I love supporting Black-owned businesses and I love walking into an establishment and being called Queen!!! I'll be back just for the great service and the delicious treats they have! This place is great! You have a lot of comfortable seating and they even have a room where you or your children can watch tv while you enjoy your sweets! They have a lot of delicious cupcakes, cakes, cookies, pies, cheesecake and parfaits. They have a display so you can see exactly what you are getting when you order. The desserts are made fresh in the back. I got a lemon cupcake and a strawberry cupcake to share........and ended up not sharing. Ha! Very fresh and delicious. I will be coming back here to bring treats for my friends and coworkers!!! I love this place! Very cute!!!

I would normally give this a "1" but I am hoping beyond hope that this was just a bad day. This was my first time visiting this location and the taste of my desserts was very disappointing. I ordered peach cobbler and a raisin and nut cookie. First of all, Sugar Rush is known for its cobbler. Although this one smelled good, I immediately thought it was not cooked enough by the color of the crust. There was also very little juice in this serving leaving the cobbler quite dry. I literally took one bite and threw it away. Then, I moved on to the cookie. Hmmm...an odd flavor threw off the taste. I couldn't quite put my finger on it but it did not remind me of an oatmeal raisin cookie at all. I should have followed by first intuition and ordered tea cakes. Due to extreme disappointment, I'll go back to the original location from now on.

Their cupcakes are WAYY TOO SWEET personally.. the red velvet was a tolerable sweetness when eaten with milk though. It tasted good! The presentation is nice for the cupcakes. This place isn't for me because the sugar level is too high for my preferences

This place is boooomb af. Usually, I don't engage with anybody's sweet potato pie, as I'm forever disappointed. I personally make the best sweet potato pie that anyone has ever eaten haaaa.... but people rave online about this spot, PLUS I saw ASMRtheCHEW eat one of their buttermilk pies on her channel and it looked delectable, so I decided to give both pies a whirl when I recently visited Texas. I actually got a couple more things than that, including the buttermilk pie, sweet potato pie, banana pudding and peach cobbler. Don't judge me like I ate it all by my gluttonous self... (although I could've) I decided to be nice, and shared it with my man and his parents lol. When I tell you their desserts are BOOOOMB, that's exactly wtf I mean! Somebody's jheri curl roller set wearing granny is back there making that shit! She got big fat upper arms and a clear shower cap and a gold toof... and she told my momma to tell yo momma that she want her $50 for all them cobblers she made for the church picnic. That's how good it is. Anybody that don't understand that story, this spot ain't for you. Your tastebuds can't handle the flavor and you need to stick with store bought pumpkin pie, and keep it moving. Don't come in big mommas kitchen with all that foolishness.

This place is the ONLY bakery you need for fresh, from scratch desserts! I stopped into this location for some cookies and slices of peach cobbler (the BEST cobbler outside of a Southern family reunion!!!), and I noticed something neat. A couple of years ago, I engaged the Stella Link store to make a cake for my mother's birthday. Her fave is coconut cake with pineapple custard between the layers, which they were happy to make. Coconut cakes are fun, but not SHINY, and there was no established method of dressing them up, so I suggested some edible glitter. The cake was beautiful and SUPER-SCRUMPTIOUS, and became a company thing. What a nice souvenir for us--they call it TEMPTATION, and they have a cupcake version, too. You NEED to use Sugar Rush in all of their locations for your occasional desserts, or just because they use all of the best ingredients, and make everything with a pride and care that cannot be matched! (The picture is from mom's b-day, with the first ever TEMPTATION cake.)

I do not know where to begin. We ordered different items and ALL of them were amazing. This place is beautifully decorated, and the atmosphere is wonderful. The staff is so friendly and if you have any questions about the desserts, they are more than happy to assist you. I have now book marked this spot on Yelp. My daughter wants me to bring her here with some close friends for her birthday next month. This is our new dessert place.

Very underwhelming since the last time I came. It was around 4. The floor was sticky and they had no more peach cobbler. Wasn't sure of what else they offer since there was no menu and she didn't at least try to sell us anything. We went with a banana pudding (that's what my husband wanted before we walked in). It took a long time for it to come out too. It was ok for $6.

Delicious cupcake and super friendly when taking my order for a cake I customized to be made. Tried one of their cupcakes and was super happy with how delicious and spongy it was.

Can't go wrong with their signature mango chewy ball either which has mango slush base topped with glutinous rice chewy balls and mango chunks. The mango pancake was a thin crepe-like outer layer filled with whipped cream and a slice of mango.

When I stopped by on a weekday evening at 9pm it was packed. They had stations setup throughout the store to order different goods, which helped to alleviate the rush. Knafeh ($6) - They offered 2 types of knafeh, one with cheese and one with custard. I went with the one made with Nabulsi cheese and topped with shredded phyllo, and soaked in sugar syrup. It was warm, crispy and delicious! Karak tea ($5) - This milk tea drink was made with aromatic spices, primarily cardamom, cloves, ginger and cloves. I was happy to see they used whole milk instead of evaporated milk. The drink was incredibly rich and creamy and tasted great. Turkish delight ($18 / lb.) - This was extremely fresh, soft and chewy, made with cornstarch, sugar, nuts. Some of the varieties I tried had chocolate and/or fruits. The baklava here was fresh made with layers of phyllo dough, chopped nuts, and held together with some honey. The nut offerings here included, almonds, walnuts, peanuts and a few more. Overall I was impressed with everything they offered here with the exception of the nuts, which I thought were just ok. I'd definitely return if I was in the area.

For example, with the Turkish delights and ice cream selections, only a few items are labeled. For most of them, you have to guess the flavor or ingredients. When I asked questions, there was a language barrier, and the staff member behind the counter was unable to clearly explain what the items were in English. This can be especially frustrating for customers with food allergies or dietary restrictions. In the U.S., I would expect all flavors and ingredients to be clearly labeled so customers can make informed choices. Even if staff members are not fluent in English, having accurate labels for flavors and ingredients would greatly improve the customer experience. The desserts themselves are excellent, but better product labeling would make the experience much more enjoyable and accessible for everyone.

Popfancy Dessert Bar: You're here for K-Pop, the desserts are the bonus…read more Let's be honest about what this is. You're paying for the K-Pop Demon Hunter pop-up aesthetic, the upbeat vibes, the fast service, the themed menu. The desserts? Solid. The Pinky Up Parfait hits. One scoop of cappuccino ice cream comes generous and tasty. Nothing disappoints. But nothing revolutionizes dessert either. This is good execution in service of a limited time experience, not destination-level pastry work. And that's fine. That's exactly what a pop-up should be. The real draw is that everything works together. Vibe, music, service, and desserts that don't let the side down. It feels fun, not gimmicky. That's harder to pull off than you'd think. Bottom line. Pop-ups don't stick around. If the K-Pop theme is your thing and you want solid desserts in a fun environment, go now. If you're just looking for great desserts, permanent spots do it better.

Since we were already in the area after breakfast at TJ's Filipino Cuisine, we finally got the chance to stop by and try their baked goods for ourselves. We arrived early, so the bakery wasn't too busy yet. The bakers were busy prepping more goodies in the back while my cousin and I browsed all the Filipino baked goods we really miss from back home in the Philippines. They even had suman, sapin-sapin, biko, and other kakanin, which was nice to see. I specifically looked for the chicken empanada, and my cousin wanted to try the ube white chocolate chip cookie. We also saw different kinds of siopao and planned to come back later to buy some before heading back to San Antonio. We tried the ube white chocolate chip cookie first, but honestly we weren't totally satisfied. It tasted more like a regular white chocolate chip cookie with purple coloring and didn't really have much ube flavor. I also tried the chicken empanada. My cousin didn't like it because it was sweeter than expected--we were both expecting it to be savory. There seemed to be caramelized sugar in the outside of the pastry, which probably added to the sweetness. I still like it, though it was definitely sweeter than what I'm used to. Red Ribbon's chicken empanada is still my favorite. Later that day before leaving Houston, we came back for the siopao we planned to take home. We finally decided to just buy a couple pieces for ourselves, heat them up in the bakery, and try them fresh. When we saw the price for a four-pack, we were honestly disappointed. It felt expensive for the size. The siopao wasn't huge, and while I like the dough, there wasn't much chicken filling inside. For the portion, taste, and quality, it felt overpriced. Overall, it's probably not worth making another trip back for us. We did enjoy the cassava ube suman, and I like the chicken empanada, but not enough to drive all the way to Houston just for those. If I live nearby, I might come back to try other baked goods, but based on this visit, I'm not sure the rest would impress my palate. I still give them credit for cleanliness and customer service, although we did notice fruit flies on one of the shelves and reported it. The staff was friendly, and the bakery itself was welcoming. At the end of the day, since they're a bakery, the expectation is great-tasting, quality, mouthwatering Filipino breads, pastries ", and kakanin. While some items were enjoyable, overall it just didn't quite live up to the hype for us.
