Ice cream and chocolate stuffed with swirl + condensed milk on top
    Jessica T.

I cannot believe I've only recently discovered Shake Shack. Apparently, I've been missing out! I accidentally found this place near our new subdivision. Major bonus points to them for being open 7 days a week until 7 PM (unless it's storming). It's hard to find a snowball stand open on a Sunday! It's also hard to find a snowball stand with as many offerings as Sweet Shack. I love that they have chocolate, vanilla and swirl soft serve because I always stuff my snowballs with the swirl combination when it's available! This is also one of the cheapest snowball stands I've ever come across. A small size will run a few dollars but the portion seems more like a large size to me. Thanks for being there for me throughout many cravings, Sweet Shack!

Loved the ice. It was nice and soft, melts in your mouth and NOT crunchy. Good flavors..not overly sweet (which is a good thing in our opinion). The entire family loved their snowballs.

Hands down the best snowballs on the Westbank. This place consistently has the best flavors, prices and friendliest employees. I can't comment on any of the food (standard concession stand candy and nachos etc) but this is the ONLY snowball stand I've gone to for years and the DRIVE THRU has a lot to do with that! Keep it up y'all!

I'm always on the hunt for cool things on the Westbank and I finally tracked down this cool snowball stand. They have all the usual snowball flavors. I got my usual, bubblegum. I know. I am super predictable and boring but I like what I like. Besides snowballs, this place also has hot dogs and other non sweet treats, making it a great place to bring kids if you want to get them out of the house. My favorite part of the whole operation is probably the fact that it has a drive thru. Super convenient on hot days when you don't want to leave the comfort of the car's air conditioning.

What what?! A drive thru snowball shack?! I'm in love... Oh me geeeeee! I always get the same thing, creature of habit, I get a dreamsicle with condensed milk and it was sooooo good. I will admit, I'm lazy and hate being hot so having a drive thru where I don't have to wait in the heat is a major plus for me... This is my new snowball spot for sure! I'll drive the extra distance to not have to wait in this awful Louisiana summer heat ;)

Absolutely awful experience. Ordered a snowball and was given a completely melted cup of liquid. Never going back.

The most convenient thing about this place, besides being right behind my house, is they have a drive thru.

They also carry some gummy and chocolate varieties, some spices, some boxed coffee, some Middle Eastern pastries. Only some things were labeled with either what it was or the price of it, so that was a little disorienting. I was surprised to find a cafe and gelato bar inside. The gelato flavors were incredible. I settled on popcorn caramel and baklava in a waffle bowl. An employee said that everything was made in-house. The price was standard considering that all was made there. The service was weird. I kept getting served after people who'd gotten there after me. My ice cream scoops were significantly smaller than my boyfriend's. Returning isn't high on my list of priorities, but I'm glad I tried them.

I was wondering around the WB with Re and she suggested we go "to the candy store." I was confused…read morebecause it was already after 8pm and what would be open? Royal Roastery that's who! This unassuming spot in a strip mall was gorgeous inside. And it serves coffee, pastries, ice cream plus y'know candy. AND they roast their own nuts, spices and I guess coffee beans. There were definitely folks hanging out and enjoying a Turkish style coffee... I guess either the caffeine doesn't hit them the way it does me or they had no plans to sleep. The candy isn't labeled 100% correctly but you kind of know that gummy worms are not gummy strawberries. I tried an assortment bag of gummies and some of chocolates and the price was by the pound. Re got some freshly roasted unsalted cashews and they were delicious! Parking is easy in the strip mall lot. And as you step in you definitely leave Louisiana and step into another country.

If I were rating atmosphere alone- 3 stars would be generous…read more I am rating product and service because adding "ambiance", would do those who work here and their product a disservice. It takes a while to get your order because of low staffing. That said, when you get it of course it's beautiful and tastes great. Sitting just around the corner from Bourbon St. and the hustle and bustle energy that you walk thorough to get here- walking in was disappointing. It's a large open space with seating- and it's QUIET. No background music. It gives late night diner vibes and honestly, that's too bad. Adding music, upbeat- doesn't have to sound like a club but music and having more energy between staff and customers would greatly improve the experience and I believe, increase business. If there were some Fats Domino or 90s R&B flowing out of speakers and staff were smiling, upbeat, dancing etc. it would give more "legendary" experience verses midnight diner vibe. That alone made me not want to come back. Not everyone wants to drink alcohol so stopping to sit for a well made artistic milkshake is a great option. The energy brings down the vibe and experience. Match the ambiance, service and vibe to your menu and 5 stars all day.
