We came here after picking up my son from school, around 2pm today (2/2/2023). Rudest worker ever! She never acknowledged us or asked if we needed help. Wasn't friendly when we gave her our order. Initially I didn't see the mini cup option so I told her small but then I switched to the mini and she told me the cups are based on weight and not scoops - scoops are only for cones. The picture I took clearly shows the scoops per cup and nowhere in the store does it say scoops are for cones only. It wasn't a big deal for us and the ice cream is good, of course, but the customer service was very lacking. I definitely won't be coming back to this location. read more

Unfortunately, free cone day (which comes once a year; look out for it!) was the day before, which reflects poorly on my increasing absent-mindedness. Nonetheless, I was in the mood for ice cream, and i got an experience that was worth paying money for. The ice cream is quality (and they've started exploring dairy-free flavors), it's not wildly expensive, and the shopping center is easier to get to than downtown. I got charming service for the small scope of what was needed, and my ice cream was satisfying. It's never going to be the local family-owned place with a history and uniqueness about it, but it's certainly not a bad stop. read more

Look, I don't know who decided to open a Häagen-Dazs on the Westbank, but I'm not one to question small miracles. Also, whomever decided to open up a Häagen-Dazs next door to a Reginelli's is a damn genius and deserves multiple awards. Who doesn't crave something sweet after eating salty pizza? This is the only Häagen-Dazs location on the Westbank, and I'm excited that it's so close to my house. It's dangerously close, y'all. I had been passing this place for weeks, waiting for them to open, and the day finally came and off me and David went. The shop is pretty small with limited seating, but that's not a big deal. They can hold about as many people that usually lurk around at an ice cream shop. I decided to get a small (one scoop) pralines and cream in a waffle cone and David got a banana split caramel thing that came in a cup. I should mention that not only does Häagen-Dazs have the classic "strawberry, chocolate, vanilla" flavors, but they have fancy-pants flavors too. My pralines and cream was delicious and I MIGHT have finished it before we even got back to the house. Ooops. On top of that. they have hot fudge and caramel on tap- like a beer tap for hot fudge. And get this- it's warm, y'all. They put some on David's banana split cup thing and he loved it. I stole a taste and the warm caramel is delicious with the cold ice cream. This might be the place where dreams are made. If you're in the mood for something a little more simple, they have wrapped ice cream bars in a case. They also have ice cream cakes and milkshakes, because of course they do. They staff was super friendly and I know that this will likely be our new Westbank dessert spot. Hidden gem in the Westbank! Although prices are a little high, Haagen Dazs is known for their high quality ice cream. I believe it is the only stand-alone location in NOLA. If I'm not mistaking, the other locations are in the Riverwalk, Zoo, or Aquarium. I had the brownie a la mode. Really enjoyed it. Will definitely be back whenever I am in the area and looking for delicious ice cream! read more

Might sound silly, but we always have a hard time finding an ice cream parlor that offers sundaes, etc that are easy to eat in the car/while traveling. We stopped here & my husband ran inside to get sundaes to go, & the staff made sure we were prepped for eating in the car mess-free. Really appreciated the care/attempt to make our experience great. I just recently discovered this Haagen Dazs on the Westbank and I am so happy!!! The quality of their ice cream at this location tastes so rich and creamy. Their selection of ice cream flavors may not be as wide of a variety as Baskin Robbins but the taste and quality of it definitely beats it. I am so glad they finally opened a Häagen-Dazs in Gretna. The taste of the ice cream is so smooth and flavorful. I especially love the caramel and waffle cone. Nice salty caramel and bits of waffle cone in a vanilla ice cream. The staff is friendly and point out new flavors if your having a hard time deciding. My wife and I love the new ice cream flight that they have....4 small portions of any flavor you want. I also appreciate that the tables are never sticky from melted ice cream like it can be at other shops. The staff keep this place nice and clean. read more
