Every detail is thoughtfully done, from the clean, elegant design to the perfectly balanced flavors (not overly sweet, just right). You can tell they care about quality and service -- the texture, the freshness, the flavor combinations... everything hits. It's rare to find a bakery that nails both aesthetics and taste this well. If you're looking for a cake that feels special, elevated, and actually delivers on flavor, this is the place. Family owned and operated! I'll be coming back every time I need something beautiful and delicious.

However, I was disappointed with the service. I chose not to buy a plastic bag, but I expected the cashier to place my individually wrapped pastries into one paper bag, as they have done during my previous visits. Instead, I had to carry each one separately to my car. I don't know if it was because I didn't leave a tip, but it made me feel that way. It left me with a disappointing impression of the customer service.

I know they do not have regular open hours for just walk in purchase, but rather, they're custom order type business, but I have yet to place any custom orders so I cannot speak to that experience. What made me write this review is how accurate the owner (Brianne) described cake and desserts in the description and the baked goods taste matched 200% of the description. The pistachio cake was out of the world, so was the whoopie pie!!! I got to meet Brianne in person and she was very friendly, and was kind to explain everything about each of her baked goods she had out that day. I've tried their baked goods from pop tarts to cookies to housemade Twinkie and the creation and taste are unmatched. Single serve baked goods were more on pricier side, but well worth every bite. I would definitely order custom baked goods from here, knowing the quality and taste of products from this shop!!! Currently, you can find Spilled Butter baked goods at Cosmonaut coffee, Outer Dark Coffee, and at Tacoma Farmers Market (also known as Tacoma Broadway Farmers Market) from time to time. Enjoy!!!

Fast forward to 10/30/25 where I made the effort to stop by again. Convenient marked parking spots right out front. Pleasant welcome as I honed in on the pastry case and peeped at the speed rack with freshly baked goods. Retail shop was bright, clean, and smelled great. The Homie selected a six pack of Bacon Swiss pandesals. I was conservative and opted for one classic cheese ensaymada. We were convinced to try a freebie and The Homie selected the ube cheese pandesal. I was skeptical because I'm not much of a ube person. However, when we split it to share in the parking lot....omg that was pretty amazing! I was very tempted to go back inside and buy more. However, I refrained knowing our car trunk was already full of various carbs purchased from other places in Parkland and Lakewood. The Puget Sound region is lucky to have choices in Everett, Lynnwood, Seattle, Tukwila, Kent, and here in Lakewood. But nothing yet are comparable to a particular bakery in SoCal and of course, my late father's pandesal and ensaymadas. NBrothers Bakeshop, a worthy detour if in the Lakewood Towne Center vicinity!

They had this apple crumb cookie that was beyond incredible. I should have bought them all. Sooo good!! The Ube pandesal was good, fresh and hot out of the oven. When we entered on a Thursday afternoon, we were welcomed by two different female employees. We looked around and they still had a good amount of stock left for their baked goods, hot foods, and other snacks. Inside is definitely dim and very quiet, no music or TV playing to give it any ambiance. The staff seem friendly but also didn't really offer the most welcoming or warm presence that you would typically find in a Filipino establishment. The prices here seem fair and affordable, which was great as we were looking for a snack to hold us over until we had lunch. We ordered a pork siopao, chicken siopao, and an order of their pork shumai. Unfortunately, I don't think the cashier heard my boyfriend as we only got the pork siopao but he was to tired to correct her. She did try to sell us on turon a few times but my boyfriend isn't a fan of turon (I don't know why this is but he is Filipino and just tells me that he isn't a fan of a lot of Filipino desserts). We got in the car to eat our food. Our dogs were with us and were enticed by the smell as well, so that's a good sign as we complimented the smell too. I wish the food was kept just a bit hotter, but that's my minor gripe as I just don't like lukewarm foods. Now I will admit that the shumai is decent, but the sauce that comes with it is the star of the show. It has some spice while having this tangy umami kick that brought out the flavors of not only the shumai but also the siopao. My boyfriend and I were really impressed and tempted to go order more but we will definitely be back to get more of the hot foods and try some of the baked goods.
