Delicious and friendly service. We got the chocolate chip cookies and they were a great pick me up on a hot day. Can't wait for more!

The fruit tarts is probably my favorite of them all, the fruit is fresh and they're not stingy with it at all. The bread? So fluffy and great as well. They expanded from their old location to next door and it's really modern and beautiful on the inside. Very clean and they sell hot/cold coffee drinks as well! Just get there before 2pm as they barista is gone by that time. Highly recommend anyone looking for custom cakes, highly recommend anyone local, in reality , I highly recommend ANYONE to try them out. Huge shout out to the staff as well.

We picked up cake yesterday and it was the incorrect cake. They made it Tres leches and no fondant. We went in and spoke with manager that stated that the employee that took order is not in today. And refused to refund because there wasn't a contract for Fondant. We made order over the phone so obviously there wasn't a contract and we were never told that that we needed a contract for fondant in order to refund. Manager was very unprofessional because we told him that we pretty much have to pay for his employees mistake and he responded: Yes

The dessert was just as good--soft, flavorful, and topped with the perfect crunch for contrast. You can tell Cafe 86 knows exactly what they're doing when it comes to ube. It's a great late-night dessert spot with a relaxed vibe and consistently solid quality. If you're an ube fan (or trying it for the first time), Cafe 86 is a must.

*My overall impression is somewhat biased since I really enjoy ube, and outside of that preference…read moreI would consider this a fairly average café experience.* Parking: Cafe 86 is in a plaza surrounded by other small businesses and restaurants. It's off Reseda and its parking lot is usually a hot spot among people. There is a good amount of parking but depending on the time, it fills up quickly and can feel tight trying to maneuver your way through and find a spot. Ambiance: Cafe 86 is a, they specialize in coffee and matcha and truly have an expansive menu featuring lots of delicious ube variations. There is a good amount of seating in the cafe, from normal tables to a couch to lounge on. The interior of the cafe is lined with brick and the warm lighting casts a soft cozy feeling. There is ample space to sit and enjoy your drink. I'd even say it's a good spot to study as it is spacious and does not get too loud. Drinks/food: We've tried the Iced Ube Matcha latte, Iced sea salt latte, Iced Ube Latte, as well as the Ube truffles. I love the ube flavor and it pairs perfectly with their matcha. They don't use the highest quality matcha but the ube flavor carries and still provides a nice tasty drink. The iced coffee was good, a little too sweet and kind of just an average latte, nothing to write home about. The ube truffles are something sweet that hit the spot if you have that sweet ube craving. They are soft and chewy and just the perfect bite. I am definitely biased in general because I really like ube so if you aren't the biggest fan you may not like it Overall this place does make their drinks on the sweeter side so going half sweet is smart if you don't want a blast of sugar. Service: Everyone thus far has been extremely friendly and welcoming! Overall: Cafe 86 is a solid spot if you are in the mood and have a craving for sweet, ube forward drinks and sweets. The menu is fun and unique, especially for anyone who enjoys ube flavors. The cafe itself offers a comfortable, inviting space that works well for hanging out or getting some work done. While the drinks can run on the sweeter side and some of the drinks are just average, the overall experience is still enjoyable. The friendly service and relaxed atmosphere is a calm choice for a new casual cafe stop, particularly if you are there for their ube specialties.

I requested a pastel, whimsical, tea design cake and sent reference photos. What I received was bold, watermelon-like colors that completely clashed with my child's party theme and on top of that, a milestone 5th birthday. I was also only told after ordering and paying that Sunday pickup isn't normally allowed -- forcing me to pick up the cake at 8am the morning of the party. That policy should be disclosed upfront. We had to change plans in order to accomodate this request she unprofessionally sprung onto us. I emailed with photos and respectful feedback and received no response. Not even an acknowledgment. As a business owner, I would have been ashamed of this! The cake tasted fine, but the communication and customer care were terrible. I would not trust this bakery for an important event, ever! Please save yourself the trouble and thank me later ... i would give this review zero stars if I could.

Cakes looked fresh and after couple of minutes I decided to get the Ube Overload cake which was the perfect choice. It was so fresh and yummy. Glad I picked that one cause everyone loved it. Franz Adrian helped me with transaction and picking the cake. He was so nice and helpful. He provided an outstanding customer service. He even offered to write on the cake which was a very nice gesture. Most of the bakeries are not doing it anymore. He had a smile on his face when he was helping me which made the experience more pleasant. This bakery was very clean and shelves were full. They had a variety of bread, pastries. The only complaint I have is the parking. Sometimes it's hard to find a parking spot in this shopping center. Other than the parking everything was perfect and five stars.

However, the service at this location was a bit of a letdown. I called ahead to coordinate the order, and the person on the phone was incredibly sweet and helpful. Unfortunately, that energy didn't translate to the in-store experience. Even though the shop was completely empty when I arrived, the staff seemed very impatient and rushed me through the process. It felt a bit rude, especially considering I was there for a special occasion. I'd love to see the in-store team match the friendliness of their phone support. The Good: Ube Overload Cake is a 10/10. The Bad: Rushed service despite no crowd. Pro Tip: If you're ordering for a special event, calling ahead is great, but be prepared for a quick "in and out" vibe once you get to the counter.
