My vegan friends who came to visit stopped by here twice during their time here and said it was the best vegan cake they've ever had. I love seeing what new cake slice flavors they release each month. I've tried lots of different flavors but my absolute favorite is pumpkin. I wish it was all year long! Best pumpkin cake I've ever had. You really cant go wrong with any flavor. The cake is so moist and flavorful, you can tell they use high quality ingredients. The staff is always really friendly and helpful and really nice. It's truly the best dessert stop!

Spouse had a cheese cheddar scone - warm it when you get it home. I tried the vegan layered butter cream espresso cake - didn't care for it, to me it's a bit veganish - it just wasn't that good and not much espresso taste. I will make a better homemade cake to me that was a fail. Even for $12. A slice I won't eat it. I'm sure some of the others must have been better. You order, you stand and wait and still are guilted into at least a 15% tip. They don't have adequate parking and most is paid parking to run on and get a sweet treat . The pride flags - June is over - I think it might be an LGBTQ bakery, I didn't see one man working. It's larger than it appears, not for the customer area. It's clean, and the cashier is friendly enough. I disagree for having to feel I need to tip when I pay to park and walk 50 steps, and have to stand and wait for my order. I saw another poor review posted on the wall and then it was recindered (maybe after public humiliation they marked it thst way, I wasn't impressed with that it seems like bullying. My review will probably end up on the wall, but that's cool. I doubt I will be back.

I know they do not have regular open hours for just walk in purchase, but rather, they're custom order type business, but I have yet to place any custom orders so I cannot speak to that experience. What made me write this review is how accurate the owner (Brianne) described cake and desserts in the description and the baked goods taste matched 200% of the description. The pistachio cake was out of the world, so was the whoopie pie!!! I got to meet Brianne in person and she was very friendly, and was kind to explain everything about each of her baked goods she had out that day. I've tried their baked goods from pop tarts to cookies to housemade Twinkie and the creation and taste are unmatched. Single serve baked goods were more on pricier side, but well worth every bite. I would definitely order custom baked goods from here, knowing the quality and taste of products from this shop!!! Currently, you can find Spilled Butter baked goods at Cosmonaut coffee, Outer Dark Coffee, and at Tacoma Farmers Market (also known as Tacoma Broadway Farmers Market) from time to time. Enjoy!!!

Just came by today for my birthday while family was in town. We all loved the overall charm of the…read moregrounds (there's a garden, playground, greenhouse, cafe, and venue here too). There's ample parking that's paved or across the street on gravel. The food looked amazing in photos, but I wouldn't say it was as good as it looked or sounded in descriptions. It was generally very tasty, but everything felt like it was missing just one ingredient that would make it better. It could be that I'm just more used to ethnic flavors and these were just not quite hitting the mark. For example the stratciatella was good, but if the whipped ricotta was a little more fluffy and there was some extra black pepper or lemon added it would have been perfect. The pork belly was a little dry and not worth the price for just three pieces. The thick cut truffle fries were very good however. We also tried the bucatini and it was nice but still I wanted a little more kick. It has spice but just needs a little something to punch it up. The steak sandwich two of the three of us sharing a meal loved and I'd say was the best thing we ate. The service staff was kind, considerate and gave us time and made sure our drinks were filled. There are still a lot of dishes I'd like to try and since I loved the area, it would be worth coming back again.

I was incredibly excited to try this farm-to-table restaurant. It's close to home, and a coworker…read morehad raved about it, so our expectations were high. We joined the online waitlist at 1:00 PM on a Sunday. While we were seated fairly quickly, we still had to wait in a long line just to speak with the host to check in. The restaurant was completely packed well past 2:00 PM. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill once we sat down. It took forever just to place our order. Our chowder arrived about 10 minutes later, but it tasted like it came straight out of a can, and the accompanying dinner roll was completely flavorless and factory-made. Since we were hungry, we ate it quickly anyway. It took 45 minutes for our entrees--a Country Fried Steak and a California Benedict--to arrive. By 3:00 PM, we were famished, which made it all the more disappointing to discover our food was cold, soggy, and hard. The cubed fries, scrambled eggs, and English muffin tasted like they had been sitting on a counter for 20 minutes before being brought to our table. For a restaurant advertising a "farm-to-table" concept, the eggs, salad, croutons, and muffin felt entirely mass-produced. The service was equally disappointing; our server never returned to refill our water. While the atmosphere is nice and the space is large enough to fit over 100 people, they seemed severely understaffed. The host stand was backed up, it took too long to order, and the kitchen was clearly overwhelmed. For $23 a plate, I expect significantly better quality in both the food and the service.

So as my go to guide I yelped it! And up popped Kusher Bakery. You know I had to go and today we went there. It's an Eastern European bakery, and grocery store with products from multiple Eastern Europe countries. The selections are very good and then there is the bread baked daily except on Sunday. A bonus is the fact all the fresh baked bread can be sliced for you or you can take it home and slice it yourself. Having this service is great. Dark rye, 12-grain, and others that are....... well too many and all looked delicious. There is fresh baked Lavash, soft and delicious and many of the breads were still warm and fresh. The fresh piroshki! Awesome to say the least, Chicken, Cheese, Cabbage, and Apricot were available and hot. Look you can go to the other market on 70th and get very good stuff and pay quite a lot more, or go to Kusher and get a better selection and pay reasonable prices. Yes it is smaller but bigger is not always better and having this small place is a positive. For me Kusher wins hands down. So go, look around and get some awesome stuff.

The service was pretty quick. Ambiance was appealing with many baked items and a very nice aroma that got my Ghrelin levels going! They have many different savory and sweet options. I ordered one of their breakfast sandwiches which came with sausage, muffin, and eggs. OH MY GOD. This was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have tried in a while. Absolutely amazing. I am lucky that I don't live right by this place, otherwise I would spend all of my money here. I also got a sausage quiche which was not bad, but I wish I had tried some of their croissants. The croissants were placed around the corner of where I ordered, so I had not seen them. Had I seen the croissants, I would have ordered them and devoured them. I am definitely coming back to this place and HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

The floral arrangements and product displays were clearly designed with great care. All the items are wrapped in plastic wrap to keep them fresh. The shop is quite spacious, and the interesting paintings on the walls really leave an impression. All of this plays a huge role in building up their customer base. Service: The signage inside is clear, and everyone lines up in an orderly way. The staff is warm and welcoming, and they even asked if I wanted my bread warmed up. The order came out very fast--overall, a great service experience. Taste: I ordered two pastries: an almond croissant and a chocolate croissant. The almond croissant was packed with ingredients, with a thick, rich layer of processed almond filling in the middle. The texture was great--highly recommended! However, the chocolate croissant was a total disaster!!! My first bite was actually satisfying; the chocolate flavor and texture were rich. But on my second bite, I realized... it was underbaked. So disappointing.
