Sweet leaf on Quincy is such a hidden gem. They have four or five breakfast options, I've tried them all and they are great. My favorite is the morning glory sandwich. They serve breakfast all day but don't start serving lunch until 10:00 am. My recommendation for bowls is the Kabboi, super flavorful/filling. Recommendation for salad is the spicy avocado, unique mix of ingredients that work well together. Recommendation for sandwich is the San Remo, probably won't be able to finish it cause it's huge. Have a food allergy? Well, sucks for you. Often times the staff is on Autopilot and they make the salad no matter what you ask them to modify it with. Oh, you try to clarify and ask them to re-make it correctly? The staff will give you talk back and attitude. Which honestly, just takes unnecessary time out of my day and makes me feel bad for no reason That's the 'live' experience. This has happened to me 3 times now so I don't think it's just someone having a bad day. Now. As for the delivery experience. I ordered a salad the other day on Uber Eats with VERY specific instructions. I talked with the Uber Eats driver on the phone and he assured me that the staff made the salad correctly. Right? WRONG. I am lactose intolerant and I can't eat bacon. My salad had both of those things and therefore that was money down the drain. I'm so excited Sweet Leaf has finally opened in Ballston. It's a great place to get a sandwich and salad, or soup when they have it. You had me the moment I walked through your doors. I felt like I was entering an adorable farm fresh Pinterest board. You know the board, the one everyone wants and pins. I loved my experience there. The environment was very warm and friendly, bright and energizing, but also relaxing. They offer quite a lot of freshly made items. They have all of their fresh ingredients at the very front so you see what you are eating and how it was made. The employees were super friendly. They also asked if I wanted to join their loyalty program...well, of course I did! But unfortunately, I don't live here. I have only been to this location one other time, the first experience was good. However this time wasn't so pleasant. Flies everywhere place did not seem clean. Employee when trying to close the salad bowl kept touching the lettuce with his hands. He also kept looking up at the menu since he didn't even know what was in the salad. Had the harvest bowl after a workout which contaings, eggs, fresh feta, pesto, greens... and it was delicious and guilt free! The ingredients tasted very fresh and the service was great, I barely waited at all. The location is very convenient if you are looking for a quick bite after a workout at the Ballston Gold's Gym. After going to Sweet Leaf on Quincy Street in Arlington VA, for quite some time now, I was surprised today when I ordered my Turkey and Apple sandwich to later find out after I got to work that I was given the end of the bread. Although I ate it, being that I had no choice, and I couldn't go back to Sweet Leaf, I was very disappointed. This changed the whole taste of my sandwich. The only reason I didn't give it just one star on my review is because I am a repeat customer and I've had much better experiences in the past. Quality-wise, this place is a big thumbs up! I got the Mai Thai salad and it was really good, mainly because of the peanut dressing. The tofu was cooked to a perfect level of crunchy satisfaction, the greens tasted fresh, and the quinoa just made me feel very healthy and proud of myself. On the other hand, I was still starving after I had this meal. The portion looks large because the salad bowls are huge, but when you really think about what's in a salad and how much of the bowl is -actually- filled with food, it's not a lot. Don't expect to be satisfied if you're hungry. Don't expect this to be a full meal's worth (unless you're used to eating very light meals). I completely don't mind that it's not super filling...I get that salads aren't going to be. But if I'm paying a meal's worth of money, I kind of want a meal's worth of food. The decor is very homey and quaint. They have succulents on every table (and I'm a huge fan of succulents so that was a plus) and it feels like it's a good place to eat a nice meal and talk about life with your friends. Or just eat a salad and feel good about yourself. One last thing...I wish there were signs or something that told you what to do with your plates and such. I came in for a quick takeaway lunch on a Saturday after an appointment in the area and Sweet Leaf definitely delivered on the goods. The location is in the bottom of a hotel or next to a hotel; I can't remember which situation. I was able to pull up and park easily but I imagine during the work week parking is limited. There was no line; I was in and out in 5 minutes. The employee at the beginning of the production line greeted me immediately and began working on my kale Cobb salad. When I specified I did not want the almonds, I was asked if I'd like a substitute ingredient, of which I asked for strawberries. At the end of assembly, I was asked if I wanted fresh bread, but I declined. The salad came to around $12 but was a really large portion with fresh ingredients, including, avocado, egg, bacon,onion,grilled chicken,and tomato. The dressing was a light vinaigrette and, pre-tossed, was not overwhelming, as I often find salads drowning in dressing. Several of the sandwiches looked delicious, and they have frozen yogurt too. Finally made it to Sweet Leaf, tried the Thai salad which was just ok but could've had more variation in the greens or other things mixed in. I liked the tofu option. I also tried the healthy start veggie breakfast sandwich, which was underwhelming - just wheat toast, egg whites, a bunch of spinach, and mushrooms (I ordered without cheese). For $5, I would go with a Starbucks breakfast sandwich or make my own. The decor was well done, simple but nice. Had the Koo Koo Roo sandwich and it was excellent. It was a bit on the spicy side which I like. Ladies had salads which they really enjoyed also. Again, some spicy. Their lemonade was okay. A bit too sweet and could have been lemonier. However, we came back the next day and they were out of chicken which seems to a staple in a lot of their food. I love the Caprese sandwich and my wife loves the Saboroso salad. Our children enjoy the PBJ and BLTs from the kid's menu. Price: cheap for this area. $5 for a BLT? $9 for a sandwich that blows any other out of the water? And it's delicious? Great deal. Also, their app allows you to get discounts and they always have fresh ice water available for free. It's a cute place but not open for dine in right now but you can order via app or online and do pick up or delivery. This review is not based on the restaurant as a whole, as I have had some decent food there in the past, but on the utterly grotesque salad I had there today. I ordered a Nicoise salad and there was nothing Nicoise about it. A classic Nicoise salad must have the following ingredients to be considered as such: Hard boiled egg Green beans Red skinned potatoes Tuna (fresh or in some cases, canned) Nicoise olives *And preferably, a savory vinaigrette as opposed to sweet Sweet leaf had one of those five ingredients, hard boiled eggs, and they were chopped which when tossed around in their too sweet vinaigrette, just dissolved into yellow eggy paste that coated everything. I've had many Nicoise salads -- some quite good, actually -- that did not fall into the classic Nicoise salad category. What made this salad utterly inedible in my mind, was that they added overly sweet and soppy tuna salad to it. And then they tossed the heck out of it so that every piece of anything in that salad had a coating of that heavy, sweet and soppy tuna salad on it rendering it limp and just plain gross. So I couldn't have picked around the grossness even if I tried. I would suggest that Sweet Leaf either completely rethink this recipe or take it off the menu. In the meantime, unless my description of this salad sounds appealing to you, I would highly recommend you avoid this salad. read more

I stopped by on my way home from the metro and tried one of the salads (the one with avocado, pesto and chicken?) and it really didn't taste like anything but maybe I got the wrong thing and at least it looked healthy at least. I then got a fruit smoothie, which they told me to choose three of the four fruits they had on display to make it with. I chose orange, mango, and strawberry and it was a very interesting combination. I may have been better off just choosing one fruit or having them make a combination for me. One of my favorite places to eat! Everytime I order the food is great I never have to worry about quality. They mixed my order up one time but fixed the situation the same day when I called them and was able to pick it up. Also, if you order ahead the food is always done in a timely manner. Ordered the San Remo salad and it way okay. I subsituted the provolone cheese with mozerella cheese and substituted sun-dried tomatoes with regular tomatoes. The pesto and avocado in the salad were good. The mozzarella cheese was fine, but certainly nothing special. Maybe I'll add balsamic vinigarette next time. I do like that they also have sandwiches, milkshakes, and soups here. I've had the chicken tortilla soup in the past which is quite good. The mint chocolate chip milkshake was also delicous. For salads, I still put Sweetgreen ahead of Sweet Leaf, but the variety of food at Sweet Leaf does add a different dimension which is positive. read more

I walked in and one girl smiled to ackowledge me and then left to go to the back, but the guy behind to counter didn't even look up. There was only one guy in front of me and it looked like he'd only ordered a sandwich. I was standing there, ready to order for what felt like 10 minutes (it was probably closer to 6 or 7, but I'm annoyed right now.) And the guy didn't even look at me. No "I'll be right with you" no smile. Nothing. It was like I wasn't there. I came to this place for the first time today even though I've lived 2 blocks aways from it ever since it opened. I wanted to try it because I like healthy eating and farm to table concepts. The service was really slow and I was the only person in there. Literally the only customer. I ordered the healthy snack sandwich (spinach, egg white, mushroom, on whole wheat). It didn't excite me, but it wasn't bad. The latte I ordered was good. It was just a plain latte and they did a good job. I also got a smoothie here and I don't like that they don't have options on the menu for them. I had to pick my own from the random assortment of fruits they had. They didn't even have strawberries or bananas. So I got kiwi and tangerine slices. They blend it with yogurt I think. It was ok, but it was just a weird blend and I was disappointed in the choices they had. All in all, this place bores me. I would only go back if I had to.
