am and they were gone. I bought a big slice of cinnamon coffee cake that more than satisfied my craving. Brownies, 7 layer magic bars, rolled fruit & oat bars, cookies, fruit gallettes, butter croissants - they bake it all and everything is divine! They even make bourbon pecan pies and spiced apple pies. Not just for Thanksgiving and holidays, all the time! The pies change seasonally and you can purchase a slice or whole pie. This place is a Portland gem. One of the best bakeries in the Portland area. They have great savory breads and sandwiches as well. They produce a char siu pastry on the weekends and this isn't to be missed. The recently added Berkshire pork dumplings, spicy and bone broth, are phenomenal. read more

In town for a morning event, needed coffee and a snack, noticed this place and thought that it would satisfy my immediate needs. Oh dear. Limited and pricey choice of sweet things for a bakery, took the chance of a raspberry square with my coffee. What I received was a sickly sweet confection and a drink of what I would describe as coloured water; surely the weakest coffee I have purchased. Perhaps this was a particularly bad day--the person behind the counter seemed reluctant to talk/interact--for the establishment but it is my only (and last) time there. read more

I wish I could report better things however, here we go. I ordered the pepper steak hot panini, it's nothing more than a crunchy roast beef hero with Mayo and pepper jack cheese. Truly disappointed, I don't eat plain Mayo however this was supposed to be "garlic mayo ", absolutely no hint of garlic at all. Cinnamon roll was bland (how does that even happen). My boyfriend got the ham & cheese croissant, he said it was "good, that's it". Front counter person did not remove a butter croissant from the order as I advised my boyfriend wanted the ham & cheese . Espresso was great! read more

I was really excited to try this place out! Upon walking in we were greeted, and there was also a huge menu right on the wall. There was a ton of different options for drinks and sandwiches. Overwhelmed with the options I stick to my safe choice of an iced white mocha. I got a 24oz with oat milk. My husband got a cortado. They have an amazing display of different baked items, they looked soooo good! We decided to split their butter croissant. They had no seating inside at the moment, but they had quite a few tables to sit outside! Thankfully covered seating since it was raining! Haha. I really enjoyed my iced white mocha, and my husband said his cortado was good also! The butter croissant was really the star of the show. The croissant was massive! And it was so delicious with a nice flakey-ness to it! We almost went to to get another! We really enjoyed this cute little coffee shop. I am embarrassed to say it took me to over a year to get a sandwich from Sweet CoCo G and I am now addicted. The spicy beef is my favorite and I find myself stopping by at least 2x/week to get one. As a sidenote, they are situated next-door to a lovely taphouse & on the weekends it is a great opportunity to grab a beer and a sandwich and sit outside. read more

THIS IS A GEM!! I had driven by this bakery 40 times and thought "I wonder if that is worth a 10 minute delay to my destination?" I stopped by on a Saturday and wanted to try so many of the yummy paninis, cookies, pies, brownies, salads.....TOO MANY AMAZING OPTIONS! I settled for a curry beef pot pie! SO AMAZING! I drove back the next day and bought 2 mini pies that had been on my mind in the last 24 hours! I strongly suggest you drop in and try this great bakery! The people are kind and welcoming! Stopped here to grab a quick bite and do some work and WOW was I completely blown away! The food was absolutely delicious, service was wonderful and I will come back here every single time I pass through the area. I would likely recommend this cafe to anyone. Remember that it is a cafe and not a fine dining establishment so don't expect lit candles and flowers everywhere. Ambiance is not their priority but great service and delicious food is and that is exactly what they deliver. read more

My husband came home with a delicious cherry galette about a couple of months ago from their Macadam location. It was amazing! We were in the area yesterday and decided to drop in. We bought peanut butter cookies and a slice of their cherry almond pie. The cookies were fantastic, but the pie was out of this world. My husband and I just bought one piece to share. I really didn't want to share with him. We both said that next tine we're buying a whole pie. It really is that good. The staff/owners are very friendly. After drooling over their Instagram, I knew I had to go. To my dismay I arrived at something that…read moredidn't look like it was a cafe or even opened. I wasn't even sure I was at the right place, thought they were still transitioning from one location to another. Until someone who shared the kitchen popped out. I was told that I should order online and come by for pick up, and was strongly urged to do so because these cheesecakes were really good. When I saw that they were doing a contactless store front, I knew I had to go. This was my opportunity to try it. I texted the owner to ask if the flavor I had my eye on was available. I was halfway there before the owner responded that they had one slice of pandan cheesecake left. There are multiple forms of payment with a card reader, and various apps to pay with online which made this a breeze. The owner Kiana, even popped to introduce herself which I thought was so nice! The flavors here aren't your typical strawberry, chocolate, peanut butter cheesecakes, even though she does offer some variation of them. There's pandan, ube, lemongrass, ginger mango, passionfruit, matcha, guava, pineapple raspberry, and I heard she even cooks up something with the pickle brine from the other business that operates in that kitchen. I thought this would be one of those situations where the food won't look like the picture. The pictures are obviously styled, they look stunning. Nope! The food looked just like what was on Instagram. I am a long time lover of cheesecake, dare I say it's my favorite of the cakes. The condensed milk ube mirror glaze was a lot thicker than I thought it would be and held its form. It wasn't runny and goopy. Loved that it wasn't a sticky mess. The crust was very very thick, I've always wanted more crust on other cheesecakes. On the description, it says it's "jasmine scented almond shortbread cookie crust" slightly saltier than most crusts I've had, but still very enjoyable. I've only had the traditional graham cracker crust and I'm afraid this almond shortbread crust has ruined all other cheesecake crusts for me. I have been disappointed at a lot of places using pandan, because the flavor just wasn't there, not Muse cheesecakes though. Pandan was present indeed. I would have loved if it was a little stronger, but I think that would have overpowered the cheesecake. Each component of the cheesecake are so different and complex on its own. They come together in delicious harmony to make this beautiful slice. I grew up with a lot of Vietnamese food and pandan has a very special place in my stomach.. heart! I've never seen jasmine used outside of tea and condensed milk outside of Vietnamese iced coffee. Kiana definitely has a way with these ingredients and she's a cheesecake goddess! I really can't wait to try the calamansi, Ube, and whatever else is getting cooked up in this delicious kitchen.

When we walked in on a weekend morning, there were lots of people sitting around, sipping on drinks, and working. Kouign Amann ($6) - The top of the kouign amann (the bottom while baking) looks nicely glazed with plenty of sugar. They layers look well defined and it looks like a crispy flaky treat. The other side looks like a sad wrinkly croissant. The interior consists of really thick laminated layers that have a ton of air gap in between that has more in common with risen puff pastry than croissant. This makes it thick, bready, and doughy and gives it a wheat flour-like taste rather than sugar or butter. There isn't that much crispness and other than a bit of sugar glaze on top, the pastry isn't very sweet, not is it buttery at all. I didn't like this kouign amann much. (2/5) Chocolate Praline Croissant ($6.25) - This croissant looks like it has decent layering and a great flaky crust at first glance. The croissant is indeed very flaky and crisp on top, making flakes and powdered sugar fly everywhere while eating. The lamination is again a bit questionable, with very thick layers and huge air pockets making the croissant very bready. At least there's no wheat flour taste. There's only a single line of chocolate in the center rather than the more typical two chocolate baton configuration. The chocolate leaks out of the sides of the croissant, caramelizing against the baking sheet and creating different flavors. (3/5) Masa Baguette ($5.75) - This baguette has a great crust combined with a moist and chewy interior. It's much darker in color than a typical baguette and has a very well developed taste, like sourdough mixed with corn. A very interesting take on a baguette that's quite delicious. Also of note is how they serve the baguette - wrapped up in butcher paper with an end of the baguette sticking out. (5/5) Unfortunately, I didn't find the laminated pastries to be very good at Little T. Size-wise, the pastries seem to be a bit smaller than competitors but with similar pricing.
