Sweetgreen is a quick salad place. You can order from the preset salad menu and customize however you would like. Or, you can completely have one made with everything you want. They even ask if you want your dressing to be light, regular, or heavy. The staff was very energetic and provided quick service. All of the ingredients were out in display so you can actually see your salad options. The place was simple and clean. We ended up trying the BBQ Chicken Salad with a slice of bread. The salad is packed in a bowl with a lid. That bowl was surprisingly heavy. It was completely stuffed! There was just enough dressing to cover everything without being too much. And, the salad was pretty good. The price was very much on the expensive side, so that would probably deter us from going there over and over. But, a good place to have every now and then. read more

This is my go to sweetgreen when I'm working on Arlington. Our workplace has an outpost so all our orders are opened until 10:30 AM and deliveries are prompt at noon for lunch. It makes ordering for convenient and quick for me when I don't have time the night before to prep a meal for work. Food is overall refreshing and a good portion. I would recommend to always double up on protein as one order is not enough. The summer bowls look interesting but my go to is the BBQ chicken salad or guacamole greens. What's nice is that you can still modify your bowl even after selecting their pre-set bowl choices. Their beverages are just ok, nothing worth purchasing honestly. In terms of ambiance I haven't technically walked into this store location but I can say I'm quite happy in terms of delivery. read more

Came in near closing time around 9:30pm. The lady up at the front seemed like she hated her job and I had to be the first to say hello. If I have to be the first to say hello, it's now a red flag in my book. 0 stars for customer service. The entire time I felt like I didn't belong -- not sure if it was her resting face or if she was actually mad if I was there. Everything I asked for seemed so little. Not that it's necessary to give extra away during closing time, but if all that food is going to be thrown away (I worked in food service before so I know), why still be stingy? The music was so loud so I couldn't even hear the answers to the questions I asked (e.g how many veggies can I get? Are the nuts included?) When I tried to pay, it wouldn't allow me to pay unless I hit a button. I thought the POS was touch screen but it was not. The screen said $14.96 so I thought pressing the green button would allow me to pay (in the past clicking the red X cancels the entire transaction). Clicking the green button added an extra 18% tip which was unwarranted and it happened all too fast after trying several times to pay. I never want to tip for bad customer service. I went back, asked for the receipt, and asked for the manager. Again it's near closing time and he said he can't refund my tip. But he also didn't ask if there was anything he could've done to have made the experience WORTH my tip. I'm never coming back here, and unless you want to be charged unwarranted tips for bad customer service, I recommend not coming here either. Note: I got home and started eating and got purple rice. I thought I was chewing on plastic or cardboard, but the rice was just either undercooked or overcooked because it was not soft. read more

Last night, I purchased a water bottle at the cashier. After paying, I quickly placed it in the provided bag and left. This morning, I took it out of the bag and, after drinking some of it, I realized there was a label on the bottle with someone else's name. The label appeared to be part of another order or perhaps from a returned item. It also specified to drink the water by 5:30 PM. I'm shocked and deeply concerned for my health--was this a used or tampered water bottle? The thought that it might have been a return or that I had to drink it by 5:30 PM when it was past that, raises serious worries about potential health risks. This situation is unacceptable, and the establishment must ensure better quality control to prevent issues like this. I love this chain and their salads! My personal favorite is the kale caesar. I really love their caesar dressing and the parmesan chips they throw into the salad. For me, what matters the most in a salad is the dressing and the sweetgreen caesar dressing is top notched. A light amount of dressing is good enough for me! My only small complaint is that the portion size given to me was that it was a lot smaller compared to the other locations I've gone to. Sweetgreen is doing contactless delivery during the coronavirus outbreak. Their salads are a bit pricey but very delicious and the portions are very generous. I love their variety of bases--I'm partial to kale and warm grains. Their ingredients are always fresh and the preset salads are loaded with tons of toppings and rotate seasonally. I'm a huge fan of the kale Caesar and anything with avocado on it, since their avocados seem to always be just ripe. Consider getting Sweetgreen and tip your delivery person generously! read more

I have a love hate relationship with this location. I come here about 3 times a week for lunch because its healthy, i love the salads, and it's right around the corner from work. Suffice it to say, I have never been a more committed Sweetgreener, so perhaps I'm just more acutely aware of issues that may be common to other locations as well. When they're open, they're pretty great and often packed so I either try to get in there at 11:30 or after 1 pm to avoid the massive line. Unfortunately, it's been closed at least 3 times in the last 2 months for a) no apparent reason (just a "sorry for the inconvenience" sign on the door) or b) broken equipment. This little wonder has been so close to my house and I had no idea. I recently came here with my friends for lunch and again at 9 pm. Both times I loved it. I think I enjoyed the shroom salad over the spring chicken. Although it's hard to say because they make really great salads. The spring chicken was nice and also great that the staff asks you how much sauce you want. It was light and refreshing. I feel healthier already! Both times I have come, there has been plenty of seating. It also has outdoor seating but also has a nice shady close-by if there are no seats and it's not raining. Food is well prepared, I don't have any food allergies or major dietary restrictions so I cannot speak to that health concern some may present. CHICKEN PESTO PARM - Wow, this bowl was delicious and filling. I've created my own salads before at sweetgreen and never feel full, but this bowl definitely had me full. I swapped out the roasted chicken for blackened chicken and quinoa for wild rice. The flavors perfectly blend together. Even though the one sauce is hot sauce, the bowl is not too spicy at all. It just helps boost the flavor of the pesto and toppings. It was a decent amount of breadcrumbs, so every bite did have breadcrumbs in it providing a nice crunch, but I will never complain about bread, so that was my favorite part! read more

It's rare to find salads that not only taste good, but are filling and healthy for you. During the evening, this place is pretty empty so it's quick to order and have your salad made and tossed with dressing. There's seating both inside and outside, and all the ingredients are fresh. I've tried almost all the different salads and warm bowls here, and the Spicy Thai Salad is definitely one of my favorites. They also have three seasonal salads that change every few months. Overall, this is a great Sweetgreen and the staff is friendly and they know what they are doing. This is one of my staple places to eat when I'm in Ballston, and I love that the salads are delicious, the menu/variety changes with every season, and I don't have to feel guilty about eating out when I'm eating Sweetgreen. I have been walking to get my dinner salad here in Ballston. I order and pay ahead so that strategy forces me to walk. And am pleased we gave so many choices. I have made several runs to sweetgreen. Overall my dinners have been super fresh. I do love, really love, the spicy broccoli. I usually add 3 or 4 helpings. For the massive amount of veggies, the price is fine by me, my salads cost around 16 dollars with the extras I add in. After a streak of great salads I got one that had some not so fresh vegetables. I left feedback on the website. Hearing nothing, I emailed customer service and they answered me and refunded my salad. So I edited this review because corporate took my complaint seriously. That means a lot to me. So on the basis of the quality of the salads I buy and that the one time that I was not happy, corporate answered my complaint and giving SG 5 stars and going back tonight for my dinner salad. read more

It was a nice day outside so we decided to walk around arlington and eat outside. This was my first time at sweetgreens. Im not the type to crave a salad or even have a salad as a meal but wanted to give this place a try because Ive seen it around. Its a similar concept to chipotle but a salad base version. They have plenty of options for you or you can make your own. We ordered a kale caesar off the menu and i built my own (spinach, raw beets, tomatoes, carrots, apples, egg, with pesto vinaigrette). Theres so many different options available that you could create anything you want and never get tired of eating a salad. Both salads were delicious and I like how you can choose light, medium, or heavy for the dressing. They have a sign in the front to let you know where they get their produce from and they also do not have a soda machine which is logical since soda isnt exactly healthy. They do offer a variety of tea that states how much sugar is in each incase you're curious. read more

Just came by here for dinner tonight and it was bad. Like sweetgreen don't let me down but you did. :/ I got my usual, which was the Guac Greens but I noticed that the portion size I received this time was SO small. I compared it to the customer's next to me and her bowl had way more ingredients(?) But this was not the worst part. When I bit into the avocado (which btw was not chopped up into the salad, it was the entire avocado half just thrown in there), it was ROCK SOLID. I had never actually eaten an avocado that was not ripened but I guess this is the experience I would have if I did?? I thought sweetgreen's quality control would have been better and for $11 I was sorely disappointed. I actually had to spit the avocado out because I couldn't eat it. (It was too hard to chew.) I am honestly quite shocked and this was the very first negative experience I've had at a sweetgreen establishment. I hope they can keep an eye out on their quality control here and improve for the better.
