    Craft Sandwich

a fast casual place that's pretty good for a healthy lunch! I got a build your own sandwich and it comes with protein, 4 veggies, and dressing. when I went it was really busy and they were definitely more focused on making the salads (which I would get instead since the sandwich is kind of small). They also charged me extra for tzatziki even though it comes with the sandwich and I didn't get my pickle. if you do go, order online so they don't overcharge you

Great place to go to grab a quick, light lunch. I got the chimichurri grain bowl which was really good, as well as the blue magic smoothie which was good too.

I love Sweet Leaf! I didn't even know this location existed. It seems fairly new but maybe I just haven't been in the area in awhile. I was excited when I did a yelp search for "food" around the Ballston area and this popped up! I was mostly excited because I feel like I need to be eating cleaner and in my experience, Sweet Leaf has always had really fresh food. My go to is the Chicken Citrus salad.

The grilled cheese on the app which shows I would reached a side of fruit - I never received the fruit.

I am sick and ordered a grilled cheese sandwich from the Sweet Leaf in Ballston hoping to get something quick, simple, and easy. I added a tomato on the sandwich and it was supposed to come with a side of fruit as well. When my fiancé brought me home my order there was no tomato (that I paid extra for), nor was there a side of fruit...not to mention it was completely cold with the cheese congealed within ten minutes of receiving it. It was so cold, the cheese was so hard, and the fact the tomato wasn't on it made it seem like it was made for a different order that passed and they just gave me an old sandwich. Since I ordered through the app I tried explaining what happened and sending a photo through the app, but was unable to do so. It gave me the number for the store, so I called and explained what happened. Immediately the young female told me it wasn't her fault and the addition of the tomato wasn't on the receipt. She told me I could come back and get a replacement order - I said I would prefer a refund. She said she can't refund me and only her manager can. I asked for an email, text, or anything in writing that would give me proof that we had this conversation and that the money would be refunded. We went on for over 10 minutes where she wouldn't provide anything to prove we had the conversation, nor would she give me an email for me to send my receipt, picture, explain what happened...essentially she completely wasted my time and wouldn't help me. She then said something in Spanish and hung up on me. TERRIBLE customer service with the inability to accurately make the food means I'm not going back. With other salad and sandwich stores close by I'll be going there instead. Seeing as how the young female I spoke with isn't able to make the sandwich correctly, take accountability for not making it correctly (instead blamed the customer), and is unable to give a refund, I'm not quite sure what she is capable of doing as an employee at Sweet Leaf. I already had to convince my friends to go to Sweet Lead instead of all the other food choices nearby and explain that it was underrated...that's not happening anymore. Sweet Leaf took money from me and didn't provide a service, then blamed me and hung up on me.

    Steak Medallion with Salad

Sweet Leaf is way better than Sweetgreen in my opinion. Their salad is about the same price but the quality and proportions are significant. I usually get the green tea and steak medallion salad (make your own). Green Tea: pretty typical Lipton green tea. It is unsweetened but that's how I like it. Steak Medallion Salad: this is a customized salad and I just add on steak medallion. I love that they have alfalfa sprouts because you can't really get that at other salad fast food chains. The steak medallion is 100% worth the extra cost IMO. They are very generous with their proportions. Also highly recommend the avo ranch! Overall: Sweet Leaf is the best salad chain IMO. They are always so friendly whenever I come visit and have a huge variety of fresh ingredients.

This place is cute. It's on the ground floor of the Residence Inn. A great location. The ambiance is hipster (wood, brick, shared tables, etc.) & in my sweet spot. I had a tasty salad. It would have been better to have gluten free bread so that I could have ordered a sandwich, as I had wanted. I had the citrus sesame chicken salad. I really enjoyed it. BF has the Kale Kobe and a mint chocolate shake. He really liked both. The drinks were bottled, other than the shakes and smoothies (which both used dairy). So, I didn't get that either (allergies). What I had was good. But it would have been better to be able to order what I wanted.

I am still writing this review in real time because this is the second time I have ordered from this sweet leaf location and my order was messed up. It wasn't like this before. Please do better.

Anyone who remembers this place from years ago remembers taking a number, waiting in line, and getting one of the best made-to-order subs in the region? The sandwiches were worth the wait. Maybe the parents moved back to Italia and the kids got stuck with the greedy landlord. Now its just a lazy we don't care overpriced landlord run revenue generator. 6 years after COVID and the subs are still pre-made dying in over stacked pile on the counter. The rolls are often soggy by the time they reach the customer, and the fillings are so thinly layered that each bite feels more like bread sandwich with some after thought what's inside. It screams KEEP THE COST DOWN. What was once a destination deli now feels like a place that's simply too tired to care. The decline reminds me of when DC bartenders traded free pours for jiggers. Less booze, higher prices, and a straight face while handing it to you 30 minutes later with a clever name like Adam's Apple. Same business model here. Less meat, more bread, and somehow we're all expected to clap. The saddest part is that it's still busy, largely because there are fewer and fewer alternatives. The independent mom-and-pop shops that gave this area character have been pushed out, and we're left with a shell of what this place used to be. At this point, I've had fresher and better-constructed subs from Harris Teeter. That's not meant as a compliment. When customers start comparing a legendary deli to a grocery store sandwich counter--and the grocery store holds its own--it's probably time for some serious soul-searching. Nostalgia can only carry a business so far. Unfortunately, the sandwich I had was living almost entirely on memories.

It only took a quick 10 minutes to receive our entire order, which was 3 burgers, a crispy fried chicken sandwich, loaded fries, and 2 milkshakes! I was very happy with how efficient the service was and the most important part, how delicious every bite was! The smashburgers are made with 100% halal beef and they come out HOT with perfectly crispy edges on the patties and a juicy center. We ordered 3 burgers and each of them stood out in their own way. You can get a single, double, or triple patty burger and add whatever toppings to it too. The jalapeño burger was the star of the show, it had a such a nice and spicy kick to it. I wasn't expecting much but this burger had HEAT! Another favorite was the Juicy Lucy. It was packed with grilled onions and the patty was stuffed with cheddar cheese. A super messy and cheesy option that was definitely worth every bite! I liked that Jon's Joint offered other options too such as loaded fries and fried chicken sandwiches. What I found unique is that for the loaded fries, you can get it with falafel and make it spicy! This time, they had run out of the falafel so I am excited to try it next time. If you're in Arlington and craving a casual burger spot, you need to go to Jon's Joint. You'll get quick service and a delicious meal!

You can tell the owner is really into Superheroes. I ordered the grilled chicken. The good thing is that it is cooked to order. Loved that. Downside, no seasoning, AT ALL. This would be fine, I understand dietary considerations with sodium. What had me perplexed was they had NO PEPPER in the entire restaurant. I've NEVER been at a restaurant that didn't have any pepper. Plenty of salt, seasoned salt and even more salt. No pepper. Burgers seem to be popular. Wasn't very crowded, but seemed popular by locals. It was a "meh" for me. I do however really like that the food is cooked to order.

I love the dipping sauce. I ate all but three, and reheated them in the toaster oven for dinner. They were still very good. I finished the meal off with the Keylime pie. Everything on it was great, with my favorite being the sliders since it was crispy and a little meaty. The empanada was a little oily but still satisfying, and the croquettes had great crunchy texture. Yuca was okay. I should've gotten a sweeter coffee drink cause I have a sweet-tooth but it was still solid. The inside vibe is pretty chill. You just grab seating yourself and can order on your phone through the QR code that's associated with the table. You can also order at the front. There is parking around the area too (paid and unpaid (if you're lucky)). Glad I came here and checked it out. Definitely a solid chain for a quick bite and refreshing drink.
