I tried the banana split in a cup with chocolate, coffee chip, and pistachio. Chocolate and coffee chip are always favorites, but pistachio was new for me and surprisingly good. The coffee chip had a great salty-sweet taste, and the pistachio bites added a nice texture. Came here today on 04/26/26 I was helped by an older woman I think her name tag said Flor not sure. She was really rude towards me and my husband she kept cutting us off while we were talking and when we didn't get a cones fast enough she would shake it like hurry up being very impatient, which was disrespectful because we were holding our children and we only have so many hands available. To say that I am DISGUSTED by the way I was treated here is an understatement! The employees name tag said Axel or Alex. We were told that due to a water not working issue we could not order smoothies and shakes. I was trying to order for my family and was just trying to get reassurance when I asked to confirm they still were not making shakes or smoothies. His face turned red and his tone was very alarming. He said no, then proceeded to go to his coworker and say " Didn't these dumbasses just hear me say no shakes or smoothies". This is very inappropriate behavior. As a server I understand that situations like these can be stressful but I would never fix my mouth to say this especially with a customer right there. The prices of the ice cream are very high and considering these employees rely off tips I definitely wouldn't expect behavior like this. Came here today for a smoothie, the employees were very nice and friendly there was one girl with red hair that was helping me she was extremely friendly and professional! They had everything down looked like a lot of teenagers were running the store while waiting for my smoothie I witnessed a difficult customer get loud and rude with an employee I was impressed by the way this young lady handled the customer! I drove 30 miles just to get my favorite Belgian Chocolate milkshake from the Häagen-Dazs at Southpoint Mall, only to be turned away 15 minutes before closing. The staff member rudely told me they were already cleaning the machine and refused to serve me, even after I asked politely and explained I'd come a long way. No apology, no explanation, and my kids watched us walk out disappointed. Totally unacceptable customer service. If you're going to close early or stop offering items before closing time, say so upfront. Won't be coming back to this location and you be prepared for terrible customer experience and be paying $10 for milk shakes. read more

It has been over 10 years since I enjoyed the creamy goodness, that is Haagen-Dazs ice cream. Quite possibly, the single best scoop of ice cream I've ever had was at the Haagen-Dazs inside of the New York, New York Hotel and Casino in Vegas back in the early 2000's so when I saw that there was one inside the mall in Durham, I had to have it. Stopped the freestanding structure, placed my order quickly and was in my hand in less than 3 minutes. I took the first taste after testing the consistency with my spoon. Perfect. In every way. One of my favorite ice cream places. It's inside the Southpoint mall, right when you enter the food court on the second floor. The line is usually long especially during the weekends but their ice cream is so good. They will let you try flavors but there's not a lot of time to try too many flavors bc of the long line! My personal favorite is the brownie one. Get it on the chocolate/but cone and you will be very satisfied. One scoop was perfect for me! read more

After many years of walking past kiosk like this, I saw it, the perfect sign, Dairy free ice cream available! I have eaten my fair share of chalky, barely edible ice cream substitutes so my expectations were very low. We ordered a small cup of half chocolate salted fudge truffle and half peanut butter chocolate fudge. This stuff is AMAZING! We've only been in the area 3 weeks and I've already ordered it 3 times. We could not figure out what they use to make it, there are no dairy substitutes, just whipped up Belgian chocolate and peanut butter. If I had to pick the chocolate salted fudge is my favorite, the fudge truffles chunks inside really make it, it's also not too salty and pairs so well with the peanut butter. Don't forget to sign up for a frequent customer card. Also mark your calendars, every year the second Tuesday in May is free cone day. I hope they get their other flavors in and continue to develop more, it's really too good to miss. read more

This is one of those little kiosk stands in the mall. They sell Ice cream, and smoothies. The smoothies actually tasted very good, and was blended to a very consistent and creamy texture. The staff is friendly, and they give out free coupons if you "Like" them on Facebook. That is at least what the staff said today. So, if you don't mind paying $6 for a smoothie, them give them a try, or just order some fresh tasting Ice Cream from them. read more

Good evening, I write because I just had the most horrible experience I've ever had, not only at Haagen-Dasz but any ice cream shop I've ever frequented. Essentially, I stopped at the Haagen-Dasz at the end of my shopping excursion. I purchased my ice cream cone, and before I had even left the front of the register, my ice cream had tipped and fallen on the floor. I was absolutely heartbroken as I had barely touched the ice cream, and was really looking forward to enjoying it. I turned to the young lady behind the counter and let her know that I had dropped my ice cream and it was right in front of the cash register. She looked at me as if to say, "Oh well, there's nothing I can or will do about it." She then also looks over the counter to see the ice cream which is now on the floor. I mean, it was not just a portion of the ice cream, but the entire scoop. There was no ice cream left on the cone whatsoever. And, I suppose sensing my concern and the fact that I would like her to aid in this dilemma,she says, "Well, I could give you another one..." I nod, and she continues, "but I'll have to charge you." I look at her as if to say, are you serious? And, then I actually say it. She says yes, she is. She's sorry but that happened to someone earlier in the day. I could not believe my ears! That's just ridiculous. It was not as if I had lied or even walked away or done anything precarious, but in the blink of an eye I had lost my ice cream that I had just paid for. So, with complete ire and disdain for Haagen-Dasz, I went to Ben and Jerry's, determined not only to eat great ice cream but to never ever patronize that Haagen-Dasz again. It is truly a shame that franchises like the one at Northgate Mall in Durham, NC are giving you a bad name. And, you know, the sad thing is you do not know how many people did not take the time to tell you about the horrible service and poor customer care at that franchise.
