Cute little (LITTLE) shop located in Brooklyn, CT. Lots of premade entrees, soups, specialty items, fresh pies, unpasteurized milks, breads, made to order sandwiches, dog treats-you name it. On this visit just grabbed bread, chicken salad and dog treats. Also had sauces and Venda ravioli and Who Cut the Cheesecake-both from RI. Will go back and try other prepared items on my next visit. read more

We pick up a meal from Sweet Peas once every two weeks or so. It's better than fast food but it's a bit expensive. If you have a sweet tooth they have pies and desserts. read more

Needed a place for lunch but the fast food drive in was packed so stopped at this establishment. Walked in and was blown away by their amazing selection of foods, everything from salads to dessert. Evan have vegan items available as well. Didn't have a lot of time so didn't make the best selection by choosing a raspberry Bismarck but I'm sure glad I did! The pastry was light and fluffy with a sprinkling of powdered sugar on top. And this was a very large Bismarck. The marshmallow cream in the middle surrounded a very healthy portion of raspberry jelly. The cream was smooth and not overly sweet as was the raspberry jelly. This was so large that I had to take the top off and eat that first and then enjoy the rest which was wonderful. Looking at their menu they have plenty to offer for anyone so there will be return trips to sample other items on their menu. If your in town I highly recommend a visit to check this place out. read more

Stopped in for a bite tonight and I was so excited to see all of the great options they have available. I tried a sandwich, soda, and a dessert. Everything was very good and I will definitely come back to try some of the pre-made foods as well. They do not have a bathroom and they don't offer recycling so plan accordingly. There are a few small tables outside and a couple of large picnic tables so plenty of space when the weather is nice. read more

I gave it the star rating I did because I've been wanting to try this place but they have not steady hours they claim to but every time I go there during those times they're closed or they're out of a lot of things so I guess if you want their stuff for lunch or dinner you need to get there around breakfast time if they're open yet because a lot of times they open later than they say they're going to there's also one in Norwich and that one's even worse where it's like I was pretty I lived right by and I thought it was abandoned because that's how little they were open but for this one they I guess are open occasionally cuz some people have said they've ate there but I can never seem to get there no matter morning afternoon or night. read more

A gem of a little spot for fresh wonderful homemade food, miss the salad bar but they have pre-made salads since Covid which are great. You can get delicious food made while you wait and they've got tables outside to eat at. The vibe is totally farm style and you'll love to just check the beams out while you shop. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this cute country store. It's definitely a hidden gem with great food. The lobster rolls are solid and you get a decent amount of lobster. I've gotten the chicken pesto and not so Philly sandwiches, both delicious. The only thing to note is that they half an hour to an hour before closing, they only do cold sandwiches. This place is a hidden gem in Brooklyn Connecticut. It's like a bakery and takeout sandwich shop that also has premium pre made comfort dinners ready to go. The locals love this place. So many good things here, like the chicken salad, corn chowder, garlic Parmesan dip, raspberry cake, cheese cakes and many more things. The prices might be higher then other places in this area but the quality is much higher also. Worth the money. read more

Stumbled upon this place and gave it a try on a whim. So glad we did! I had a panini, which was absolutely delicious. Others in my group had a tuna sandwich, baked ziti and salmon piccata. All were amazing- no complaints. We went back in for some dessert (if you see their desserts, you can't help but try some) and tried 3 different treats. Some of the best done cheesecake I have ever had. We will likely go back to this place even though it is an hour away. It was that good! read more

Sweet peas used to be one of our go to places to grab some treats. We came in on Saturday 2/5 and had a very unpleasant experience. The young lady who cashed us out was extremely rude. We were patiently waiting for her to get us some desserts out of the case, did not even ask for her help because she had a line and we were letting her tend to other customers. She finally finishes and comes to help us but she had such a major attitude. We greeted her with a kind "hi how's it going today." She looked at us and didn't even respond, just waited for us to order. Myself, my mother, and three ladies behind us were stunned with how rude she was. She got our desserts and very messily plopped them in containers. Not to mention each dessert was $4.00 a piece and tasted very old. They were sweating in the case too which was pretty off putting. They have a great salad bar that is always stocked with good stuff and the have meals you can take away (i stop here and grab a lunch in the AM if i didnt have time to make one!) amd they also have vegan desserts!! They also have a big selection of gluten-free foods, like cookies and flour and some specialty italian food and some health food store items like bee pollen. This is a cool little shop! A little something for everyone. They have an interesting Meals-to-Go business model because they make weekly specials, and provide a menu for the upcoming month. UH WHAT? Thats awesome. They are making fresh food for you, but you know what to expect coming in and you can just come in when they are cooking what you want! The food that they make is seasonally appropriate too. Stumbled upon this place on a summer weekend trip from Boston to the country. Everything I tried was phenomenal. I stumbled upon this place while I was at Danielson Superior Court for work. I was immediately drawn in by the Farmer's market sign and the quaint look of the building. I ventured in for a sandwich and chips. As soon as I walked in they had a sampler of Vermont cheese; I was hooked. By the time I got to the register I had two locally made marinades, a block of that Vermont cheese, soupi (which I was shocked to see outside of Westerly) and Ethiopian coffee. When I went to pay I realized I never got my sandwich. The place has so much to offer and the staff are friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back next time I'm up that way. read more

Located in the same little plaza as Baker's Dozen, Sweet Peas is an organic foods market and bakery. They also sell all different kinds imported specialty foods, as well as gourmet prepared foods, take home and reheat style. My friend and I bought a few of their pastry desserts. Found this adorable farm stand/corner store when I moved into the area and I'm glad I did! So many awesome condiments, jams, jellies, hot sauces and all sorts of delicious pies and the lobster rolls in the summer are great! Convenient place to go for a quick snack or when you need to bring something home for dinner AND dessert. I bought prepared food which was the american chop suey. I bought 2 orders of it. I ate the american chop suey on Saturday and was sick for 3 days afterwards. My husband ate the other order of it on Sunday and cannot get out of bed. I had gentlemen show up at my home to start on the installation of a chain link fence and they witnessed my husband vomiting all over the place. I firmly believe we have food poisoning. I have already tried contacting the store at 8 am , no answer. I will call Sweet Peas back. We have never been so sick in my entire life, my physician is in agreement with us. My husband I have been with each other for over 32 years and he has never vomited and he cannot move. I also lost a second day from work because my stomach is still too upset. I would not recommend this place at all. read more
