    Ham and cheese croissant

I was in Langley for some errands and stopped by Sweet Thea's storefront in Langley. It's hidden away in an industrial area of Langley but easy to find. I got a ham and cheese croissant to go as well as a sourdough loaf and I was not disappointed. The bread was freshly made, and it definitely did not disappoint. I'm so glad I came across this hidden gem while in the area!

Lemon tart and coconut lime tart

Discovered this little gem today at the kerrisdale market and apparently they are at most markets in the city. I sampled a Chocolate cookie and a ginger cookie and couldn't resist bringing a ginger cookie home for later! Also thought a lemon tart and coconut like tart needed a new home so they are in my fridge right now. Their demise is imminent! If you see Sweet Thea in your local market snap up some goodies for your next dinner party or to indulge late night when you want to reward yourself for something extra special! I'm going back next weekend to try something new. You can't make me stay away!

Farmers' markets are worth a visit just to get a piece of this sweet action! Granville Island hosts a very fine one every week from June to Oct. Which, thanks to my impeccable timing, I discovered on the last week of the season. So tasting the goods from this powerhouse pastry stall only reinforced my shame for not having found it sooner! Their baked goods look pristine & varieties have a traditional flair. Temptations include: 9" Fruit Pies ($15) - strawberry rhubarb, sour cherry, old-fashioned apple, mixed berry Big Cookies ($1.25, $6 for 6) - white chocolate macademia, snickerdoodle, chocolava & more! 4" Tarts ($) - chocolate pecan: buttery shell brimming with chocolate-studded filler & even more whole pecans. Best rendition I've had. Not cloyingly sweet & positively dreamy when warmed. - pear almond: Not just a pretty face! The most happy marriage of frangipane, poached pears & almond crunch. You can literally taste the European pastry technique Thea brings to her craft. Their kind prices only add to their appeal & my addiction! Check out their website for their weekly market schedule & offerings. Efficient shoppers & eager sweet tooths can also pre-order online!

I fell like the lower price reflects in the food though. An egg salad sandwich and a cucumber and cream cheese sandwich type of thing. really nothing special that you couldn't make at home. It is a cute little place and it was clean. The staff weren't overly friendly, not warm or anything. Its mediocre.

There were NO sides that came with sandwich or the wrap. I did ask if there were any little side that came with it and the response was rude with a hard no. Honestly even if was just a little pile of plain chips or just a small amount of pasta salad would have been nice to go with my sandwich. I think the prices are well over priced for a sandwich/bakery place. I have been to many other bakery/sandwich places and I have always received with my sandwich, 1 or 2 small sides. I also found that there wasn't really anything special about their sandwiches, they were ok. I will never go back the Lemon Bakery. The reason why I went to Lemon Bakery is because I wanted to try a new sandwich place.
