Then the errors on the company side are them sending people that are not qualified for the job and do not even meet the expectations of the contract you signed for. Those are managerial issues, not the faults of the caregivers. Problem is, the turn overs, companies do not see these caregivers for long. This is not a career but an entry level job for most of them. This is an industry problem though. And if you are paying for a service rather than hiring your own, you are paying for their payroll, staffing, bonding and insurance.

They offered to provide a full no-commitment assessment, and I accepted. The next day, Mr. Keith Beck, Executive Director, came to my home and evaluated Mom's situation and needs. Mr. Beck was on-time, professional, organized and efficient. Following the assessment, we were introduced to a recommended caregiver who, assuming my approval, would be responsible for Mom. She was professional, very conversational with Mom and an experienced caregiver. By the end of the appointments, I was confident that Mom would have good, comforting care while I was gone. I was extremely impressed that Visiting Angels responded so quickly, and was also able to provide and dedicate quality staff in a timely manner. I continued the caregiving services on a part-time basis after I returned home as Mom was still not quite stable. Another caregiver was introduced and assigned. After a couple of weeks of continued part-time care, Mom became much better and I was comfortable with stopping the services. I highly recommend Visiting Angels of Livermore. All of my experiences (and my Mom's) were positive. It is a very well managed business with a reliable, kind, and supportive team: owner, office staff, and caregivers. Thanks to Visiting Angels I was able to enjoy my vacation. I will definitely use them again when and if the need arises. My super Dad, who will be 90 soon, is the main reason she's still around and healthy. But he just survived a mild stroke and physically, he's not as strong as my Mom. As their children, we spent a lot of time helping them but with dementia, it's a very difficult and emotionally exhausting ordeal to handle. We were beyond lucky to have found J&M Home care service; especially Susan. Susan is a super bright lady who has a deep sense of compassion, empathy, patience and the knowledge of the disease. Within a couple months under Susan's care, both my parents' health have improved significantly. My Mom seems so much happier and those moments of her feeling frustrated and feared have reduced significantly. With My Mom's health improving, it has helped my Dad and the rest of us feeling so much lighter and happier. What special about Susan is that, even though my Mom speaks mainly Vietnamese and Susan speaks English, the love, care, understanding and compassion Susan has for my Mom overcomes any language barrier. That advice was 99% true. The 1% where it wasn't true was J&M Homecare Services. Constance was truly empathetic to our Friday night plight, and came over early on Saturday morning to assess our needs. She was caring and compassionate and really wanted to help us. She guided me through the process and the forms. They clearly have experience working with Long Term Care insurance companies and have an easy to follow process to help you get reimbursed. She immediately reached out to her scheduling team and I received a call that afternoon trying to schedule someone for the very next day. By then we were scrambling and had found help through a family friend, but still needed someone for Monday. On Sunday their scheduling expert had found someone for Monday. They worked during the weekend to try and fulfill our needs and the four other companies we tried calling on Friday all said they'd talk to us on Monday. Monday came and our provider was great. My mother was in the final stages of the dying process and our aide helped us clean, bathe and dress her without a second thought. My mother passed peacefully soon after. Watching a loved one pass on in front of you is a very emotionally trying experience, but having last minute help made an unbearable situation feel slightly less horrible. I had only one short experience with the person who came to care for my loved one, but the effort the company put forth fulfilling our needs at the last minute on the weekend feels like an industry exception. My mother lived in the independent/assisted living wing at Atria WC for almost a year. She was…read morecontent. One of the reasons we chose it was because she really wanted an outdoor space, and enjoyed many flowers on her balcony as well as visiting birds. The care, cleaning and dining staff was very friendly and helpful to her. However, when I requested that the nurse reevaluate her because she was beginning to need more assistance, she told me she'd visit my mom the next day but she never did. That was 2 months ago, (and my mom passed 1 month ago.) In general the reception and administration staff seemed very unorganized and unreliable. One of the main reasons we moved my mom to Atria was for them to check on her if she didn't show up for meals. They did sometimes but it seemed very casual. On Mother's Day, when mom hadn't responded to any of her many texts, I called for a well check at 1PM. It was too late. My mom had passed away sometime in the previous 24 hours. How do I know? State of her body. No activity on her cell phone for over a day. And with investigation we found out she had not been checked on by Atria staffe since lunch Saturday, despite having not eaten the next three meals. Hopefully my mom passed peacefully in her sleep and didn't suffer as that's what she wanted. We will never know for sure and we are very saddened about about this. We hope other families don't experience the extra grief of learning their loved one has been ignored that long. We have been told staff has had retraining on the check in procedure. I hope so! PS I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because like I said my mom was content and she loved the staff she interacted with. The extra star is for my sweet mom.

Bed bugs! Not even a one star.... My loved one experienced bed bugs at this facility and for TWO…read moremonths the executive director blew off my concerns and finally had someone come to check it out. So strange that on the report they also claimed there were no bed bugs and I have pictures to prove it. My loved one lost ALL her belongings and I got her far away from this facility. Stay away, look elsewhere and do your research.
