The ice melts in your mouth, and there are numerous flavors to choose from. I've been serviced in the past by their employees both ways: the drive thru & the walk-up window. I cannot believe I've only recently discovered Shake Shack. Apparently, I've been missing out! I accidentally found this place near our new subdivision. Major bonus points to them for being open 7 days a week until 7 PM (unless it's storming). It's hard to find a snowball stand open on a Sunday! It's also hard to find a snowball stand with as many offerings as Sweet Shack. I love that they have chocolate, vanilla and swirl soft serve because I always stuff my snowballs with the swirl combination when it's available! This is also one of the cheapest snowball stands I've ever come across. A small size will run a few dollars but the portion seems more like a large size to me. I'm a snowball brat. I grew up on them. At home, we rode our bikes to a place just outside the neighborhood all summer for soft, fluffy snowballs. And when visiting my grandparents in Terrytown, I used to walk down Terry Pkwy with my grandfather to a place that "ain't there no more." Living in Houston, I can't really get a good snowball to save my life. Crunchy ice snowcones, sure. But not a legit, shaved ice, Nola-style snowball. So when I'm back, it's a must have. Luckily this place is right around the corner from my grandmother's. It is really one of the best snowball stands across south Louisiana. The ice is soft and fluffy. It melts on your tongue like spun sugar. The syrups are not overly sweetened. Their snowballs really just put a smile on my face. :) read more

Hands down the best snowballs on the Westbank. This place consistently has the best flavors, prices and friendliest employees. I can't comment on any of the food (standard concession stand candy and nachos etc) but this is the ONLY snowball stand I've gone to for years and the DRIVE THRU has a lot to do with that! I'm always on the hunt for cool things on the Westbank and I finally tracked down this cool snowball stand. They have all the usual snowball flavors. I got my usual, bubblegum. I know. I am super predictable and boring but I like what I like. Besides snowballs, this place also has hot dogs and other non sweet treats, making it a great place to bring kids if you want to get them out of the house. My favorite part of the whole operation is probably the fact that it has a drive thru. Super convenient on hot days when you don't want to leave the comfort of the car's air conditioning. read more

Decided to give this place a try. The ice was chunky, not soft and fluffy. The ice machine may need a filter of some sort, because the ice itself really tasted chlorinated. Also the girl behind the counter, looked to be about 17, could not add up 2 smalls ($2 a piece), 1 medium ($2.50), and 1 kid size ($1.75). She was using a calculator and had to do it 3 times with supervision. Love this place! We discovered them one day when taking the back streets to Home Depot and I'm glad we did. The flavors are great and they also offer typical sno-ball stand food (nachos, hotdog, pickles, etc...). The most convenient thing about this place, besides being right behind my house, is they have a drive thru. When things get backed up they send a girl outside to take orders so they can keep the line moving. The ice is soft and doesn't clump up and the people are always nice.
