When I travel, I usually search for some local gem to visit. This trip did not disappoint. I loved the cuteness of this place. It has a side that serves ice cream and sweet treats and one side where you can host a cute little party. When I arrived I was greeted very cheerfully and warmly, though it was the end of their work day. I had the privilege of tasting several ice cream flavors and none of them disappointed. Very good selection of ice cream (I especially love the RUM RAISIN - it's my go-to) but they also have really tasty sandwiches and cookies and cupcakes. The smell of fresh baked waffle cones as you enter is very inviting, and I've always had great service from the staff, who work so hard to make the experience a good one. So I ordered two coffee drinks online and first time trying this place before. The staff is all teenagers so do with that what you will. Drinks were OK but we ordered like an extra shot and some special stuff and I guarantee you we did not get it. The drinks were definitely not worth the money. It was nothing special, if you're really wanting a coffee drink go to a coffee shop, I wanted to support a local place but I'm not gonna give them $17 for two bland coffee drinks especially when we didn't get what we paid for. We're having a business meeting close by and everyone felt like ice cream after dinner. We live close by, so we recommended our favorite local spot Sweet Thang. Everyone else was from out of town and they all loved it. One of my colleagues from Texas got the Mexican Hot chocolate flavor (as did I) and she said it was some of the best ice cream she's had. I would absolutely agree! There 2 girls working and they could have gotten extremely overwhelmed by the 15 of us that walked in at the same time, but they didn't. They were awesome!! Sweet Thang came through for us tonight!!!! We walked in and were blown away with all the selections and the nice treat of a sandwich menu too. My raw berry truffles with dark chocolate cups totally blew me away... it was the perfect blend of fruit and chocolate in a cold treat. I also had a small scoop of cookies and cream.... super delicious. I can't even tell you what my wife had except that one of the scoops had something to do with Snickers.... I got a small taste and loved it. The staff were super helpful, friendly, and were going out of their way to engage customers and ensure they had a good experience. We enjoyed our first trip to Sweet Thang, and I definitely appreciate the level of effort the owners and staff are doing to make this place kick off. Coming in on a hot Saturday evening, the line was nearly out the door so I'm sure that's a good sign that they found an untapped location. Walking in, the atmosphere is almost overwhelming in a good Charlie and the Chocolate Factory kind of way but naturally, it can be hard to hear the staff over the chatter of the patrons. It'd be unfair to try to compare this place with some of the more established parlors around the city since I think they are still working to find their groove. But ultimately, while the ice cream was tasty and cold, it was a bit too difficult to feel comfortable sitting there with my family. Coming in, you get first see a wall of flavors. Unfortunately, I think most patrons are conditioned to interpret that that "what's on the wall is what we have". After perusing the flavors for a minute and about to settle on a game plan, I was told that some flavors are rotated. While that is understandable, you sort of get disappointed to hear that if you had a particular one in mind. We settled on: -Apple Strudel - very tasty, not too sweet - Red-White-Blue - leaves your tongue patriotically painted, kid-approved. - Strawberry Swirl - this one had chocolate flakes and strangely-enough, didn't taste like strawberry. My little one isn't yet ready for her big sister's flavors so I was just hoping for plain strawberry flavor. Unfortunately, they didn't have plain strawberry so that kind of challenged it. If they're rotating flavors, perhaps they'll want to consider the basic three as fixed. Some other things I hope they can look at improving: - Although I'm sure it's more on the building-owner side, the airflow felt limited, and I wished it wafted a nice smell of dessert flavors as opposed. - I appreciate the bold color scheme of the walls and decor; however with so much royal blue, purple, etc; it does come off as a little dark to see. Some vibrant lighting will help drive those "social media" snaps. - A few things felt out of place and probably just got overlooked during the chaos, specifically there was a large tub of Rubbermaid storage containers just sitting next to the check-out counter at eye-level (unless they meant for those to be some decent to-go boxes). read more

We walked in and everyone welcomed us. One of the employees asked if it had been my first time and when I said yes, she explained the menu more in depth. They offer soups, salads, and sandwiches along side 60+ flavors. Their ice cream is imported from Florida and my favorite is Cookies & Cream. I was able to sample several varieties including strawberry cheesecake, coffee, orange creamsicle. What really impressed me was the Superman flavor. I haven't seen that kind in years!
