It was honestly crazy as we never called or emailed excessively. Maybe she was holding out for a bigger event or pay day, but all she did was waste a lot of time and put us in a scramble with a few months to go to figure our catering and cake. I wanted a flavored gender reveal cake and we weren't allowed to pick anything flavor of cake other than vanilla, which I can understand for the frosting it's easier to color a vanilla frosting. But cake? Nothing else ? Not even Haupia ? I've baked cakes for years. I wanted another local bakery to do this surprise for us and such a disappointment, clearly over baked and done the day before. The shop keeper was friendly and patient as I browsed the pastry case. I've always been curious about the Dubai chocolate bar, so I decided to splurge and give it a try. Very pricey at $16 for a 4-5" bar, but it was worth it to try it once. The chocolate was smooth and high quality, the pistachio cream was sweet with a hint of pistachio flavor, and the kataifi was pleasantly crunchy. I would have loved more pistachio flavor, but it was a nice little chocolate treat. Looking forward to trying more things from Short n Sweet in the future. Will definitely be back when I want to treat myself to a gourmet dessert. :)

There were lots of treats out, including discounted pastries from the day prior. There was ample parking in the lot, including designated stalls for Cupcakes Boom customers. The shop is very clean with seating inside. I got the cookie butter chai latte. The chai flavor was good, but man this drink was sweet! I generally have a sweet tooth, but even this drink was way too sweet for me. I don't know what I was thinking getting an already sweet drink and adding cold foam on top. That was definitely on me though, and I need to come back to try the same drink less sweetened without the cold foam. Overall, I could tell the drink had good flavor, but it was just really sweet.

This spot is located in a food court area and was actually the only place open when we arrived. Since it is a stall, there is not too much to say other than there were two people working and a large display case filled with donuts, with malasadas in the back. After looking things over I asked if they had a lilikoi circle donut. They did not, but they recommended a strawberry glazed donut with lilikoi filling and I went with that. It came out nicely decorated with a pink glaze and a small dab of cream on top with a butterfly. When I bit into it I was happy with the flavor. The donut itself was light and fluffy and the strawberry glaze was solid. The real standout though was the lilikoi filling, which had that great balance of sharpness and sweetness and paired really well with the donut. My dad ordered a coconut malasada and said it was really good as well. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. They had a big selection of donuts, I enjoyed mine, and I would like to try their malasadas next time.
