Always a pleasure. I mostly remember to review when I come for cocktails but I love everything. Brought my parents for cocktails and an appetizer before dinner elsewhere. The whipped feta was so much better than I was ready for with fried pita and apple, the flavors played so well together that we were all scraping the plate for a last bite. The Fall 2025 Cocktail list is full of delightful options. Between my mother and I, we tried four of the eight cocktails on the list. Sage Advice is an absolute yes for me, it's light and flavorful. I'm also a sucker for the fluff provided by the egg white, plus who doesn't love a little added protein! The Pumpkin Pie Martini is a great seasonal compliment as the stand in espresso martini. Mom's Bourbon Cider was delicious, served hot it provides a warm hug in drink format. The campfire came next and wow! Strong and delicious, the freshly roasted marshmallow garnish is a win for sure. read more

Avacado toast is on point! I get just a drip coffee. Asked for a half caff which they made as an americano. Pretty sure they forgot the caffeine part but the taste was better than their regular drip coffee. Also like the taste of the monkey dog but could use a little more protein. Ambiance is decent for eating but a bit noisy and wide open for studying. read more

What a wonderful cafe to have some snack and some caffeine. The door and sign is kinda small and you might miss it. But you should able to see people drinking coffee by the big window. Affordable price and exceptional service. Drinks are served in proper drinkware which is glass or ceramic cup and they bring your order to your table, unlike many cafe where they place everybody orders on the counter. Great cup of coffee. I want to preface this with, read my other reviews I always review generously and tend to go with the benefit of the doubt, this is just simply my honest review. I am a biscuits & gravy guy, get it everywhere, this was without a doubt the worst batch I've ever had. Giant chunks of onion, and tons of it in the gravy through the dish. Not one mention of it on the menu, and when I approached the waitress about it the kitchen just did that is how they make it. I've never had B&Gs with a ton of onion outside of green onion, and was kind of shocked I was the one confused by this. The side of bacon was barely cooked, not crunchy at all and very small. Mimosas were good, my wife's Benedict was okay, but we waited for 30 minutes on the food and what I got was incredibly unsatisfactory. If you're going to make an onion gravy for the biscuits and gravy, your description can't just be "house-made buttermilk biscuit, pork sausage gravy". read more

I had been wanting to try The Lobby by Greyhouse, as I use to visit their original location on Purdue's campus. When you walk in the atmosphere is cute, which is no surprise. Greyhouse does a great job. It was pretty full, but we were able to find a seat in the bar area, as it's a seat yourself style. You can order at the counter, or you can use the QR code on the table. We decided to order with the QR code. I ordered the Pistachio latte and the veggie breakfast biscuit and I added bacon. Service, there really isn't any. Nobody brings water to tables or checks in with you as the QR code is their workhorse for table service. The front of the house was welcoming at the counter when you walked in. The servers delivering food were not friendly. The latte was delicious, and Greyhouse makes 10/10 lattes. However, I was highly disappointed in the presentation. The latte looked like a mess, and was a 0/10 on presentation which was surprising for a restaurant that is a spin off on a coffee shop. The food was average. The biscuit had a lot of flour on the bottom and the avocado was not appealing as it was very brown. The bacon was cooked perfectly, and I liked the other elements of the dish. read more

Stopped in for a quick coffee and snack. I was surprised again. I really enjoy the lobby. Everything is calming and relaxing and not stuffy. It's a great place to stop and grab a coffee or just come in for a quick bite. Our waitress was Erica, and oh my goodness, was she the best. She was super nice, very knowledgeable, and I just adored her. I got my norm the creme brulee latte hot . My husband got the greyhause cap, and both were excellent. We also got a chocolate chip cookie. It took me back to my childhood. I will be back soon again. Thanks for such amazing service. We need more Erica's, that's for sure. read more

Positive: Staff was friendly. Negative: simple drip black coffee took almost 10 minutes and it wasn't even busy. Unlike most coffee shops, apparently the person taking the order can't take a few seconds to pour a cup of drip themselves, they just create a ticket to put in the queue along with the fancy drinks. The coffee itself was not even close to hot, calling it lukewarm would be generous. Didn't have another 10 minutes to complain and wait for a redo, so went down the block to get coffee, there are several much better options in the same area. read more

It begins and ends with coffee. Stumbled in here during a farmers market- ordered a regular brewed coffee- 1966 blend- it was without question the best coffee I have ever had. It was complex, with a deep roasted flavor without a trace of bitterness. I also sampled the veggie breakfast sammy that my wife ordered; it was unique on a sweet potato biscuit that reminded me of cornbread. The egg, cheese and spinach were a perfect combo in this knife-and-fork dish. I was not a fan of the tomato jam (think sweet salsa) but the wife enjoyed it. Not for me. I had heard good things about this place so was disappointed with my experience. First, the food. I ordered biscuits and gravy with an over easy egg on top. The egg was still partially raw. There was very little gravy put on the biscuits so I was just eating dry biscuits most of the time. My friend ordered a sandwich. The person who brought the food dropped half the sandwich on the table, sauce side down and didn't offer a replacement. We didn't know if the table was clean so she didn't eat it. Service. There really isn't any service. You pull up the menu from a QR code at your table and order through your phone. The only "service" you get is someone putting your food on the table. There is no one to refill drinks or ask if everything is ok. You serve yourself water from a water bottle filler in the wall. Cost. The price point is high considering the quality of the food and the fact that you aren't getting any service. My biscuits and gravy with an egg came to $12. There are too many other great breakfast options in town where I can get better food in a larger portion and service for $12. read more

Huh...quite the dichotomy of an establishment. Often we sit at the "bar" for convenience. At 8:00 am in the morning, the waitress carded us because we sat at the bar. We didn't, nor planned on drinking alcohol...we are in our 40/50s. And then, we were told our Starbucks coffees had to be thrown away...not allowed outside drinks. And this was all in the 1st minute of sitting down. That said, once manager took over the situation...all was fantastic. Lovely rendition of Avocado Toast & Biscuits with Mushroom Gravy. Fresh squeezed Orange Juice and artisan crafted coffees as well. Yum!!! OMG! The mushroom gravy biscuit was best ever had anywhere...and we (partially) live in the South. Order it! And last but not least, a make-your-own biscuit with sausage, egg, white cheddar, and a tomato onion jam...Yum!! The tomato Jan is fantastic, and the egg was cooked perfectly. The drinks here are exactly the same as in the other Greyhouse locations but no seasonal drink offerings here. I have yet to try the food here but I was a little disappointed that there was nothing unique in terms of the coffee offerings here. The atmosphere here is wonderful! They do hv a bar section, but you don't need to be 21+ to dine in. The pistachio gelato wasn't there and the coffee was more of a fruity side(acidity). But the frozen hot cocoa was perfect and the sweet matcha was sweet(lol). You can't adjust the sweetness of matcha :( Was too sweet for me tbh, but if you like sugar I highly recommend! read more

Certainly the classiest place I've ever pregamed before a Purdue football game. We came here looking for good food in a non-rowdy atmosphere before the Purdue Homecoming football game and The Lobby didn't disappoint. The avocado toast and the espresso martini were both terrific. The GM was serving us and she made a point of telling us that she got all the glassware from thrift shops around the region. Very cool! Service at the bar on a Saturday morning was friendly and fabulous without being overbearing. This would be a great place for a casual, laid back breakfast, particularly on a weekend. Very cute shop! Walked right up to order and the young ladies working were able to assist me with my order and questions. I got the masala chai and it was great. I compare all my chai and this one is good but I wouldn't order it again. You get a number and sit wherever you'd like and they bring out your coffee and whatever else you ordered. They also had parties such as croissants, so I got one and they cut it half and toasted it for me. The young lady also informed me that they can add toppings, but I passed. A good croissant doesn't need anything. I was able to refill my water bottle at the water station, which is near the entrance in the second room. My friend had bottomless coffee and at 10:30 am she asked for a refill and it took a while but they were busy and quite nice about it when they finally got to her. They do have a full service bar, which I shall check out on a later day. It's a nice set up and they have plenty of seating and outlets, which is always important. read more

Insanely overpriced, price gouging at its finest, entirely too easy to spend ten dollars on a basic frappe drink here; this sort of nonsense is corporate trash at full morally dead ideals. I also noticed that a large latte does not give you the additional shot of espresso like in any other normal coffee shop. They only give you more milk! Not to mention their alternative dairy options are hilariously pricey, could almost be forgiven the big city costs if this was an exclusive club with atmosphere to match, executively trained staff, and a loyalty program that worked with those frequently here. However, there is no rewards program. Inside is a basic, simple, easy to enjoy set up but nothing fancy to match the menu numbers. It's the same with the food. The basic breakfast is easily chipping into fifteen dollars with a tip and tax. I cannot believe people who ignore all the other move value and customer tuned options like Sacred Grounds, Eleventh House, Star City, and Indie Coffee and rather spend way more for arguably less. There's no seasonal menu. The coffee roast is crafted here but very bitter forward and fails to pair well with any of their syrups. I personally enjoy the much better selection and value at Sacred Grounds, more delightful value of Eleventh House, and tasty original options at Indie. Maybe someday The Lobby and Greyhouse will match their obnoxious prices but it isn't now. read more

Ever been somewhere and had a double déjà vu? Just sitting at the bar, I remembered I'd been here before. Once, when it was Folie and and years before when it was Kokoro. As the memories came flooding back, I ordered a French 75, charcuterie, chocolate cake, and a crème brûlée latte. Everything was perfect and the service was top class. Their hours are ambitious: 7 AM to 10 PM. We were there around 7 pm and almost all their seats were taken. That's a good sign! Anyway, get the chocolate cake. It's a cookie crumb base with a thick layer of ganache followed by a layer of some sort of chocolate cream, and then cake and then a simple frosting (possibly chocolate syrup). As restaurants come and go in this area, I think this one has staying power. Enjoy! read more

I was always a fan of grey house from campus when I was a Purdue student. So, I visited the lobby since it was close to my office. However, while I was ordering a few hot drinks to sit and eat my small lunchbox provided from my office, I was instantly told, "you can't eat this here." That bossy lady seems the owner or manager.
