I ordered a custom cake for $130 and provided specific details on how I wanted it done (photo wrap, blue tone, design, etc.). What I received looked nothing like what was discussed. When I arrived for pickup, I was left waiting outside for about 25 minutes with no response. When the seller finally came out, she rushed to the side door of my car to place the cake, mentioned she was unable to add two of the images, said she hoped I enjoyed the cake, and quickly left. After looking at the cake, I realized it did not match what I had asked for and didn't even have "thirty" written on it as requested. I tried calling and didn't get an answer, so I had to go back and ring the doorbell. When she came to the door, I expressed that the cake did not look as agreed. She stated she was in a rush to finish another cake, offered to write "thirty" on it, and said we could continue to text regarding a discount. The cake was given to me in a box that didn't even close because it was too small. The piping was uneven, the photos were not properly wrapped around the cake, and the images were not in the blue tone that was agreed upon. Overall, the design appeared rushed and not consistent with what I ordered. Within about 5 minutes of driving home, the cake was already shifting and falling apart, making it unusable for the event. I texted her again to let her know the cake was sliding apart. During the situation, the seller stated that they had messaged me on Messenger, but I did not receive any messages there and we had already been communicating through text the entire time. The seller also stated there was no way the cake could have been sliding apart, despite the condition shown in the photos. I asked for a partial refund, but was offered a future credit instead, which I declined. After that, the seller blocked me, preventing any further communication. After posting my experience on Facebook others have come forward saying she's conned them out of money as well. Such a shame!

My inability to communicate much outside of a handful of unconjugated words hasn't been a problem at all in my eating and shopping experiences, in point of fact - its quite the opposite. The native tongue will be better one day as I'm interested in learning - I think this is noticed as when I'm fumbling - either a bilingual amigo steps in to voice my intentions or the counter person understands most of what I'm driving at. I didn't get to explore the pastry / bakery side quite yet - but on quick glance I'm seeing what looks to be classic and new taste treat creations. The chorizo was seasoned with wonderful spices of cumin & coriander broken up into nice little crumbles, perfect for tacos, which I ordered two of this morning. I could smell the paprika - no peppers, no onions - meat and eggs and the eggs soaked up the vibrance if the chorizo oil and really balanced these tacos out. What a way to start the day, what a game changer from the gas station foods which I'm not proud to say that I've taken part in the consumption of.
