The prices are actually pretty good though, so I guess it evens out? We tried a bunch of slices. The Yojik chocolate was literally a cube of goodness. The Honey slice was hands down my absolute favorite and just outstanding! The Birdmilk slice was also very good. The Strawberry slice was my daughter's favorite and tasty for sure :) This one was the biggest of all the slices, or at least tied with the Yojik for overall size. Absolutely hit the spot! I decided to leave a review for Karina's Cake House because I was honestly surprised by the number of negative reviews. My experience was completely different -- very positive from start to finish. I came in looking for a Kyivsky cake, and the staff offered me three different options, clearly explaining the differences between them. They were friendly, patient, and welcoming. The price for a cake of that size is very reasonable. The taste was perfect for me -- not overly sweet, which I really appreciated. The atmosphere inside is wonderful: spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The display cases are spotless and literally shining. I'll definitely be back. Keep up the great work! read more

As I was paying for the Harry Potter Pop up Lollipop, I noticed that Vardui, the cashier is charging me $9.99. I mentioned that the amount she was charging me is incorrect and told her the price in the shelf is only $5.95. She said that it was a mistake. I said that they have to honor the price in the shelf because the price is deceptive and is an unfair business practice because they are charging a higher price at the register than the advertised and displayed price in the shelf. She said NO. And when I repeated myself, she said she'll talk to the manager, who also dismissed my request and said NO. I have submitted a formal complaint to the State. IN addition, the Kievsky Cake we purchased tasted horrible and something definitely has changed compared to the previous ones we bought. read more

I walked in excited to purchase cakes. My children and I have a sweet tooth and we were so excited ! The place looks gorgeous and welcoming However when you arrived the person who was helping us couldn't answer our questions She proceeded to walk to another employee send her over and she left us there and began attending another customer who spoke a different language (not English) and the other employee who came over to help us ;after I asked a simple question if the pieces were sold like Porto's she proceeded to say "I don't speak Spanish " I was taken aback because I was speaking in English. What made her assume I was speaking Spanish ? Because I look Latina ? How did I not know there was a location in the valley?!?. I have gone to the Glendale location for the kievsky cake which is a Ukrainian cake comprised of layers of crisp meringue and buttercream. It's delicious and beautiful inside and out. Unfortunately, they don't sell this cake by the slice, but they have so many other desserts to choose from if you don't want a whole cake. The cake is light without being overly sweet and love the fruit decorations. If I only get little treats I do love the beze slice and the bird milk slice. read more

Upon entering, you immediately step into a white modern bakery with a beautiful set up. First time to this bakery and location (co worker has brought some slices to work, which were all very tasty) I highly recommend the Snickers slice/cake, the Strawberry slice cake and Birds-milk slice. I was really looking forward to visiting the new Karina's Cake House location in the San Fernando Valley, especially since I've had consistently good experiences at their Glendale store. Unfortunately, my recent visit on Friday, July 18 was unsettling and disappointing. We stopped by to pick up a cake for a co-worker, and while the cakes looked great as usual, the customer service was not what I expected. The woman who assisted us came off as standoffish and disengaged. What made it more uncomfortable was witnessing her demeanor shift noticeably when assisting another customer--who was lighter-skinned and spoke the same language. She was suddenly much more friendly and attentive, which was hard to ignore. To add to the experience, while the cake looked beautiful, the taste was underwhelming. It had a somewhat chemical aftertaste, which was unexpected given the usually high quality from their Glendale location. I really wanted to support the new store and was excited about the convenience, but unfortunately, the customer service and taste did not meet the standard I've come to associate with Karina's Cake House. My husband usually buys me desserts from this place but today I went in with some friends. I was very disappointed with the customer service. The lady who took our order was very friendly and sweet but when she handed our order to the lady checking out (the red head) she was very rude and zero customer service. She rushed our order was very disrespectful and after my friend paid instead of handing her change in her hand she just placed the money on the counter ignoring my friend's hand that was extended to receive it, she then proceed with placing our dessert box down instead of handing it to us. I don't want to even give this one star but I don't have a choice. And the low rating is solely due to very bad customer service. The girl was very rude and disrespectful. Not friendly at all. Zero customer service skills. She answered the questions very minimally when I asked her about flavors. I got cake and pastries. They looked good but honestly I can't say that they were really good because all I remember from the place is her bad attitude, her snobbishness. I don't know what her problem was. I did feel racially profiled. Very unfriendly, unwelcoming. When I paid, no thank you. Didn't even bother to ask if you need a bag. She left the two boxes with receipt on the top of the boxes as if she is saying - pick up and get out. If I had not already paid I would have left without getting anything. I should have just left and I regret giving them business. Lesson learned. This is the first and last time at this place and in-fact at this chain. Not interested in any other location either. Will not go back and this is only because of unpleasant customer service experience . I liked the vibe of the store until my interaction with the girl.
