Caring Haven was an absolute godsend recently when my 100 year-old mother's full-time caregiver…read morecame down with Covid and went home to isolate and recover. I was panicking because I had no one to take her place. I had contacted several agencies in the past but I remembered Nikki Lopez at Caring Haven as being the most compassionate and sincere. I called her hoping she could send a temporary last minute replacement but all of her people were booked so she offered to personally fill in until my mother's caregiver returned. She arrived at my mother's aware of her exposure to Covid and knowing she would be sleeping in my mother's room. Nikki's own family gave their blessing because they knew my mother needed help. The day Nikki got there, my mother had to go to ER for dehydration and while there, she tested positive for Covid. The hospital sent her home because she had no fever or cough but two days later, she was admitted into the hospital for symptoms of Covid, dehydration and pneumonia. Nikki was prepared to, and wanted stay in the hospital room with my mother but Covid hospital regulations would not allow it. She visited my mother twice a day until the regular caregiver was able to return to work. Nikki continued to follow up on my mother after my mother returned home and still checks up on her regularly. Because of this, I am hiring one of Nikki's caregivers when my mother's regular caregiver retires in March. I am so impressed by Nikki and the level of care at Caring Haven, I would never go anywhere else again!

She also committed to overseeing mom's care from the admin side, to ensure no further mixups occur. Since that time, caregiver schedules have been set timely, with good communication so that all involved are informed of the schedules, or changes in schedules. Again, the caregivers themselves have been wonderful, and now that we're on the same page with scheduling I think things will work out well with HomeLife Senior Care.

Since it was last minute we had a few gaps in the schedule but they kept me informed at all times when they were trying to find people. Since it was such a last minute need, I totally understood the staffing issues and was okay with it. I know I'm lucky in the sense that I was able to fill in as needed. We didn't need them for long sadly but over the next 4 days they made sure she was okay and took care of her as needed. Much like the Hospice nurses, each care nurse was perfect for the scenarios of their shift. We would totally recommend them.
