Restaurant is very nostalgic! They have the oversized cushioned benches. Very cute. My waitress was super sweet and she had great recommendations. I purchased the 8oz NY strip (medium) and eggs and potatoes with biscuit. Side of the homemade gravy! Stopped by there a few weeks ago. Have been by there often and of late both the quality as well as the cost of going has slipped. Ordered a turkey sandwich and it came out cold, (like they had kept it in the refrigerator right before making the sandwich, was dry with a hard piece of Swiss cheese; my buddy ordered a slice of carrot cake and the total of the bill was in excess of $25. for those two items. read more

This place is the perfect spot to grab something delicious to satisfy your morning sweet tooth. When I used to work down in this area we would order in from here all time time for business events and their pastries were always well received. They are a family owned business serving up breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between. I've only ever been here in the morning for a coffee and sweet but they have a lot of diversity on their menu with many items that look extra tasty. Very very very rude waitress. Literally threw plates in our table, never gave us napkins or silverware. Over charged me, and when I asked her if the total was correct she said yes in a snappy way while sliding the receipt toward me in a "hurry up and sign" way. Did not give me a total before sliding my card. I called to question said bill and was told I was indeed overcharged. I went back in to fix their mistake and she told me she added a drink on my tab from someone else at our table and for me to find her and tell her to come back to pay them. 1. It was her mistake. Stopped in here as we were walking by. Interesting little set up. What looks to be decor, is for sale. Small town vibe for sure. Waitress was friendly and attentive. I was interested in trying the fish n chips that was on the menu because it smelled like fish n chips when we walked in. I asked if they had their own recipe, or used pre-made frozen fried fish, which of course it was the pre-made frozen. We opted for the lunch NY strip and salad instead. Price was around $13. The steak had a bit of fat on it...but was tasty and tender. Nicely seasoned and didn't require steak sauce...just wish it would have been bigger! The salad was pretty simple, but good. Honey mustard dressing could use some tweaking--a bit heavy on the mayo. Had a few glasses of the "homemade" lemonade. It was okay. If I was to venture through Chehalis again...I might consider stopping here again, but would more than likely see what some of the other local spots have to offer. read more

We stopped in because we are local-ish and hadn't tried it yet. I'm glad we did. We came here at lunchtime. The service is what you would expect in a small town place - friendly and attentive. They were busy but not packed. There was a general hum of good humor amongst the staff and customers. I had the beef dip and my husband had the Reuben. They were a little on the greasy side but super tasty. The fries were way over done. There weren't any pies that day because it sounds like there's only one woman doing all the desserts. They were apologetic about it and it wasn't a problem because I was so full. They have an amazing menu of ice cream desserts to choose from too. I'm only giving it a three this time based on the food. The experience and staff were wonderful and I definitely will try it out again. This is a solid place to stop and have diner style food. Stopped in here for a lunch last week and was reminded of why I havent been back since I went with a friend almost a year ago. The portions are ridiculously small for the price. I ordered quiche and salad. The quiche was as long as the palm of my hand and quite small in width. It must have been 1/10th of a small quiche pan or smaller. Not to mention that the top of it was burnt. The salad was 1/2 cup of lettuce with 3 chopped tomatoes, and 2 cucumbers. FOR 9.29! My adult friend had a sandwich that looked like it belonged on the kids menu. Was looking for a prime rib + ...cobbler for dinner. Not even kidding. I came across thai adorable diner/bakery on Yelp. The young lady who answered the phone was super sweet and helpful. They didn't have prime rib, but they had a philly steak sandwich and... marionberry cobbler. Ok, honestly I wanted to woof down that sandwich just to get to the cobbler. But I took my time to w/ the sandwich, because it was really good-salt lick good on soft lightly toasted buttered bun. I ordered a Philly cheese steak and some potato soup. It was very good. The only thing that bothered me was it cost an extra $1 to split the order. They literally brought me an extra plate and cut my sandwich in half and charged an extra $1. I wish the waitress would have told me that. I don't know if I will be back just because of that. :( read more

Lovely restaurant with a fun motif and much of the decor is available for purchase. Who doesn't like to eat and shop at the same time. Also many of the items are great conversation starters. The wait staff is extremely kind and efficient. The are opportunities to listen to music on certain days. A bit of constructive feedback: The wine list is minimal and not the best selection. It would be nice to have an option of an upgrade if one so chooses. Rethink the Caeser salad, at least the dressing. It was very basic with no shredded parm. With the amazing bakery I bet the coutouns could be out of this world instead of store bought. With this said this restaurant is one of our favorites and we will return many times. PS- I ordered a carrot cake for an event and it was AMAZING! My go to bakery for sure. read more

My first and last experience visiting Sweet Inspirations, unless I am given an apologize for the undeserving customer service. I brought my children into Sweet Inspirations because of it being highly recommend place from another local business. I have never been snubbed in my life until today. I sat down with my children ordered waters that arrived 15 minutes later (in the time we placed our drink orders, we waited, and waited while two other customers sat down, placed orders, were served drinks and their salads while we continued waiting on waters in the time of us waiting we still hadn't even placed our order). The ever kind snubby waitress acted as if was to much to help us finally took our order, and waited some more. Not like it was a hard order, being a soda shop we choose to have ice cream as a special treat. Once our order came she want back to acting as if our table had the plague. No refills, no socializing nada a welcoming feeling from within just grade A crappy service. My son who happens to be bi-racial asked me if it was because of his skin color, the service was so hostile and uncomfortable. I was ready to walk out twice, but because my youngest keep asking to stay, we stayed. Thank you Sweet Inspirations for your hostile comfort in your establishment. Being a local resident of Chehalis trying to support a local businesses in the area (since it seems like there's a lot of empty store spaces on Market St.). I will probably not be back to help support you unless you start giving ALL COLORS OF PIGMENTATION the same GREAT customer service WE SAW EVERYONE ELSE GETTING. This place had the best Maddox breakfast I've had in a very very long time. The hash browns were hand sliced into small ribbons. My eggs were perfectly over medium. And my sausage patty was thick and caramelized. Highly recommended. read more

One of the least exciting omelets I have ever had, the shrimp and mushroom omelet. Eggs were not in the least bit fluffy, more like a thick sheet of burlap. The cheese was sparce and the mushrooms lacked flavor. The hash browns were okay. The sourdough toast appeared to have come out of a bag from the local grocery store. I gave this 2 stars since it was a local hangout in a small town. In other words, I was hoping for more from a local mom and pop cafe. I will not return. I did like the local ambience. read more

They are never open. Closed for most of the holiday season. Closed Sundays and if they are open I think customers scare them. The run and hide behind the counter praying that you don't talk to them. I guess like most places in this area you have to be a regular to get service. With this said they may have good food but I will never know. read more
