What an adorable chocolate shop that is a great addition to Quincy Center. The staff is friendly & chocolate is delicious. They even embrace local history with Abigail Adams cookies. The weekend before Easter they offered free photos with the Easter Bunny - which my 1 year old daughter just adored! Edit: been back twice since the Easter Bunny visit - the P2C2 bar is delicious One warning though, the store is not accessible. I think the sidewalk and the building aren't level with each other, so there's a slat of wood in the bottom of the door frame that makes a tripping hazard and was hard to get my stroller over. read more

I tried the confectioners claim to fame, the P2C2. Although I think many restaurants, bakeries, and candy stores mess up the balance between sweet and savory, they do a good job with this chocolate. I bought some oreo bark for a relative and I received positive reviews. The service inside the establishment is friendly and they'll always give you free samples. Admittedly, the prices here are fairly steep, but it's worth it for a treat or gift for a loved one. read more

Packaged similarly in chocolate brown, similar to the packaging of Louis Vuitton, the chocolate here IS like the Louis V of chocolates. Especially for here in the States, it's difficult to find a chocolate that tastes as heavenly as it looks. This is the place to go to or order from (if you're not in the area) if the best chocolate money can buy is what you're craving, only you either don't have a Louis V budget, or don't believe you need to spend so much to have the best chocolate available. FWIW, packaging is a win; contents of the package (in other words, what you devour), a huge win; friendly, helpful staff, win win! Service is outstanding as is the packaging and the chocolate. Staff will let you try before you buy and are fantastic at suggesting new mixtures you probably never tried. For those that aren't as keen as having unusual ingredients like lavender in their delectibles; there's their version of a turtle (not called a turtle, but I forget the actual name) that will bring you back for more and to never again visit the haunts of the original. Along with having the most unbelievably delicious chocolate in the world, this business is run by absolute angels. A dying family member's favorite treat in the world is the P2C2 in white chocolate, and the shop owners were kind enough to allow me to special order them even with covid making the ordering process (and I'm sure the treat making process) very different. It's been such a relief to see my uncle able to enjoy eating something. I stopped by here for the first time the other day to pick up something for my mom's birthday. They have all kinds of truffles from ordinary - espresso, hazelnut, - to unusual - rose (I had one, and it really tasted like roses, maybe to odd for me), green tea, and lavender. They also have a selection of wine truffles, solid chocolates, truffle bars, drinking chocolate (teh bar or you can get a hot cup)...all yummy and ready to devour. I also purchased some chocolate cover potato sticks that looks a bit like fudge filled with sticks. I didn't try it but I am awaiting on a report from my mother. i also got a free sample of their frosted brownie which was incredibly good. Not too sweet, and that's a nice change as some shops kill you with sugar. They also hand dip fruit and can get you any fruit you request. If it's out of season, call ahead so they can get the produce you want. Stop in anytime you need a sweet gift or you want to treat yourself. Very helpful staff, nice selection and she thanked me for my business. Parking is a little tough - right on the corner across from the Dunkin Donuts on Franklin - but you can usually find something on one side or the other. read more

I got together with family for the 1st holiday in a year and a half as we had all gotten our vaccinations and were really looking forward to spending rhe holiday together. I don't typically get candy for anyone but after such a hard year, I wanted to get candy for a lot of family and extended family as a little gesture. I was running late and called the shop to confirm their hours the day before Easter. The ladies who own the shop - 2 sisters - are such good people! I called and asked about their hrs and said I was running late and probably wouldn't make it as the shop was closing in 30 mins and I was coming from my hair salon in Hanover. They told me they would let me come in a little late! They were so sweet..! I ended up getting nearly $200 in chocolates (small $25 sampler boxes of Belgian chocolates) and my picky friends and family said 1) it was hands down the best tasting chocolate they had ever had and 2) the chocolates and boxes were the prettiest they had ever seen (the box was turquoise and they wrapped it in a beautiful lilac bow). I told them how incredibly nice the family is that owns the shop and how appreciative they were for my large order as it was a hard year for businesses (my friends and family will be placing their own orders soon according to them!) It was such a win-win situation- giving business to lovely people with a superior product and the JOY it brought friends and family to receive a little thought this year. I will only go here in the future for host presents and gifts. Admittedly, I got a few chocolates for myself and they were soo tasty! I could have polished off a 5 lb box so I am grateful I only got a few of their popular best sellers. Tip: try the one with the chili pepper in it Be forewarned as addictive!! read more

I've lived around the area for almost 3 years and I knew nothing really about this place. I suspected it was a chocolate place, but for all I knew it could've been a poetry studio. The woman at the counter told me they've been profiled on the Food Network and that they've gotten all this great press and then she gave me a free sample of the top selling candy. I'm hooked. PureFections might be the best chocolate place in Quincy...actually the Eastern seaboard. I know everyone gets Sea's Candy around the holidays, but I didn't know that this excellent quality of chocolate was within a short walk of my house. The chocolate turtles are amazing and I don't even really care for them. The espresso truffle candy was delicious enough to become my favorite at this place. I spent $12 quick dollars here on my first visit and I will recommend this place to anyone and everyone who likes chocolate. I have had Purefections chocolate shipped to me twice, and the second time I almost exploded from happiness. Everything is excellent, but the P2C2 is worth selling your small children and pets for. I've never been to the shop, but the shipping has been great. Wouldn't know it from the outside, but this place is an absolute gem! The owner is kind and welcoming. She treated us to a sample of their famous P2C2, which was impressively delicious. We ended up buying a couple treats to bring home, and I have to tell you that their caramel is ON POINT! Soft and flavorful, with the perfect amount of salt... I absolutely love it! Not only do their chocolates taste great, but they are beautiful as well. We visited Belgium last summer and PureFection chocolates are on par with some of the best chocolatiers in Europe. The owner told me they do wedding, shower, and corporate favors... so I will definitely be keeping them in mind for those and other gift ideas! P2C2 is heavenly. Definitely like an amped up Crunch bar...with peanut butter and caramel...and potato chips instead of crunchy rice krispy bits. The chocolate is serious quality. The turtles are out of this world delicious. Huge and salty/sweet awesomeness. I also tried to salted caramel bon bons (one dark and one milk). They were tasty - loved the salt, but the caramel was grainy not silky and chewy. It was almost as if they didn't cook the sugar to the right stage. Still tasty, but wouldn't spend $2.50 per on them again. The shop itself is pretty tiny. It's clear that they do a lot of mail order (as seen by the piles upon piles of shipping boxes behind the counter). The display cases of chocolate are eye catching and clean. There are a few huge jars of specialty candy as well - most notably a green apple licorice that looked mighty tasty. The service was super friendly and wonderful. The air conditioning on the hot summer day was just blowing around that delightful chocolatey smell. It was like Willy Wonka's up in thurrr. read more

I live literally less than a block from there, so it's not an issue but it's on a very busy main drag- you might have to park a bit further up (or down, depending) on Franklin. i found pure chocolate on phantom gourmet and had to stop there. the staff is amazing, the chocolate is divine and parking is very easy. the cases are always full when i stop in, free samples are offered, it really couldn't get any better. the p2c2 is unbelievable, it's chocolate potato chips carmel and peanut butter, she is a genius for thinking it up! my boyfriend is in love with the chocolate covered brownie, it's chocolate overload! other people have said they have had a hard time parking, i've always pulled right up front. the girls are very accomodating, they always help me pick out the perfect gift. i would recomend pure chocolate to anyone! read more

I've given confections from this store as presents to family, friends, and coworkers - always impressive in terms of presentation and taste. Price: Well, it's excellent hand made gourmet chocolate. I tried to stop in here on a Saturday afternoon during the holiday season, and they were closed. I was really disappointed. But then, while searching for Christmas stocking stuffer ideas for the mister, I decided to peruse their website and see what I could find to order via mail. And then I found them: Lager Tartarugas. He's big into beer, and he enjoys dark chocolate, so I thought these Sam Adams-infused turtles seemed like the perfect gift for him. They weren't cheap - about $25 after shipping for six of them - but they sure were delicious. He couldn't stop raving about them, and I savored the few bites he allowed me. We will definitely be stopping at Pure to see what else they have to offer; I'll just make sure to check the hours first to make sure they're open. read more
