We are avid froyo fans and just moved to the area. Their flavors are really delicious and I would say even better than Menchis (our normal go to spot). A Sweet Slice of Heaven Been coming here for 3 years and its a lovely place. The friendly and welcoming staff did an expert job making the interior bright and out-worldly. A great spot for taking your kids on a weekend. All the flavors of the froYo are excellent and well cooled. Pineapple? ICEE? All here. The best part is their loyal customer rewards. We really enjoy stopped by Sweet Frog to pick up a cup of frozen yogurt. Orders are priced by weight, and there is no limit in terms of how many flavors of frozen yogurt you can get in one cup or how many toppings / sauces you can add on top. It's a lot of fun to try to create the most enjoyable mixes. Our favorite flavors are dulce de leche (highly recommended!), praline, and cheesecake. Some good fruity flavors are mango and banana. Other fruity flavors are try-at-your-own risk; depending on the flavor they taste very artificial and not true to the fruit. Pre-pandemic, there were small taste cups available for patrons to use but sampling is not currently an option. Our favorite toppings are mochi (several flavors available), boba poppers and cheesecake bites. There are many toppings to choose from including chocolates, fresh fruits, nuts and cereals, sauces and more. This location is rarely very busy. Usually when we have visited, we are the only customers. This is especially nice during the pandemic. read more

We found this location to be on the small size and with a lot of people inside it gets very crowded and hard to get to things. It's just not a very good set up. Another minus was the young woman at the cash register who was not very welcoming and looked like she would rather not be there. In fact it was almost a hostile demeanor. The plus is they do have some very different and appealing flavors than their nearby competitor, but between how small it is and how unwelcoming the employee was I don't think we'll return. read more

My Fiancee and I LOVE Sweet Frog. I have been to several SF locations, but The South point Durham location is the best. One of the things that I like are the available sample cups located right up front. Other locations make getting samples harder than getting Gov clearance. I new nearby FroYo place! I never would have known if it weren't for the signs they posted on Fayetteville. First surprise, as I followed the signs: woah, Cold Stone is gone. And Sweet Frog is now in it's place. It's not a great location, I can't say I've driven by there in the past 6 months, even though it's so close. All the employees were SUPER nice. It's froyo, so I assume everyone knows what's going on... but when I went to get a cup a very nice guy was all, "Hi, Have you been here before! Here are some tasting spoons!" But I like to just go with it and picked out cake batter and peanut butter (they had over 12 flavors... really, people *need* more than that? sheesh). The toppings bar had anything I could thing of. The girl at the cashier was super nice. Second surprise: The employee t-shirts that promote the Jesus. Now I'm totally cool with it - businesses can support any religion they want (If you have a problem with religious businesses, I hope you never eat at Chick-fil-a... it's the South, this thing is pretty common). I just think they might want to tone it down a little because (as proof from reviews) not everyone can handle this. I know it's not meant to offend anyone, but it does. I guess if they were an openly atheist froyo shop and wore t-shirts that said, "THERE IS NO GOD," then I probably would be offended, too. As far as the froyo scene in the Triangle goes, this place is definitely worth mentioning. The yogurt is good and they use fresh ingredients which I appreciate opposed to the syrupy fruit that other chain locations use. The concept of building your own treat is kind of fun too. They have a variety of flavors so there is sure to be one for every pallate. Cost is based on weight of the yogurt + ingredients. My one gripe about this place has already been mentioned so I'll keep it short.... The shirt: Fully Rely On God What...the...hell. What I thought was a lovely little yogurt place had suddenly transformed for me when I saw this. I get it. Freedom of religion, free speech, blah blah blah...but really? Associating froyo with Jesus? I wasn't horribly offended by it, but when I noticed it, it confused me a bit and I don't exactly understand why it is necessary to bring religious beliefs into a place meant specifically for desserts. Overall, a nice addition to the little strip of stores across from Southpointe, but the religious undertone creeped me out a little so I may opt for Starbucks for a frozen treat next time. read more

While I was mildly concerned Cold Stone had disappeared, Sweet Frog was pretty good. They had an ok mix of flavors, but I was sad they didn't have tasting cups - they did say to just get a spoon and put a little in your real cup to try it, so that was nice. Well, it's no LoYo, but it's still pretty damn good. My problem is that I can't be trusted to choose my own toppings. I've been here a handful of times now, and every single time I leave with some disgusting red velvet / banana / cake batter / gummi bear / brownie concoction that would shame and shock my mother. I cannot be trusted to build my own sundae because I only know how to basically ruin otherwise tasty ingredients by putting one tiny little micro-teaspoon of every single topping they have. I don't know why I do it. But it's kind of delicious. Gross and weird, sure, but I like pickles and peanut butter together, so what do I know? Now, for people like my husband, who don't feel self-imposed pressure to try every single flavor and ingredient available, Sweet Frog is a great choice. Even for me, it's still a pretty good choice, really. I love that they have so many fat-free options. The yogurts themselves are quite good. The aforementioned red velvet was very tasty, although it did have a bit more red dye in it than absolutely necessary. Again, it really does not compare to Local Yogurt's red velvet. This is a super-cute and clean little shop with a convenient location in the Renaissance Center at Southpoint, and is guaranteed to satisfy that ice cream craving of yours and for potentially fewer calories than Ben & Jerry's. read more

My friend and I went to this Sweet Frog location about a week ago and it was lovely. It was very clean and the attendant was so nice. She explained to us about the cups that changed colors and the discount that comes with purchasing the cup. It was a great experience. I loved the atmosphere, but most of all the cleanliness and the fact that everything was fully stocked. I'm didn't have to ask for anything. My impression of the strawberry yogurt was that it was a little too icey and not creamy enough. Maybe it was just a bad mix. There are plenty of flavor options and candies as well. I think the space is a little small and it gets crowded, but it's not bad. I'm a regular Moonberries Man, but tried Sweet Frog at the suggestion of a friend. This is very similar. If I lived on the east side from the Southpoint Mall, maybe I'd come here more. The staff was cheery and I liked the outside seating, though we took ours to go. They have gift cards for sale, but know they are only good at this location and you have to use the whole amount in one visit. They sell them in $3, $5, and $10 increments. I bought one for a friend hoping he could use it at the Chapel Hill location too, but I didn't see the fine print until I was out the door. Oh well. PS: Some of these reviews make me laugh in regard to the religious bent that Sweet Frog has. It's a private business folks. read more

The only con here is that surprise you get at the cash register and discover how much your concoction costs. It can run a little high if you don't discipline yourself. So I walked in and was kind of surprised there was no one the greeted me upon entry. I walked over to look at the flavors and then tried to find sample cups to try a flavor and was unable to find them and there was still no one to ask. I ended up getting a flavor I knew I would like and then added all of my toppings-which by the way, the selection is amazing, but still no employee until the phone rang and he was on the phone while I was being cashed out. As nice as it is to have a frozen yogurt venue close to home, Sweet Frog unfortunately doesn't do it for me. I've now gone twice and have been disappointed with the not just the flavors of the frozen yogurt offered, but the actual texture and consistency. I'm typically not a very picky person when it comes to food, especially dessert. However, Sweet Frog's froyo is often water down or slushy. The flavors are much too sweet, and more artificial than you'd already expect for simple flavors like cake batter or cheesecake. I usually love cake batter, cheesecake and caramel, but those three offered flavors for instance taste like Splenda overload, and the flavor seems way off. The toppings are fine, a little stale from the times I've been in, but nothing terrible. Lastly, the frozen yogurt at Sweet Frog is way over priced in my opinion. My husband and I each got a normal cup filled halfway and our total was $12 for both! Hopefully SF will eventually reduce their price and improve the quality of their yogurt. But until then, I think I will be trying out other places. read more

Think of it like a Grate Dane puppy. Cute, a little clumsy but cock full of energy and potential. The yogurt comes out sort of fast when trying to get samples leading to getting more than I need for a taste is my only complaint.
