I've tried the Tanghulu before and thought it was great, but recently I tried the yogurt ice cream and omg it was delicious! I got the Yoajung Signature because I really wanted the honeycomb and then added strawberries and the fruity pebbles was the free topping of the day. It was so addicting! I tried Yoajung's Signature and really enjoyed it! The yogurt reminded me of Yami Yogurt; it came with the free topping of the day; fresh strawberries plus a drizzle of honey and a piece of honeycomb. At first, I thought the honeycomb looked a little skimpy, but it ended up being just the right amount since it was so rich and flavorful. We also got a strawberry Tanghulu and a grape Tanghulu, and the kids devoured both;they loved them! I did buy an extra piece of honeycomb to take home ($18.90), but unfortunately, it was a letdown. When I opened it, it had a moldy smell, and after tasting it, that same moldy flavor came through. The packaging was cute, but not airtight--it came in a paper-like container with a plastic lid. Since honeycomb can mold if exposed to moisture, they may want to reconsider how it's packaged. I was really looking forward to enjoying it, so that part was disappointing. So happy to finally get a chance to try this yogurt shop. It's usually busy with line and I always wonder why. Now I get why it's so good! Ala Moana was doing a promo that day and was excited to try something here. I got a regular greek yogurt with granola and added on honey comb topping. Surprisingly, the honey comb was sooo soft. We did not see any places to sit but there is a food court nearby that has seating. The service was efficient and they explained the types of tanghulu they had. We tried the frozen yogurt signature tart with honeycomb and the topping for the day was fruity pebbles. I got it without the topping but it was still good. The tart yogurt and the sweet honey made for a great combo. It was a bit pricey for me but still good to try. Next time I'm hoping to try some of the tanghulu! read more

I absolutely love Tang Hu Lu. From having it for the first time back when Honolulu Skewer House would offer it complimentary for dessert after dining there. To seeing it trend on Tik Tok and attempting to make it myself. Which was dangerous. I burnt myself, then must have gotten the temperature wrong or something. The sugar I made was too hard and ended up cutting my mouth when I tried to eat it. So much better I just buy it here offered at Yoajung. They come in red or green grapes, strawberry, blueberry, tangerine (my favorite, definitely get that one), and pineapple on the weekends. They are $4-$5 each skewer. What is tanghulu? I was quite curious. I had seen videos online of how to make these skewered fruits, but had never tried any... Let's get some! Located on the ground level of Ala Moana Center, outside of the Makai Food Court, between Curry House and Yomie's, Yoajung, opened in September 2023. It features Korean style soft serve, but none of the flavors are non-dairy. The gal at the counter was very sweet and helpful. She rang me up and put the skewer of green grapes between the Mandarin oranges and strawberries... and let me take a photo of her hands! LOL! Thank you! At first, I ate right on the sidewalk near Yoajung... until a sketchy lady tried to talk with me. I thought that I should escape to safety in case she started asking me for money... haha! Sitting in the air-conditioned Makai Market Food Court was much cleaner, brighter, and pleasant! The fruit skewers were interesting. The sugar coating was crunchy and a bit messy. My face was getting sticky from trying to bite the fruits off of the skewers and sliding the fruits down the skewers. The sugar coating stuck to my teeth, too. Hmmm... I am not sure if you remember, but I definitely remember the frozen yogurt craze back in the 2010s. There was frozen yogurt everywhere and they randomly shut down. I have never fully recovered from that crisis, along with somi somi(the predecessor of this location)'s closure. So to preface, Yojang had a lot to live up to. So it ended up being a pretty disappointing and let down experience. We got the signature regular. The size was fine, as expected. This was my first time trying honey comb so I was quite excited and pretty pleased with it. If you like honey you would definitely enjoy it as a topping. The texture is fun but some may not enjoy it. The froyo was fine, tart and slightly creamy. Much lighter than regular ice cream of course which I enjoyed after a big meal. The free topping was the gummy bear, which I didn't realize till we already ordered, not a fault of anyone else's but MINES. To preface, I've never had gummy bears as a froyo or ice cream topping. To be honest, the gummy bears fully ruined the experience. It hardened and made it extremely hard to eat. It also started to melt into the froyo and made it extremely sweet towards the end. This review may come off a bit harsh however, I am a big sweet tooth girly and this was so disappointing that we couldn't even finish it and threw it away. Though, I do not regret trying it at least once especially for the (overpriced) honey comb. At its price point, I would at least expect something more visually appealing LOL. read more

We visited this small shop outside the food court area, and it was delightful. The service was very good here. It was our first time, and the nice girls behind the counter thoroughly explained the process. Almost everything is made to order and you can watch them make your food! When I say almost everything is made to order...I mean except the tanghulu! Apparently, they make the tanghulu each day, but it isn't ready until around 1pm...and we were there in the morning when they opened...so bummed! We did share the Li hing and pineapple version. It was very light and refreshing. Dont take this the wrong way, but it tastes healthy! Airy and with a slight tang...this is reminiscent of yami yogurt...according to my wife. I passed by this place at Ala Moana a few times and finally decided to try it. They're where Somi Somi used to be. I didn't want a full meal and knew the frozen yogurt would hit the spot. I was so happy that I came here. The Korean yogurt ice cream was delicious. If you remember Yami Yogurt from back in the day, that's what it tastes like. I got the Yoajung Signature $8.99 (yogurt ice cream, honeycomb, free topping of the day). The honeycomb was so good and went well with the yogurt ice cream. You don't find real honeycomb at any other yogurt place. They rotate the free topping of the day, so be sure to ask. The day that I went it was free fruity pebbles cereal. This is now my favorite dessert place. I can't stop thinking about their yogurt ice cream and have been craving it since I came here the other day. I will be sure to stop by tomorrow. It was great Only recommendation is if they can add more toppings as you have to pay $1 for each option. We were deciding between Meet Fresh and Yoajung tonight. Yoajung won! Initially I was going to order the plain yogurt with honeycomb. But the owner suggested I try today's special with pomegranate seeds. I asked for the seeds on the side because I wasn't sure if it would be really tart or not. The pomegranate seeds that were recommended by one of the owners proved delicious! The owners are always there working hard to support the business. Yes, the price of the special is $8.99 is a bit high, but it really is delicious. I think it's worth the splurge. The counters are well lit and colorful with so many toppings to choose from. I always enjoy the fresh honeycomb and honey drizzle. I'll be back. Don't forget to stamp your card. I almost forgot today and they reminded me by asking if I had one. Wanted to try this place out after seeing that they had tanghulu. The froyo was definitely more yogurty than I'm used to but it was still delicious and not too sweet. The portions were actually quite decent even though at first glance they don't look like it. The froyo itself wasn't too heavy though so I was actually able to finish almost all of mine. As for the tanghulu, I have never had tanghulu in Asia so I can't compare but the sugar coating was nice and thin and not too hard and paired well with the fruit. One cool thing they do is that they have a random free topping everyday that you can add to any item for free which I thought was nice. In order to get here you have to go out through the doors in the food court on the side of where Jollibee and the garage is and then take a right. Believe the hype. Visited Yoajung after seeing it on Instagram. I've never been a big froyo fan, but that was about to change. Yoajung is located just outside the food court, facing the beach park. Exit next Jollibee, turn left, bam, prepared for the goods. The yogurt comes in various sides and includes the free topping of the day. Additional toppings range in price. We got a chocolate shell and blueberries. Considering it's Ala Moana, I was impressed by the price, but even more so by the flavor. It's got a good tartness and the berries are SO fresh. They are situated on the street level, Makai (ocean) side, in between the two ocean (makai) side entranceways/exits. It is a Korean frozen yogurt eatery. I believe it is a franchise. They offer regular and large bowls of soft serve froyo that is, as perusual, on the tart side. Their signature bowl comes with a piece of honeycomb and the free topping of the day. The honeycomb provides a light sweetness to offset the tartness of the froyo...just the right balance. My initial visit: I requested a signature regular bowl...$8.99...which came with a free topping of granola. Very refreshing even though it was a rainy day. Yes, it is wintertime in Honolulu - a cool 70 degree day. Second time, I got a signature large bowl at $11.99. The free topping was crushed peppermint candy, which I passed on and got an add-on of Yuzu sauce. Yoajung offers additions of syrups, powders, and your typical froyo toppings from $.50 to $1 - fruit is $1.25. Their Yuzu syrup went well with the frozen yogurt and honeycomb. Honeycomb is offered as a separate portion for $2.50. Boxes and bowls are also for retail sale; $169 and $35, respectively, as I recall. They offer candied fruits on skewers...Tanghulu, don't ask me to pronounce this or spell it without reference. It looks good. If you like froyo, you have a new spot to visit in town. Ok. ok. so I finally caved to the allure of the tanghulu. I been seeing these candy fruit sticks pop up on my instagram and facebook and I know a friend or 2 who have reviewed and raved about this treat. One of my youth group kids' mom got a few for us to try. It was pretty sticky so make sure you have wet wipes or be very diligent about holding your stick. We pushed the fruit off using a fork so everyone could try but I decided I needed my own cause it was too good. Yes! it was still open. Short line (cause it was like 10 mins til close) but still a pretty good wait, and I anticipated being able to get my own stick of strawberries...Nope, sorry to deflate my bubble but it was sold out. So I ended up getting the mandarin orange and red grape. Not even close to the burst of strawberry I anticipated but I'm glad I was able to try these. The grapes were nicely coated but the oranges, not so much. I don't think I would get the oranges again. The candy gave a nice crunch and with every piece of fruit I could feel the sugar spiking inside of me. I did share the oranges but because it ended up taking a while, everyone was pau with dessert by the time I came back. It is easy to spend more than you think you're spending, especially if you buy more than one stick of tanghulu. I didn't know this place had frozen yogurt too but I had blinders on and just got the fruit. When I come back, I'll try something else and definitely not wait until closing cause I need me those strawberries! I've been seeing Tanghulu all over my social media and have been dying to try it. Luckily, I don't have to make it myself. Thanks to Yoajung! They have different Tanghulus available. I got a typical strawberry one. The strawberries were fresh and were generously coated with the hardened sugar. I also ordered a small yogurt from them as well. They have different toppings available. You can choose from the different combinations on the menu or make your own. The only thing I hoped for were different yogurt flavors. There was only one. Which I enjoyed, but my fiance did not. They also sell packaged honeycombs. But if you don't want to invest in one, don't worry, you can get it on your yogurt as a topping. Is froyo making a comeback?? I was excited to try this place out. I miss yogurtland and menchies. The honeycomb intrigued me. I like honey and I've seen honeycomb on charcuterie boards but I've never like eaten pieces of it. The signature comes with the froyo (only 1 flavor: tart) and then it comes with a piece of honeycomb and whatever the topping of the day is. Captain crunch was the flavor of the day today. I'm not a fan of captain crunch so I asked for the signature omit the captain crunch. For $9, I think it's very expensive. I didn't actually like chewing through the honeycomb. You get little pieces of was coagulating in your mouth while you eat it. I ended up trying to like suck out the honey from the comb and dissolving the water soluable sugar while trying to hold the non soluable wax on my tongue. It was tricky. The "yogurt ice cream" on the menu is confusing. Is it yogurt or ice cream? Is soft serve the same as ice cream? So this take out counter set up took over the spot of somi somi and opens up to the makai side parking lot. There are no tables, and standing down in the parking lot basement of Ala Moana isn't the most pleasant place to be. You can wlak into the food court and enjoy your froyo soft serve yogurt ice cream in there. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be back. The yogurt flavor is good, and idk where else you can get froyo anymore, but I definitely won't be getting the honeycomb. Which is what this place is known for. read more
