First time here and I can't believe this sweet gem was hiding from me for so long! We tried a custom matcha rolled ice cream with fresh strawberries, mochi, and condensed milk (perfection), plus the "Basic White Girl" pumpkin spice latterolls stacked with Biscoff crumbs, KitKat, whipped cream & caramel drizzle. Pure fall dessert heaven! On the drink side, the mango jasmine tea with mango jelly was super refreshing, and the chocolate banana smoothie was creamy and rich without being too heavy. Friendly vibes, fun flavors, and Instagram-worthy creations, I'll definitely be back to explore more!

I want to say that this is an underrated spot but sweet creams used to be soooo popular around when they first opened. I remember coming by here with my friends years ago and enjoying their rolled ice cream but never got the chance to swing by, so when I got the opportunity to try it again I wasn't sure what to expect. I got the u-be baby and my friend got the monkey n around. Both were SOOO good and as someone who LOVES ube, I really enjoyed my order, and my friend really liked his too. The ube flavor honestly isn't super strong, leaning more towards a simple sweet creamy (lol) flavor. I would really recommend trying this spot out if you have never had rolled ice cream before. It is a bit on the pricier side, but I'm sure the gimmick of them chopping up the mix-in and rolling out the creams is likely what causes that inflation (and you can also customize If you wanted).

The shop is really cute - tried them years ago and was going to try them again. Thankfully, they were at Made in Hawai'i and had some flavors to pick from, so I chose the ube. Was a little stiff on initial scoop, but as it started to melt a slight bit, it was a perfect blend of flavors and the waffle cone gave it some good texture/crunch - Miguel Morales Photography

Writing this review for the second time because they truly deserve it! Sweet Creams is hands down the best ice cream roll spot in town and I just had to come back to write a more detailed review. We've been coming here every now and then and it never disappoints. My son always goes for Cookies & Cream it's his all-time favorite! I personally love their coffee ice cream it's smooth, rich and has just the right balance of sweetness. The rolled ice cream is made fresh on the cold pan right in front of you which is such a fun experience every single time. There are so many toppings to choose from and my son loves adding as many as possible it's like building your own dream dessert! The staff are always so kind and welcoming. Watching them skillfully roll the ice cream is like watching art being made, and they're great with kids too. You can feel that they genuinely enjoy what they do and that positive energy makes the whole visit even better. Ambiance & convenience The shop is super cute with creative graphic walls that give off fun and playful vibes perfect for photos! It's located close to the mall and parking is always easy which is a huge bonus when you're coming with kids or friends. Thank you for staying open and continuing to serve such sweet, high quality treats with love and care. We'll definitely keep coming back. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! :))

Sweet Creams is one of my go-to spots for rolled up ice cream, my favorite being the fruity pebbles one! It's a little tucked away spot in Ala Moana, and it's nice and quiet usually. Service is always good, the people are nice. Price wise it's maybe ~$7-8 for the large bowls.

Pineapple 5-0 is DA BOMB...flavor explosion for the mouth!

After that awful debacle with another rolled ice cream place out in Kahuku, I needed to prove to my friend that rolled ice cream is a delicacy not to be missed! Thank goodness for Sweet Creams at Ala Moana! They are open late for all those people, like me, who need an ice cream fix past sun down. I got the pineapple 5-0...just the right amount of sweet, tart and li hing! Yes, I'm declaring li hing as a flavor category all on its own! Even after the 20 min ride back home, my ice cream rolls were still rolls, which made me very happy. I also ordered the cold brew and the frozen choco...which I assume were delicious because they quickly disappeared. The staff there is awesome, cheery, welcoming, and FAST! Never have I ever had rolled ice cream so quickly! I swear it was only a 5 min wait for my 3 orders! That OTHER place took at least 10 mins for just one. Sweet Creams YOU ARE DA WINNAH HANDS DOWN! I'm looking forward to working my way through your menu. And almost forgot...they have flavored lemonades and boba too! Make sure you try the lychee jasmine tea with lychee jelly!

When Sweet Creams first opened many years ago, they always had a long line out of their door. With their limited space and lack of seating, this spot was always a pass on my list of desserts and I never gave much thought to them. However, they've endured throughout the years and are still open to the public. The long lines have gone away, but the ice cream has stayed the same. The menu is large and they've added drinks to their line up. The rolled ice cream is freshly made and with the boom and burst of the rolled ice cream bubble, it looks like Sweet Creams is one of the last rolled ice cream shops hanging on. Parking is easily secured in their private lot and there are 2-3 smaller tables that you can sit at to enjoy your ice cream immediately. My personal favorite is the strawberry but my BF wanted the banana "Monkeying Around" flavor and that was good! I'll be adding Sweet Creams back into my rotation of dessert options!

Great service. The staff was so nice & patient with me. It's a small shop with limited seating indoors and outside. I had the monkey n' around and the strawberry shortcake, both 10/10. I will absolutely come back.

I haven't been to Sweet Creams in years so I was excited to have rolled ice cream again. I got the frozen hot cocoa one and it was pretty good! Maybe a little too sweet for me because of all the chocolate but what else do you expect from a frozen hot cocoa lol. There was only one girl working when we went and I was surprised how fast she made the ice cream! Sweet Creams is probably only one of the few places that still does rolled ice cream. So if you want something a little different for dessert, check this place out! They also serve drinks and you can build your own ice cream in addition to the flavors/bowls they have on the menu.

I'm really surprised how this place hasn't gone out of business yet...I thought rolled ice cream was a trend that was eventually gonna die down. But I guess, through it all they persevered and I hope they are here to stay because I do have to admit, you gotta have some rolled ice cream every now and then in your life. If you want faster service, order a set menu item; customs will naturally take longer. My friends and I went in as a group of 10+ all on one receipt and the set menu items came out faster. Also, I was really impressed with how fast they were for a large group - definitely impressed. Catch me here some time again soon! It's always summer in Hawaii so there's always room for rolled ice cream. Tell mom, we definitely DO NOT have rolled ice cream at home.

We came upon this store on Kona behind Ala Moana SC. It's not the usual ice cream shop that they scoop out the ice cream for you. Instead they make the ice cream on a super chilled plate and roll them out individually. It was fun to watch them made. Taste was pretty good too. I would consider returning.

Another colleague and I jumped at the opportunity to tag along on a Friday early afternoon. Located down Umi Street not too far from neighboring New City Nissan on N King Street, Samurai moved to their current location in 1995 serving Maui style sherbet, popcorn and other local snacks. They also expanded to Samurai Snacks Aiea for an impressive 20+ years before closing its doors in May 2023. We arrived shortly after lunch time where we pondered at the menu wondering what to get. It's not fancy here at Samurai - - the storefront is basic and nothing fancy with a few seats patrons can sit on if they decide to eat their treats on premise. Morale has been low at the office so I decided to get some convenient prepackaged 4oz assorted Samurai cups to cheer up the staff. My colleagues also picked up some bags of buttered popcorn with mochi crunch and furikake for an informal office party to welcome the much needed weekend. Because we were already there, we also got some soft serve cups to cool down before heading back to the office. My colleagues had the classic strawberry and blue vanilla swirl and I selected the mango. My colleagues enjoyed their selection but the mango didn't live up to my expectations. The color was vibrant and enticing but sadly the mango flavor did not come through. Each cup came with a sugar roll cookie that was delicious. After our cold treat we headed back to the office with our surprise for our colleagues where it was a big hit. There were many happy faces standing in line grabbing some popcorn and a 4-oz cup of Samurai. Overall, a much better experience with Samurai that's deserving of an update with higher marks. It has been noted in my books to stick to flavors I'm already aware of and avoid trying new ones for that possible disappointment that often happens to me.
