I'll start this review by saying I love this place. At first, I wondered if my love for it may have been influenced by the fact that I walked through the door and there at the register stood Charlie Hunnam. He was with a beautiful retriever. Of course, Charlie Hunnam is a dog lover! Okay... turns out it wasn't Charlie Hunnam but a guy who looks just like him who visits often. According to the ladies who work there, he is also really nice! Of course he is, because he is the Charlie Hunnam of Mandeville with his beautiful, sweet pup! I petted the pup because I thought I might be arrested if I touched the Charlie Hunnam of Mandeville. I admit I thought about it though. I know, it's wrong, but i would have asked first! Alright... now for the review! Charlie Hunnam of Mandeville left shortly after I arrived, so I can say I still loved this place. The ladies working there were so sweet! My mocha latte was delicious. My friend loved her coffee as well. We both got the avocado toast with goat cheese, sprouts, and truffle oil. They use their baguettes which are yummy! I want to go back and try a couple of their sandwiches because they looked great as well. They have some prepared in the cooler, so you can grab and go. I did get a couple of the most amazing, huge oatmeal raisin cookies for my boyfriend. And i grabbed myself some blue cheese and walnuts spread along with their sesame crackers! Soooo delicious! They were sold out of a couple of spreads I want to try. Most everything is made in-house! The few products that aren't appeared to be all local growers and artisans. I love that they support local! Several items are on my list for next visit! The place has this comfortable feel of being in your friend's house. Big, farmhouse tables with family style seating. Such a friendly and peaceful environment. I could have stayed for hours. I'd give an extra star for the clean, lovely bathroom! It smelled fabulous! The walls are wood so there was what I'd call a pine scent. I love a good bathroom! I think I have many reasons to go back for yummy coffee, baked goods, spreads, and sandwiches. If I happen to see the Charlie Hunnam of Mandeville, it'll be the cherry on top! I told my boyfriend about him and he had zero concern. I think I should be offended by the fact that my boyfriend thinks I have no chance with the Charlie Hunnam of Mandeville! Ha ha... You should check out Sweet Olive Bakery and Market! I just moved to the area and I am so happy to find them a week after arriving! I learned from the barista that they are a relatively new business, so go show them some love. You won't regret it!

This is such a cute place. I don't understand people's love for bead board, though. The feta and the pimento cheese were AMAZING. The panini I got was alright, but the pimento cheese I put on it saved the day. Even though the kitchen was closed, the girl working the counter was nice enough to warm up my panini. She was also generous and gave me a bag of ice to prevent my cheeses from spoiling! Thank you! I ended up here because I had a meeting around the corner, but I'm glad they were open on a Monday! A lot of places in the area were closed. Is Mandeville always this dead on weekdays? Is it a Monday thing? All in all, this place had amazing ambience and was delicious. I will definitely go back for some more whipped feta with pistachios!

Excellent! The staff was kind, welcoming and super friendly. The food was superb. Everything was fresh and delicious. I am so disappointed I didn't try Sweet Olive sooner. Come and try this place out! You won't be disappointed

What a sweet little bakery. I was browsing spots on the Google Maps, like you do, and noticed the good reviews. I only got a muffin and a scone, but they were reasonably priced and tasted delicious. There is no dedicated parking lot, so street parking it is, and there is a lot of it. I look forward to coming back, when I am in the area.

So excited to try this place and it didn't disappoint! Didn't take any pictures of the food but it was delicious. Got a BEAT sandwich and a Brie and Ham sandwich, both filling and tasted great! Will definitely be back to try their breakfast.

Not only do you get extremely fresh items, you're able to meet the farmer who raised the animals and grew the vegetables you're buying. In my opinion, this is the best farmers market within driving distance of New Orleans. Here are the reasons why: Proximity to farms - Many people may not know this, but the Northshore is home to many different types of farms. Because Covington is close to the farm, you will get the freshest possible items. Variety - Whether you eat meat, are a vegetarian, or even a pescetarian, there will be something for you at this market. I particularly like the farm fresh meats. On my last visit I spoke with a cattle farmer who was selling his wares. His offer of a processed half or full cow seemed highly desirable, but I had nowhere to store that much meat. I did buy some of his ground beef which was better than anything I have sampled before, including from fancy stores. There are also numerous vendors selling products they made locally. As Jennifer B. mentioned, the Italian cookie stand is a must visit. Besides amazing products, the guys who run the stand are very friendly and entertaining characters. If you have kids make sure you pick up one of their cookies in the shape of popular cartoon characters. Besides all the food, there are also several plant vendors each week. I don't know much about plants, but they had quite the variety. I am a big fan of this market, and think you will be too.

From the moment you walk into this space, what you are confronted with is tons of all kinds of great and unique everything. Much of it is not only sold by local artisans, but made by them, as well. French market is predominantly an open air location. What you will find here are small shops that each offer a very unique collection of items that are very specific to their own shop. The items that are sold here span the gambit from jewelry, to artworks, to ethnic pieces that represent the culture from where the shop owner comes from. There is really a lot of everything at the French Market. Meaning, this is a great place to get that really unique gift that you wanna get for that special someone or to find that unique piece of whatever that you will personally use. As there are numerous shops here, each business provides a unique buying experience. Each one represents what they offer, and do it from their own perspective. From this, you'll find some shop merchants that are super friendly, very cordial, and more than willing to make deals with you. Others, not so much. But, that's what makes this location truly interesting. All the personalities that make up this shopping establishment. More than simply a place to shop for gifts, artworks, souvenirs, and the like, French Market also offers some great food stalls. So, if you need a snack, drink, or even a full meal, you can find it here. As this is open air, in the summer, it can get kinda hot inside this establishment. This is not bad or good, this is just something to keep in mind. This is the same during the winter months. You can't get kind of cold in there. But, at least from my perspective, that's a little bit easier to deal with. You just have to wear a jacket. Overall, this is one of the main stays of NOLA. It's truly a must see location. And, for people who know the city well, this is a place to go to when you want to find that truly unique item. Truly, you never know what you'll find.
