I came across this candy shop while walking through the South Shore Plaza in Braintree. The store is a decent size and is clean and well kept up. I was there during the early evening hours and there were a few customers in the store but it was not overly busy. There is an excellent assortment of candy there. Candy bars including some hard to find candy bars. Also a variety of candies that you can either buy by the pound or buy some of the pre-filled boxes of the same candies. I got a couple of Zero Bars and I made up a small bag of Mary Jane candies for myself. The cashiers at the checkout area were friendly and professional. I will definitely shop there again. read more

They responded to my Instagram message by arguing with me and saying that they do sell "reps" because some people don't want to pay the full price for an authentic product. But these "reps" are unmarked and customers are responsible for asking whether the product is real or not. Which is shady. I cited an incident where a customer came into the store to return a moldy drink while I was shopping and they didn't acknowledge that at all. So, do with that what you will. read more

I went into this store with my younger sister because we had been looking for Sonny Angels Hippers all around the mall. When we walked into this store, we found the table in the back, we noticed the sign that said "you open you pay," so we just kept browsing the sonny angels and deciding which ones to get. Then a lady (the same one other reviewers have also mentioned) came up to us and started yelling in our faces about the sign claiming that she had seen us open them. I explained that we were only looking and had no intention of opening anything, but she just stood there staring and lingering around us as if we were going to. It made me and my younger sister feel extremely uncomfortable and definitely not welcome to shop. If you're looking for a nice, welcoming shopping experience, I would not recommend this store. read more

Stopped in while shopping at the mall for birthday gifts, thinking I could pick up a couple pieces of candy for myself and as part of a present. I should have taken the fact that there were no prices on anything as a red flag, but I soon realized why there were no prices when I brought my items to the counter. THE PRICES ARE RIPOFF LEVEL INSANE. I had a bag of a Chex mix type snack- $30! And a share size bag of candy- $17! The same items cost a third of the price anywhere else. Oh, and the kid working the counter seemed annoyed and surprised that I thought those prices were ridiculous. He went back to scrolling on TikTok while I left in disgust. This store obviously preys on parents who don't want to have to tell their kid that they can't have the candy they picked out when the parents find out the price! Or kids spending their allowance that don't know better. I'm seriously surprised they are still in business, but time is most likely running out for these thieves. You can't stay in business when you have no customers, and you won't have customers with these prices and this type of aloof service. The ambiance of the store is nice- but in actuality it's just a (borderline criminal) trap for children like the witches house in Handel and Gretel! Don't get cooked and eaten, stay away! read more

Many times I came to their new location, most of the candy is stale and hard... and I never see a receipt that clearly states the prices? For a place that sells sweets it sure feels bitter in there. The shop lifting pictures sure take away from the cuteness of the cold creepy store read more

I was walking around with my friends and and the whole time we were there the ladies at the register were glaring at us and giving dirty looks and were clearly thinking that we were stealing, also they were talking about us. The food is way over priced actually not just the food everything was overpriced. When one of my friends couldn't pay for what she wanted they shook their heads and started talking about her then my other friend had to pay in half's and the lady was again talking about her and gave her a lecture on how she needs to pay with only card next time or just cash cause it's too much work for her. I don't recommend coming here but then again everyone's experience is different. read more

I've never been treated so rudely. Took some pictures (no sign saying not to) so my pregnant friend over text could pick out some candy as a gift to her. One of the employees (a man) rushed up behind me and nearly yelled at me that I can't take pictures there, was visibly pissed. No asking what I was doing, or approaching me calmly, just immediately assuming I was somehow going to steal via photos of some pocky?... I bought some items, especially because I was embarrassed and didn't want them to think I was trying to steal. But I shouldn't have, none of the prices are marked, no receipt offered, which seemed very purposeful. 32 dollars for two boxes of pocky, 1 2.19 oz pack of gummies, another 3.6 oz pack of gummies? Very aggressive and rude people, they should not own/work in this store. read more

Very rude staff. We visited the store on friday in the evening, Sept 17. 2021. I took my 8 years old daughter here to buy her favorite pop it toy. As we walking around the store, she was watching us and it make me feel very uncomfortable. I, however, trying to ignore and asked my daughter to choose the toy. My daughter was looking at some fidget toy in the tray close to the register where the staff was standing. My guess that the toys in the tray was not meant to be displayed for sale. The staff was very upset raised her voice to an 8 years old kid. "Please do not touch that, it is for storage" I told her that was very rude to talk to the kid like that, we put the toy back and end up buying the toy at another store. This is actually not the first time we feel uncomfortable with her. There are other time she also watching us. Before this incident, we have been spending money from this store few time. This will be the last time we visit this store. read more

Today I went with my friend and while we were looking at the candies there were mold and roaches in the buckets of candy! Also, when we were looking the cashier accused us of stealing when we were just looking they were only looking at us because we were people of color and also said "all you people do is steal" I do not recommend coming to this place or bringing kids here because they have a problem with letting kids be excited and looking at candy without causing a scene. read more

Very rude staff. Won't be going in again. Went in there with my two kids 3 and 5, both well behaved. Let them pick out a candy each as we had all had a very hard day. Staff was talking on the phone loudly the entire time and staring at us. Chill lady, I'm not going to steal a $1 lollipop. We made our way through the store and then I decided I wanted some chocolate for myself too, so we went back to the front and she seriously CHASED us thinking we were going to leave the store with two pieces of candy. I smiled at her and said "I wasn't leaving, I'm shopping still." but she remained rude and ignored me the entire time we cashed out. The owners are some of the nicest people and so down to earth! I come in every week with my three and five year olds to get candy as a treat and they get so excited everytime we go! It's such a great candy store! I've had some really great conversations with the owner and she's so hardworking and it's a small family run business! They have such a big candy selection and much of their selection is candy that you wouldn't normally find at a store which is even better! I came in yesterday to do some holiday candy stocking stuff for shopping and I got everything I needed in the selection was great! The owner rang us up nicely and always treats us so well! It's a great place to bring your kids as a treat! Support sweet palace, they are a small business and I definitely recommend them if you want to buy candy especially for stocking stuffers! read more
