I went to Luis for screen repair bc my laptop fell onto the floor on the side and the screen cracked, and blacked out with dead pixels on the screen. Luis repaired it for me so fast with incredible turnaround time within days. List of why Luis goes above and beyond: 1. Cared about saving me money whenever possible and was very transparent about prices, talked me through details and options for replacement screens and gave pros and cons of each while comparing prices. He sent screenshots of prices and receipts as well as FedEx tracking. (As an aside, I mentioned I might Lyft to his place to send the laptop and he said 'don't do that, so expensive, take MUNI and save money!') 2. After receiving my laptop, he also saw my right speaker had bad sound (I've been meaning to get this fixed for a while and have been putting it off) and offered to fix it himself. He was going to do it for an additional $50 then later just charged me $25 bc the speaker he found wasn't "perfect" according to him but to me it sounds great haha. This saved me so much instead of going to Apple without warranty which would have been at least $200 bc from what I read, they usually insist on replacing the entire "top case" and not just single speakers. Wow, thanks Luis! 3. I am badly organized and don't maintain my storage well; when I went to pickup he gave me many tips on what to fix and how to free up more storage, then organized my desktop for me in front of me. Thanks Luis! His communication is also top notch, very fast response times, very detailed texts. He's absolutely fantastic. You are in good hands if you go to him.

Hate to write a negative review and truly confused by all the positive reviews. Luis was generally…read morekind but quick to anger, which was weird for me to have to manage/not walk on eggshells with him as part of his temperament and EXTREMELY FORGETFUL. He locked himself out immediately when I first met up with him with the keys on the bench we sat on inside and would repeat tons of information we already discussed and agreed on such as meeting time etc. His anger around why I wouldn't share my password felt unnecessary and seemed like he took it personally. These were already red flags and made me hesitate, but how he presented my problem felt like I needed help fast (water damage). This is all fine and I'm not judging him as a person (actually feel compassionate towards it), but these behaviors and unprofessionalism/difficulty working with him when I'm paying him and entrusting my $2.4k laptop to him is not something I should need to manage. He works out of his home as a solopreneur. His general navigation with the laptop when I went to get it was a strange mix similar to watching a somewhat computer illiterate elderly person navigate and be confused about how the external monitor/keyboard/etc connected and still worked/didnt work but have brief more clear glimpses/capabilities in repair in some cases and was insistent on driving/being the navigator slowly when I was simply trying to navigate so we could save his time. He was kind in trying to work with me since I did not want to share my password but again, it was somewhat tense due to this and I don't know how forgetful/careful he was during the work he actually did. This level of work needs a sort of clarity of mind and it did feel like I was working with an elderly person who wasn't clear all the time. Unfortunately he did the exact sort of cleaning method that permanently damaged my laptop further beyond repair (ultrasonic cleaning) and removes evidence of where the actual damaged parts are. He did not mention that this would potentially damage it further and also remove the possibility of fixing the board or I would not have agreed. This is an outdated technique and other shops said this did irreparable damage that made fixing the logic board impossible (they looked for a good 3 hrs). Luis actually convinced me that the logic board could not be repaired either way and the whole thing would need to be replaced if any part stopped working, so he lied about this directly. In fact he repeatedly emphasized that no one does any board repairs (completely made up fact) and cleaning was the only way to try else board replacement. He also did not test if my screen was damaged when this is a standard test at other shops and made it seem like it was not possible. The service basically rushed me to quickly get it more damaged. Luis called it a successful repair because the laptop still turned on and could be used with an external monitor (which was how it was before I sent it to him). That's not a success to me. I trusted his judgement and what he was sharing out of goodwill and regret it. Unfortunately I paid in cash and he would not refund me a single cent. Please do your due diligence of researching everything he says and probably/definitely go elsewhere. I am a v clear headed person unlike him, so he also remembers incorrectly (for example I did end up using icloud sync and he cant remember this, which is a random detail he mentioned for no reason). And I know for sure he mentioned that even Apple does not do microsoldering, to imply that no one does and on n on about this and how it doesn't work well. I paid $225 (which I had to bargain down from 250 because again to me my laptop still doesnt work) and had to get my logic board replaced elsewhere for $950 when it could've been a much cheaper fix. The other shops were surprised at how amateur the work was with sophisticated ai generated reports detailing the work. whatever rate of success he mentioned should not mean it actually makes things worse. pictures beforehand dont undo the damage of removing microcomponents washed away. There was no threat from my end, I just stated I would be sharing my real review (that I felt inclined to write even without any final hiccups) and this was after a lot of back and forth trying to reach any middle-ground with 0 offer to refund even a single cent, so what he replied with is completely inaccurate- he would have certainly not refunded me under any circumstances, not just cuz I mentioned a review ofc. Here it is, and I think I am a very fair reviewer. A discerning person can see his deflection (he edited it). Again, I am not judging him as a person but as a business owner I'm paying to be professional and dependable and accountable. That failed. Gaps are addressed by being accountable to damage you've done, not any other way. Accountability here is a refund and apology for the costly oversights. Do not work with this immature and forgetful person full of excuses.

It seems to be a common issue with older 1997-2001 Camrys and the solution was to replace with a new resistor (I tried replacing the VSS, transmission solenoids, spark packs/wires/plugs, new alternator and battery) per a video on YouTube. They did a great job with the soldering of the new resistor and I put the odometer/speedometer back together and into the car with no issues. Now to see if this resolves my Camry issues! Big thank you to Andrea for her prompt replies to my questions and Carlos for ensuring that the techs knew what needed to be done!

When I brought it back, I was charged an additional $60 to fix what should have already been resolved. What's most frustrating is that I couldn't get a clear explanation as to why I was being charged again for the same issue. If a repair doesn't hold up after a week, that should fall under some kind of workmanship guarantee--not an additional charge. I want to continue supporting this business because I've had good experiences in the past, but this situation felt unfair and left me questioning the quality and accountability of the repairs.

I was also told I would be given the opportunity to test the screen before paying to ensure I was satisfied. Located in Westlake, once you get to the front door of the building it's a short easy walk up upstairs and it's the first office on the right. I signed in, he told me a few housekeeping things to be mindful of after the phone gets repaired. I dropped off the phone and it took no longer than 15 minutes. The screen worked great! Very responsive and felt like a brand new phone. I tested it and happily paid. I would not hesitate recommending people to come here for iPhone repairs. Easy consultation, fast service and good communication.

I am going to have to agree with Derek D and give this retailer a big THUMBS DOWN for their bait and switch tactics as well as the B.S. factor which stunk so bad I thought I was going to step in it. It is one thing to be ripped off but another completely to be lied to directly by the vendor, hence insulting one's intelliegence. Please do not consider this predudicial as it is a cultural norm rather than an ethical stereotype to wheel and deal in the middle east . The owner of this store is of middle eastern descent. Now, I have nothing against folks from the 'big sand box' (I did a tour in Iraq myself for a year and loved the people) but one thing for certain is they can be the nicest, most ethical people interpersonally but when it comest to their their business ethics honesty often goes out the window in order to make a buck and survive. They often do and will use will use every tactic in the book to try and get more money out of you by representing one thing and then selling another (bait and switch), misrespresenting product, overclaiming and overstating capabilities or simply insulting your intelligence and flat out B.S'ing a person to make the sale. You have to haggle and snaggle to get your best price with them. This is a simple cultural fact, and I assure you I am not racially stereotyping a people, it is common practice throughout the markets of the middle east to not pay asking price and to wheel and deal. Well In Rome do as the Romans do. I am not in Iraq anymore and I don't want to or need to haggle on my price. I just want to know what I am going to pay for something and when I look on a website of a business and the memory I am searching for is quoted as 39.99 then I expect to pay 39.99. I even called this fool and made a verbal inquiry to determine that the price would be the same as the internet. Now, there is NO parking in this area so on a soaking rainy morning before work I rode MUNI down to this hard to find shop on 1st street , bringing my music sampler along to ensure that the memory would work. Once I brought the unit out of my backpack and the middle eastern fellow behind the counter saw what I was using it for, he gave me the 256 MB memory I asked for. I put it in my unit and up popped on the samplers screen 128MB installed. Now, he gives me a puzzled look and I said to him that my sampler can only see one side of a memory chip and that is why I have to install 256 MB, and assured him that it was not a problem with his memory. When I asked him how much I owed, he begins this BS schpiel with me, telling me that the memory on the internet is no longer in stock, and the memory for my machine is a special dual-sided memory , but he will give me a 10 percent discount. After his excuse, he lays an 81.00 . Now, the memory is in my machine, and I almost tore it open and threw it back in his face but NO, I stayed calm, gave him my Visa and quietyly paid the money for memory that OEMPCWORLD.COM or CRUCIAL.COM would charge 29.95 for. http://www.oempcworld.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Category_Code=PC133-SODIMM&Screen=PROD&Product_Code=256M-SO133 I could have even had next day shipping from them and still saved 30 bucks. Last year I spent $100 to have my smartphone's touchscreen replaced. They quoted me the part and the labour cost separately. Even saying I could buy the part itself. Four months later the touchscreen went. I lazily attributed it to being an old phone. This time around I just wanted a part on my new phone that cost only a few bucks as I could fix it myself. THESE GUYS ARE AWESOME !!!!! My MacBook crashed and I couldn't get it to 2 reboot. Brought it to Apple store and they said motherboard was damaged and laptop needed 2 b replaced. Took it to Sweet Memory expecting same diagnosis, but Kenny and Achilles were able to restart MacBook with all data/ files intact and didn't charge me anything. I spent $430 for repairing water damage to my MacAir that the Apple store wouldn't touch for less than $750. In addition, Sherman helped me with my Chrome Browser that he diagnosed as causing the 'beachball' effect after the repair (which I had prior to the water damage). Very personal service. Seeing a company rated 5 stars is rare but then after the service the Micheal gave to my computer at a great pice, he was able to clean everything and run everything back to almost when my computer was new. Very straight forward and assuring on getting my computer fixed and up and running. Highly recomend them and i know if anything else happens to my computer im hitting TechinSF first. The screen had lines and would black out, making the laptop unusable. When I took it to the Apple Store, I was quoted $1,100 just to send it in for diagnosis, or $1,400 for a new laptop. I contacted two other repair shops, but they didn't handle Macs or water damage. Thankfully, I found San Francisco Bay Computer Services. They quoted me $467 for the repair, which included a screen with the Apple logo. I paid a 50% deposit, and they ordered the part, which arrived in just one day. I dropped off the laptop in the morning and picked it up the same day--fully repaired and working perfectly! They also provided a 30-day warranty on labor and assured me the parts have a manufacturer warranty. To top it off, I received a 20% discount on labor for my next visit (not that I hope to need it anytime soon!). Ed was responsive on the phone and texted me when laptop was ready for pickup. Their professionalism, efficiency, and fair pricing make them stand out. I highly recommend this business to anyone in need of computer repairs, especially for Macs!

I washed my iPhone X after a backpacking trip that had us going…read morepast poison oak, and I thought the waterproof rating would protect it (it did not, probably because I also used soap). I went in after the Apple store told me they'd do nothing to help me get a backup, and the best they could do was replace my phone with a new one for $600+, without any of my data. Anthony immediately gave me advice about how to attempt a backup, and walked me through getting an iCloud setup and attempting a backup. Unfortunately, the phone didn't stay on for long enough for the backup to complete. So he took it and removed all the water, then did a backup before attempting ANY other repairs as I had told him the most important thing was my data (I didn't ask him to do this - he just listened and understood what my priorities were). Then Anthony tested the phone fully and told me what other repairs would be required. All in all, fixed my phone back to perfect working order for much less than the cost Apple were going to charge, PLUS they saved all my data. Sweet Memory were reliable, quick to answer questions, and regularly gave me updates on exactly how it was going. Phone problems really ruin your week, but they made it much less painful. When it arrived it seemed to work fine but after a few days I noticed that it would randomly reset. I was preparing to travel so I needed the laptop fixed urgently. I called Lenovo and they said I could mail it to them or take it to an authorized service center. I chose the latter and they referred me to Ameritech. I dropped the laptop off at Ameritech. Lavina at the front desk was very helpful. A few days later I have the laptop back and it is working perfectly. If I need any more work done on this machine I will certainly use them.
